A Colombian drug lord targeted by U.S. investigators with a $5 million reward has been killed, Colombia's President said Friday.

The death of Victor Ramon Navarro-Cerrano, a cocaine kingpin in North America and Europe, was confirmed by Colombian intelligence forces, President Juan Manuel Santos said on Twitter.

"Big blow," Santos tweeted. "Congratulations!" He said criminals or their subjects face "justice or end under the ground."

In his tweet, the Colombian President referred to the drug lord as "Megateo," which is one of his several aliases.

Santos didn't comment further about the death.

Navarro-Cerrano, 39, ran a criminal enterprise called the Librado Mora Toro Front of the El Ejercito Popular de Liberacion (EPL) that grew coca, ran cocaine production labs, and sold metric tons of the drug to the United States, Canada, the Dominican Republic and Europe, the U.S. State Department said.

Navarro-Cerrano also ran "a vast money laundering network responsible for moving millions of dollars to Colombia," U.S. authorities said.

"Navarro-Cerrano uses his money and influence to corrupt officials in Colombia and even utilizes corrupt police officials to escort his cocaine shipments and investigate his rivals," the State Department website said.

Navarro-Cerrano faced an August 2011 indictment in Florida and was designated as foreign drug kingpin last year by President Barack Obama under the Kingpin Act, which denies drug traffickers access to the U.S. financial system.

The U.S. government had offered a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to Navarro-Cerrano's arrest and conviction.

There is currently the craze for who becomes the running mate to Timipre Sylva, the former Bayelsa state governor and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the election slated for December 5.



This is coming after the Sylva’s victory at the re-scheduled APC governorship primary election in the state. Sylva will this weekend announce his running mate for the Bayelsa governorship election.

However, there is speculation that the former deputy governor to Sylva, Chief Werinipre Seibarugu, the former speaker of the state House of Assembly, Chief Nestor Binabo and the man who came second in the party’s primaries, Chief Godknows Powell are among those jostling seriously for the deputy governorship ticket, This Day reports.


There are indications that one of the state chairman of the party, Chief Tiwei Timipa Orunimighe and a former member of the House of Representatives, Warman Ogoriba, would clinch on the position of the running mate to the APC candidate. Tiwei, there is the belief that he could be the one on Sylva’s mind owing to his loyalty.

It was said that Tiwei has continuously had an unwavering devotion to Sylva ever since the former governor was evacuated from the Creek Haven by former president Goodluck Jonathan.

Subsequently, when Sylva moved out of the Peoples Democratic Party, the duo of Seibarugu and Binabo who were deputy governor and speaker of the House of Assembly respectively under Sylva, refused to move with him to the APC.



Later on, reports have it that they both had declared their unalloyed support for the former president. They also threw their weight behind the incumbent governor of the state, Seriake Dickson and the PDP promising to carry the party forward.

Eventually, when the former first lady, Patience Jonathan had the faction issue with Governor Dickson, Seibarugu and Binabo also had their relationship with the governor totally breached.

The duo were said to have also decamped from the Dickson faction as a result of the fallout to join the Patience Jonathan-lad PDP faction.

There is the speculation that since Seibarugu and Binabo did not fulfill their pact to stay with the former ruling party as they left to the APC when Jonathan lost presidential election, their loyalty in the party is in doubt, a source hinted.

For Powell, the man who came second in the APC primary poll and a new entrant into the Sylva cycle, the light of choice also beams on him to emerge the running mate owing to the fact that he is from Yenagoa area that has the highest vote in the state.



It is said also that he has a lot of followers and especially because he is also a close ally of Senator Emmanuel Paulker, the political leader of the Yenagoa people expected to also switch to the APC at the weekend.

Ogoriba on his own was in the House of Representatives with Dickson under Sylva but was rejected by Dickson because he refused to deny Sylva at the height of his travail under Jonathan.

Sylva has since kick-started his campaign with the appointment of Senator Heineken Lokpobri as the director general of his campaign organisation. The campaign team is expected to be inaugurated at the same time as Sylva will announce the name of his running mate.

Meanwhile, Governor Dickson’s second term bid might have suffered setback as the Progressive People Alliance (PPA) in Bayelsa state dissociated itself from a publication in some national newspapers stating that the party was among the 13 political parties that endorsed the governor.

An air hostess reportedly earned around £650,000 over a two year period by having sex with plane passengers in the toilet.

The scale of the woman's 'business' only came to light when she was caught in the lavatory recently, and she was subsequently sacked.

It is reported that she was working for an airline in the Middle East.

A source speaking to the Saudi Arabic language daily Sada said: 'She admitted that she had sex with many other passengers during flight and that she preferred long distance flights between the Gulf and the United States.'

Airline sources believe the woman charged £1,500 (Dh7,400) for the mile high liaison, an amount she earned on every flight.

The airline has not been named specifically, but Sada has reported that the flight attendant was immediately sacked and then deported.

Speaking to MailOnline Travel, Antoine Michelat, co-founder of flight comparison website Jetcost.co.uk, said: 'Flight attendants have always had a special charm with their passengers; while some attendants choose not to cross a line and take advantage of this, there are always going to be those who do.

'The amount of £650,000 seems like an awfully high number and we're not sure how believable this is – although I suppose that all depends on if the person in question had illicit liaisons with business passengers and just how wealthy they were.'

Earlier this year, MailOnline reported that some cash-strapped air stewardesses in Japan are turning to prostitution in order to supplement decreasing wages.

Several unnamed flight attendants have been quoted in the Shukan Post claiming that female cabin crew are regularly paid to sleep with the pilots.

According to the women, staff can charge between £300 and £450 for 90 minutes with a client.

In Japan, becoming a flight attendant - known as a soochoowadesu - is a dream come true for many women.
Tens of thousands of young women apply for jobs as cabin crew with the country's major airlines.

One stewardess, is quoted by the Tokyo Reporter as saying: 'Stewardesses who are willing to do it with a pilot pass their number to a senior stewardess who is effectively a female love-vendor.

'There is also a system where the pilots use hand signals to tell the hostesses they are interested, and how much they will pay.

'Other stewardesses outsource their services through companies, some of which specialise in offering air hostesses.'

During pre-flight checks, the stewardesses line up before the pilot and co-pilot.

As the briefing proceeds, the pilots allegedly drop signals with their fingers.

According to the stewardess, four digits raised to the nose indicates an offer of 40,000 yen, around £225, for an overnight stay at a hotel.

According to another stewardess, those under 30 are able to charge the highest amounts for their services.

'We have an expiration date,' said a 29-year-old, who is also involved in an escort service that specialises in offering clients stewardesses.

A lady worked at a meat distribution factory. One day, when she finished with her work schedule, she went into the meat cold room (Freezer) to inspect something, but in a moment of misfortune, the door closed and she was locked inside with no help in sight. Although she screamed and knocked with all her might, her cries went unheard as no one could hear her.
Most of the workers had already gone, and outside the cold room it's impossible to hear what was going on inside.
