If you check the benchmarks of both you'd be shocked at the gap the i5 gave the i7 though it shouldn't be surprising since it's ages newer.
Another reason is the specs the laptop itself has. SSD with an option to expand through HDD. It's too good to let i7 big name pass you by.

I wondered why he needed my opinion in the first place.

Numbers don deceive the guy. And truly it's the same with most Nigerians.

Oh. The lagging usually happens in Battle royale. Other game mode are usually smooth.

Na CODM I blame. With every update I had to be reducing the quality and now I'm playing low graphics and it has been stable so far. The game is getting too buggy for even medium end phones.

It's quite funny seeing them say Xiaomi products are slightly above Transsion, the gap is so so wide.
I remember my days of using their products, I had a new phone die on me in under 2 months when I got to carlcare I saw crowd of people complaining of different problems. I couldn't even wait to get to my turn to be attended to. My point is Xiaomi don't have that level of customer support so all their phones complains are usually online whereas for Transsion they have where they pack themselves to go and complain and repair.

I saw a settings online.
Go to settings>>Additional settings>>Accessibility>>Vision
Make sure the remove animation option is turned off like my own.
I hope it helps.

Like when you swipe up from an app to homepage, when you unlock your device, and so on? You don't notice those subtle MIUI animations as well?

I noticed all. Minimizing an app, Switching through apps basically anything that involved animation is gone.
It's like my phone is in an aggressive battery saving mode.
