Well, from UTD's perspective, it certainly was - big time!

I just sat there in front of the TV waiting for my team to raise their game and make a match of it - they just couldn't. . . . . . . really disappointing!

if there are english words like controversial statements, controversial decissions, match fixing etc related to football then platini has some explainations to make.
if uefa can sneak a referee out of a country, then the officiating has a question mark. in football, we have had situations where refrees come back to either appologies to the victimised teams or confess foul play.
what will u say if the refree for the finals go to the press and tell them that he likes man u so and that he likes their way of playing?
for the fact that u are occupying such a sensitive position, you do not allow your sentiments to overtake ur sense of reasoning.
as a leader, u do not allow the people u lead to have doubts about ur abilities.
who was the last uefa president? and did people complain about his position in the same manner.
if platini continues this way, he will not last in that position.
he must learn to be neutral as a leader in sports.

Well, not all of em suck - Bode Oguntuyi is pretty good and vast. . . . . covers the local ligue, women's football, basketball, cricket and some really very unsual stuff and he's really improved on the stammer; you can hardly notice it!

The Deji's are tight - not football encyclopaedia's but their unbiase is very appealing; they tend to call it straight down the middle most times and i think thats fantastic!

The other fine boy - Wale or something - and the other two guys that come on regularly either as anchor or guests aren't so bad.

Temisan is in it to add some razz i guess - he's kind'a like a showman, to add some spice / excitement!

The chic that comes up every now and then _{<whatever her name is>} doesn't know a whole lot, but she does try her hardest!

Most times, its the ex-footballers that come on as guests that make the shows a bit bland - they just lack the substance to get their thoughts out right even though might have a good knowledge of whats transpiring!

What i would like to see on HiTV is the pair of Godwin Enavwherna and ^{whats that other fine boys name now} - one's good, a sport journalist to the core and the other's just an enthusiast - their debates are pretty hilarious and very good-natured for two who support different ideals. . . . . . . something thats very rarely seen in sports!

All in all, i'll say to our standards. . . . . . its okay!

All i'm g'onna say is, you're defintely right on some counts, i'm not a fan of the EPL, i'm a UTD faithful. . . . . I love the La Liga teams, I adore some of the portuguese and am impressed by the Bundesliga - i still believe that the average teams in those leagues are by far better than the average EPL teams and their standard of play is light years ahead but the fact stands that tomorrow night, like or not, a team from the EPL will emerge as Europe's very best and you'll just have to live with that for a whole season or more to come!


Back to issues at hand - Michel Platini. . . . . . he can say whatever he likes as long as he doesn't take it to the extent of fixing matches for his beloved teams!

Don't think we UTD fans would complain much becuz we've been in situations before when football officials / managers have made comments of such nature in our favor.

Chelsea played an excellent defensive game - what they didn't have was the players that could cause problems on the break. . . . . . a luxury Barca will not have in the final.

For me, it boils down to the managers - Guardiola's g'onna have the test of his life Wednesday night! He just can't afford to approach UTD the way he did Chelsea - but does he know any better

People just have to understand that when such a person speaks; he could either be speaking as a "man" - his own personal views; or as an "officer" - official statements of the office holder.

This is purely a statement that expresses his personal views - remember, UEFA is not a 1-man organization like CHELSEA!
