If you hear a PhD holder is a dedicated Academician most times he will use you to experiment Book Knowledge... You need someone who is versed in applicability always. BTW overseas its Fellowship and sometimes only membership that gets you to Consultant status. And at that status you Lecture Oyibo students and train doctors and the system is working wella. I am writing for every other guy in Europe or Overseas to understand that bosses and bosses. If you have any shade of doubt put yourself in the position of a BOSS. If that doesn't help imagine you are the overall Boss, and silently watching the juniors (this lover boy and his superior colleague) carry on flirtatious comedy in the 'workspace'. ..... You will naturally perceive that your first reaction will be "I hope these ones don't plan to wreck the relative courteous and VERY professional atmosphere here at work".  The reasons are obvious to a fool.... Everyone and their mother knows how most work romances end! There is an unspoken code, and heck you may even find it clearly written in the code of ethics for the work place that workers romance is not to be encouraged.. (i did not say forbidden). What happens is that only those who are thoroughly successful in these unwritten codes get to the very Top of Management. Bro trust me the Ultimate Bosses are watching closely. Also, I can even hazard a guess that if this sweet 'oyinbo sort of' girl is truly sooo wonderful, her mates or her bosses also have an eye or finger on her. Truth be told, they may be hindered by unwritten work ethics or codes.. and here you are upsetting the applecart like a "Hero"  get a Brain son!Even a gangster understands the code of don't shit where you eat... cos you are feeling pressed to shit on the table. I call it the TABLE because what you do in the workplace affect many others and not just you, you can believe me or not. And hey, you must be a serious dog you know! And probably Nigeria is not out of your system, so i understand why folks just saying Village People are calling you. REASON lies in your response below.... iphi:What the F! Gangs, States, Associations, Nations and Empires have gone to war over matters of romance so I am never surprised by what the emotional drive does to people. Okay, since you've no sence and insisted on going thru with this trainwreck in the making lets discuss your stupid approach... A lot of young women work with me, and after a long while i realised that somehow i don't see them as human beings... i see them as robots. That is being a professional. The girl you speak of probably doesn't have a real romantic date later today, but you talked to her like trash already when you referred to you being a . second option. No decent professional will allow another colleague, junior or senior look at her as unfit, and you used a word referring to her as second class. iphi:You could have said, hey join me and do something different for Vals day... i am going to see some sick or poor or homeless people... This would have raised your persona and after an emotional visit she would have suggested getting warm with coffee and damn she would have kissed you first without feeling under pressure about statuses because you've moved her into an entirely different headspace. She wont be ashamed to tell or be told upon because what else do you do to a guy who is so selfless ..right? Anyway, pull back and get out if possible. If not, its called life cos it happens and yep she still could be your future wife but dont keep doing crap like this or your future colleague turned wife may never believe you when you say a work meeting/ relationship/trip or visit is "simply work!!"
