rasputinn:If UTD win the ligue and a cup, would the sale of CR7 and CT32 be considered a mistake ![]() Notice, a huge majority of UTD fans prior to this incident would have loved nothing more but to have Carlito back in our fold, i included - even now, some still don't mind becuz the cracks are evident in our squad & we know what value he'd add. When Carlito left, he said loads of stuff about Fergie, all week long after his OT exit, he was in the news with 1 statement or another - he was still our hero, that flew by un-challenged. Now again. . . fine, Gary shoulda shut his trap too but he didn't, Tevez has responded both on & off the field - but he's stopped there, the next day he's on English papers, after that, Argentine Radio. . . . . next, only God knows; Gary has not said anything since, he has continued ranting & raking; when was this match played? Wednesday, today is saturday & tevez is still hurling insults at the club captain of MUFC, who is being disrespectful thats my grouse! The fool should learn how to shut his big mouth while the ovation is loudest that's all! |
dayokanu:i take it u'tr talking of RVN good move. . . . . both parties will surely benefit - still have a soft spot for RVN, he was just the classic assasin in the box; & RM really helped improve his game, his movement and link-up play improved considerably |
I've read a lot of arguments over this UTD-Glazer debt matter & it appears the crux of the entire issue is centered on the PIK loans. . . . & from the UTD angle, as far as i understand this loans are solely in the name of the Glazers, not UTD. . . . . the only thing is the Glazers are using money from UTD to pay off some of these debts. But as far as i know, there is nothing hindering them from stopping this and reverting to their other avenues of income to service those debts. |
Myne White:e be like a' don see u somewhere before, your name resemble 1 kain maggi or knorr, me sure sey u set pass omotola, becuz u be paddy of 1 funkola, anyway as u don show i throwey salute, even sef follow join blow flute, but like femi i dey wonder, how to take locate we tin'ti'rin yonder, come so'ji sey na pidgin & yoruba, plus including sey every na tear rubber, as e be sey u don show, make i jus let u know, all we yarns na love 'tori, from yenegoa to bori, we dey try jolli & unite, 24-7, no darkness only light! |
Sevilla have Brazil striker Luis Fabiano and Mali's Frederic Kanoute back in contention for Saturday's visit of Andalusian rivals Almeria.very, very welcome news. . . . we need to get back on track and battle for a top-4 finish! |
Manchester United have signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Turkish Airlines for an undisclosed sum that could help the Premier League club's parent company reduce some of its mounting debt. The Istanbul-based company last month signed a three-year, £2.7 million sponsorship deal with European champions Barcelona as it seeks to become a global brand. Details of the deal with United, who have also raised in excess of £500m through a bond issue, were not disclosed. "This deal is yet another indication of the global appeal of Manchester United and we are very pleased to welcome them (Turkish Airlines) to the club," United chief executive David Gill said in a statement on the club's website. Under the terms of the deal the airline will fly the team's players and officials to relevant matches, tournaments and training camps as United's official carrier. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/22012010/58/premier-league-manchester-united-new-sponsor.html |
Finally, the rossoneri thread is ressurected. . . . ![]() |
Its not a question of denial. . . . its more of people making it look all gloomy like doomsday is on hand for MAN UTD fc - as if the debts cannot be paid off completely or reduced to very considerable limits in the next 5yrs or thereabouts. Furthermore, i really don't think the ability to clear the debts is so ingrained in the onfield successes, there are quite a number of viable options at the disposal of the glazers even though it'd be quite difficult in these days of global recession. |
Olympos Xylofagou striker Panagiotis Pontikos banged in 16 goals against SEK Ayios Athanasios FC to help his side win 24-3 in Cypriot third division game on May 7, 2007. His feat is worthy of a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the number of goals scored by a single player in a game. Pontikos was not even in the top five of top scorers in the division but he doubled his tally in the single game against SEK to take himself to the top of the scoring charts. His goals were timed at 3, 20, 33, 35, 47, 50, 55, 56, 58, 61, 68, 75, 76, 83, 86 and 87 minutes. Unfortunately he did not break the record but merely equaled it. He has to share the glory because Stephan Staniso also scored 16 times for his side Racing Club in a French Cup match against Aubry Asturies in December 1942. In international football, the record for the most goals scored by a single player in a game is held by Australian Archie Thompson, who scored a whopping 13 goals in a 2002 World Cup qualifier against American Samoa on April 11, 2001. The Socceroos won 31-0 (the score was originally reported as 32-0 as the scorekeepers lost count). Thompson's feat was helped by playing in a team of well-drilled professionals, even though they were not Australia's first choice team, and playing against one of the world's weakest national football teams. In England, Joe Payne scored 10 goals in a single game for Luton Town in the 12-0 victory over Bristol Rovers on Easter Monday in 1936, the highest individual tally in a league game. Payne’s record has never been equalled, no other player having ever scored ten in a league game. Not surprisingly the former Derbyshire miner was quickly dubbed Ten Goal Payne. |
bandely:just copy that heading - "AS Adema 149-0 SO l'Emyrne" & google. . . . source ya'pa ![]() |
dayokanu:why didn't y'all dole out the 25milla when he was available. . . . ![]() |
HNIC:Not only Adebayor. . . . Aliadiere & even Ljunberg too - but they kept quiet and moved on; no more comments, no fuss! Tevez is taking it too far; first English papers, then Argentine radio, next he'll be on the al-qaeda sponsored jordanian tv. . . . . many UTD fans still like him, but the way he's taking it he's only gonna embarrass himself cuz if citeh don't make it to the final after all this raking, who would have lost!? Same thing happened to Rafa last season - its simple logic, play safe and make all the mouth when u knw the opposition cannot argue back - which ideally is after you're done & dusted with the game! |
dayokanu:& i bet he won it playing on his own! |
In terms of the raw amount of debt, we are in a bad way, but serious business people compare the level of debt to the value of the club. I don't think the debt as a percentage of UTD's value is as bad as it is painted. |
mukina2:the kind of thing gambia national team can do ![]() |
L'pool is back in bizness! |
biina:The big question is whether the current level of indebtedness is excessive for this point in both the footballing cycle and in the economic cycle, keeping in mind the brand that is UTD. |
biina, all u've said boils down to UTD not being able to buy players in the future - nothing in ur statement points to the fact that UTD might not be able to clear all the debts incurred thus far. . . this is hardly a disastrous scenario u've painted cuz in the last 5 seasons, i think UTD have spent far less on acquiring players than the other top sides in the EPL (perhaps only Arsenal tops that) but still have managed to dominate. |
AS Adema 149-0 SO l'Emyrne - Madagascan league, 2002 ![]() & this happened in the year 2k+; not even 20's or '30s. . . . incredible! |
dayokanu:Bottomline - UTD tossed his ass out with his 3-time South American kpali & berbasuck is still a UTD player - if e still dey pain carlito, make e go hang!? BTW, if e too sabi play y Bayern no bring d money buy am. . . . Barca, Madrid, Chelsea, Inter, AC nkor ![]() Shior ![]() |
Omo. . . . i ready to set my money sey Cameroon go beat Egypt dis time. Obviously y'all didn't see the last Cameroon game, finally R.Song was benched Glory to Jesus & Honor to Mary along with Geremi & Emana - Idrissou started, Webo came in and was very influential; and Eto'o had a free-flowing role again. The central defence is now a bit more solid, with younger, pacier lads in there; A. Song can now move a bit further up the park, doesn't have to sit deep and try to cover for his uncle all the time - L. Nguemo can drop in behind him & cover if need be - A.Bikey is on the bench for defensive backup. This is the perfect setup for the Lions, they've finally got the balance right & the confidence is there - so far in this competition, they're the only team thats shown the ability to fight back consistently & with Egypt, there's an ax to grind - bad timing for the Pharoahs, they are meeting an indomitable lion team that is finally finding its feet! |
presido1:Berbatov too big for Carling Cup. . . . ask Tevez im sef go testify ![]() |
Bros abeg go sit down . How would you feel if your co-worker told your boss you where not worth a pay-rise. I am sure you saw the difference between Berbatwat and Don Carlitos on Tuesday?? Part 2 na next week
this was said after Tevez had left. . . . . plus, i don't think SAF made his decisions on G.Neville's recommendations!?Giggs made similar comments about UTD not being worried about CR7 and CT32 exits, why im no open mouth follow Giggs drag, na Abu Dhabi gan'gan go give am the query wih im 2 hand. . . . abegi make tevez keep quiet, abi to play 4 UTD still dey hunger am - i can imagine, but it is a pity! Make im try maybe next season na Galatasaray or Olympiakos go dey manage am ![]() |
what is wrong with G.Neville stating his personal opinion UTD refused to sign u, live with it - fi' le & focus on other things!Carlito is taking this thing too far - haba, he should learn how to keep his mouth shut, enough has been said already. If its mind-games, the UTD crew is not 1's he should be messing with plus the game is far from over - imagine after all this boo'ga, city lose woefully at OT, how is he gonna save face ![]() |
Premier League - Tevez: Neville is an idiotwhat is wrong with G.Neville stating his personal opinion UTD refused to sign u, live with it - fi' le & focus on other things!Carlito is taking this thing too far - haba, he should learn how to keep his mouth shut, enough has been said already. tkb417:No worry. . . . we go all see am with we own eyes ![]() |
@ tkb, chic2pimp. . . its not about form or who plays better - its more of the luck of the green; Egypt have been scoring successes over Cameroon in previous meetings but fate always evens these things out in a very painful way, call it karma. . . . take Gabon-Cameroon for instance, at some point Gabon was always gonna take their pound of flesh. am sure the pharaoahs are already seeing the writing on the wall. @ Dayo, i think its just about the same principle that CAF has applied here! |
The rule applied was this: Highest Goals scored between concerned teams i.e Zambia, Cameroon & Gabon Zambia scored 4 goals against both Cameroon & Gabon (2, 2) Cameroon scored 3 goals against Zambia & Gabon (3, 0) Gabon scored 2 goals against Zambia & Cameroon (1, 1) Make any sense ![]() that was how the SS3 guys worked it out & i figure that is what CAF used to decide cuz its there in the guidelines for deciding these situation - check the CAF website, u'll see it. either ways, commercially CAF do not suffer from this becuz CMR-NGR or CMR-EGY is sure to be a sell-out anyday! |
the unhappiest race in Africa at the moment will be the Pharaohs. . . . . my oh my, they have just been screwed by CAF - no world cup and now,Lions stand in the way of their AFCON progress ![]() |
just heard kalusha bwalya (Zambia FA president) live on SS3 say that CAF has confirmed to him that Zambia tops and play naija while Cameroon take on Egypt. So it is fact! |
It makes sense this way. EUROSPORT still has Zambia on top of Group D. I actually think Cameroun is very beatable, they've conceeded 5 goals in the tournament, if we have a coach who's able to read games, we should win them.
n-guage. . . . even eurosport records 5 goals for Zambia - so are u saying they made a mistake!? head2head cannot apply in this kind of 3-way situation! |
Head2head seperated them Cameroon 3-2 over Zambia the deciding factor. . . . Gabon jabo' cuz of only 2 goals scored. . . . head2head could not be applied all the way cuz 1 beat the other, who beat the other, who went on to beat the other - geddit ![]() |

All united have done is being barely able to pay the interest on the loans. They have only been able to pay back £9m of the senior debt capital after receiving upfront almost half of the Aon sponsorship (which doesnt begin till august) and selling CR last year. Are they going to sell CR again this year? Go and look at the financial statements before you start deluding yourself like if your club is printing money. If you can barely pay your interest bill, means you cannot pay your debt.
