KK is shackling the creative influence of Suarez on this game keeping him up there as the lone striker - if Carroll is unavailable, stick Kuyt in the center-forward role (only his work rate gan will keep those Citeh CBs on their toes all evening), allow Suarez to roam and find spaces in and around the box, he'd be harder to mark. For good measure, take Downing out. . . . he's just a waste of space!

@Ruudie. I hope you can now see d risk with trying to play cautious footie while grinding out 1-0 victories. One botched decision by d linesman and we lost 2 points.
You are wrong. . . . .we weren't playing to "grind" out a result here - compare this to the Everton game. We were much more open and attacking in this game.

If we had 10 men behind the ball, do you think Ben Arfa would have even been able to get into that position!?

how so?
they have been winning since like forever - is it now a taboo to draw at home?
No. . . . .but if they'd played at higher tempo and forced Fulham to have less time on the ball, they probably would have been better off. Fulham had way too much possession and were way too comfy most of the game.

They were also very lucky the refs ruled Zamora's goal offside. . . . I reckon he was on!

No room for Fletcher & Berba despite scoring midweek. Hope they too haven't picked up injuries.
4-4-2 No doubts. . . . .glad to see Giggsy back in the team a bit more regularly; enough of this under-firing youngsters.
Gibson on the bench - good to see. No Welbeck, thank goodness!

Ravel Morrison any day abeg.
That kid is genius . . . the level of confidence he has for his age is outstanding. He is as cocky as they come. Holds no fear.
He can play any where across the midfield or up front but I think that floating role will suit him as I cant see him playing in a 2 man midfield.
As much as I like Pogba . . . that kid is not ready yet. It will be unfair to throw him in at the deep end right now.

The only other option we have is Gibson. He is like O'Shea . . . just average.
The only thing i like about him is his accuracy at hitting shots on target.
He has scored some wonderful pile-drivers in his time

I think Giggs will have to play more games than expected right now since stubborn Fergie has said Anderson's injury wont make him go into the market. angry angry
But we have to admit that Giggs puts in a better shift than most of this young lads out there. . . . be it center midfield, support striker, left wing or left back!

We played enough, without Rooney, which was very surprising - there was good balance from back to front, the number of bodies behind the ball when we had to defend must have been reassuring for DGD to see (certainly was for me), everybody knew their jobs and stuck to it well enough. But for two or three shaky and inconsistent performances, it was almost picture perfect

Bottom line. . . . we will qualify from this group eventually; it doesn't matter who we get drawn up against later - top spot only guarantees a seemingly easy draw on paper, but it doesn't guarantee a 1/4-final place. As long as we can avoid Barcelona, I think we can just about hold our own against any of the other table-toppers. But if we do get FCB, I am sure coogar can ginger us with the refreshing details of how we beat 'em in the U.S grin grin grin

This UCL draw matter don become spiritual issue oh angry

I guess we should just zero in on qualifying first (position should be irrelevant now) and deal with whoever we will be drawn to play against in the next round - doesn't matter in the long run because we will still jam them eventually. . . . .to be the best, we can't help it but beat the other 'bests'!

No be so. . . . . I was watching Madrid give Osasuna a thorough hiding when I posted that - it got me thinking, whats the difference between Real Madrid and Barca because they will still beat all the other teams silly, make them look ineffectual, not even allow them possession for long periods. . . . Real Madrid's own is even bad because the speed with which they operate is BLISTERING, too fast for the poor opponents to comprehend.
So if some people hate watching Barca in La Liga, they should hate watching Real Madrid too and maybe even Man City!

Most might be mad at Sepp, but there is actually some sense in this. . . . .

"What I wanted to express is that, as football players, during a match, you have 'battles' with your opponents, and sometimes things are done which are wrong," Blatter said.
"But, normally, at the end of the match, you apologise to your opponent if you had a confrontation during the match, you shake hands, and when the game is over, it is over.

"Anyone who has played a football match, or a match in any sport, knows that this is the case.
"Having said that, I want to stress again that I do not want to diminish the dimension of the problem of racism in society and in sport.
"I am committed to fighting this plague and kicking it out of football".

Blatter told Al Jazeera that racism was not a major problem in the game.

"Racism is if there are spectators, or there are movements of discrimination off the field of play, but on the field, I deny there is racism," he said.

"You may say something to somebody who does not exactly look like you, but at the end of the match it's forgotten.

"After the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, it was my opinion that racism, discrimination has disappeared because that World Cup proved that you can connect people".

I rather think it is a compliment to Chicharito that he only needs about 15-20 mins in a game to make his mark not an insult.
And just as emperoh and coogar has pointed out, a poacher needs the perfect assist to be effective. Sadly, we don't look like the team that gave RVN the chance to become one of the ligue's all-time top scorers. . . . .so in fairness to the writer, he does have a point when he says Chicharito would be better of later in games when the opposition defence appears to be fading.

Goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak claims he is being treated like a "slave" by Manchester United and fears that his chances of playing for Poland in next year's Euro 2012 championship in his home country have been damaged by his boss Alex Ferguson.

Kuszczak has not even been on the bench for any United match this season and says that a proposed loan move to Leeds United until January was blocked by Ferguson.

The Poland international, 29, wanted to move to Championship side Leeds to keep himself in the thoughts of Poland coach Franciszek Smuda before the tournament which Poland are co-hosting with Ukraine next summer.

"I've become a slave to Manchester," said Kuszczak. "I'm frustrated but I don't want to slander or criticise Mr Ferguson. It's not my style.

"I've talked to Ferguson recently. I asked him to let me leave the club now, before the January transfer window.

"I told him I want to play and get back into the national team, because Euro 2012 is just around the corner - but it seems he doesn't care.

"The possibility of a two-month loan to Leeds United came up two weeks later. The club blocked it.

"It was a glimmer of hope for me. It would have reminded the Poland manager about me - but I didn't get the club's approval. I have respect for Ferguson because, for me, he's a great manager but I hope he will let me go in January."

Spain's David De Gea has taken over as United's first choice keeper since Edwin van der Sar retired at the end of last season with Anders Lindegaard the second choice.

Youngster Ben Amos has appeared in the two Carling Cup matches United have played this season with the Pole totally uninvolved on any match day.

He has been at United since joining from West Bromwich Albion in August 2006, but in just over five years has started only 56 times for the club.

With the exception of the El-clasico and a few others, most La Liga games seem like friendlies cuz they just go about smiling, hugging and exchanging jerseys like as if the whole thing was planned. . . . . .a bit of serious beefing, player-hating and intense physical play would go a long way to make the games more watchable!

Last 3 weeks are totally forgettable. . . . . still haven't struck a balance in the side yet - between midfield and attack, something is missing. Kanoute shouldn't really be playing as much as he does. youth team no go help, we need to buy and buy big sad

already 5pts adrift of the fourth place. . . . .looks like a return to the scrap for Europa ligue places again.

Yes, yes, yes. . . . .RuuDie loves a scrappy 1-0 score as long as there is dogged, ruthless defending involved!

Didn't see the game but its another clean sheet and if there were very few threats on our goal due to our defending, I'd be delighted!

I'd rather have games like this instead of open, high-tension games where the opposition (be it Apoel Nicosia or FC Ajangadi) will constantly waltz into our goal-post like it was a training session and it only takes the grace of God to stop them scoring!

And don't dare tell me it is not possible to win games in so a dominant fashion that your opponents do not get as much as a sniff of our goal - I see teams do so every week and until we are ready to attain such a level lets us scrap for the win. . . . . ."if we no fit win, lai-lai we no go lose" - lets go boys!
