elampiro:What exactly does Welbeck do!? He hardly shoots... He doesn't play close to the goalkeeper... Bla, bla, bla...! |
elampiro:Simple question and you dey write me bible chapter... |
elampiro: Danny Welbeck: Arsenal striker hits back at his criticsWe can criticize his finishing, we watch him all the time... He misses at a rate directly proportional to score rate of CR7. 4 goals in 5 games looks very pretty on paper... Maybe they should include how many shots or chances were spurned before the 4 went in! |
elampiro: Welbeck just challenged Costa, Benzenma, Aguero, Balotelli, etc, to play from the wing and see how many goals they can score. May be including Ibrahimovic.Arsenal legend TH14 that Welbeck is being likened to, played and scored most of his goals from where!? |
Dadehmola: But if na moyes, we would have read lengthy epistles on how carrington training complex has been turned into a boot camp ![]() |
If Tony Hibbert is on the starting line-up for Everton on Sunday, then we have a big, big chance! ![]() |
coogar: ruudie is jealous of welbeck.I am way better at my day job than he is at his... so, absolutely no need! coogar: no one here said welbeck is better than hernandez so i dunno why you brought this comparison. however, hernandez going to madrid is a loan deal. welbeck said he didn't want any loan deal & if he's not going to play at united, then they might as well sell him.Elampiro brought this up. My point is, if he is all that as many want to paint him - perhaps he would be in Madrid now, not in N. London! |
So Welbeck scores a hattrick finally - which was always gonna happen someday anyway - and some peeps are getting hard and spewing sp3rm all over the thread!!? Even f3cking Nicklas Bendtner scored a UCL hattrick gaddamit! UTD put Hernandez and Welbeck on the market same time - Real Madrid came for one and Arsenal for the other... that there folks tells you the 'value' of both! |
coogar: someone should bring ruudie here. all i need right now is ruudie. Why didn't you call for me when he reset Big Ben in front of a gaping goal at the weekend!? |
Danhumprey: On the other hand,it took Falcao less than a month to understand and gel with RVP and the two players look like they have been playing together for decades. RVP's last two goals this season were Falcao's assists. Falcao still doesn't have a goal to his name since joining Man.United, but he has been selflessly assisting RVP.You have a point - on one of these recent games, RVP had a chance to shoot at goal but opted to pass to Falcao instead. The two appear comfy together. |
SIRcumalot: I'll still pick Johnny evans and jones if they can just remain fit over RojoOnly on the basis that they have more UTD and EPL experience. Otherwise, Rojo is 'finer' player with a good dose of grit. I believe with time, Rojo will win over fans who have doubts! |
coogar: lest i forget.....rojo got pilloried last week at leicester but i must say he was very good last night.Mark my words, this guy is going to be up there with the very best defenders that have worn the UTD shirt, ever! |
I just tire when people try to deflect attention away from Rooney's 'failings' by bringing up RVP... |
Some of these refs surely have something against UTD... why wasn't Sakho sent off for doing twice what Rooney did once. But Rooney sha... just trip the man; no need for such a 'high' kick. On the positive side, game time for Falcao+Mata!? ![]() |
ElFenomeno1: Suicide...Ok. So what's your point... Would you rather have 'suicide' nearer or farther off from your team's goal? |
We've just gotta score first and of course, score plenty. Left to me, I wouldn't risk going for inexperience or 'makeshift', especially if it is going to be a back-3 again. I still advocate a Rojo-Blind swap - Rojo to midfield in front of the back 3 and Blind behind him at CB. |
Against QPR, we played that same diamond with mata at the top of it. That's why he scored and had 2-3 good chances. I still believe Rojo will be better of where Blind is... And Blind moves into defense. He can pass better from there than all the other guys. |
@ capriconian. God bless you for those very good questions... No need for plenty talk, the 'honest' answers to 'em explains the grievances of many towards Rooney here. Ask the same questions of CR7, LM10, robben, bale, ribery etc and compare. But of course, trust certain people to launch into epistles and mindless arithmetic lessons. |
Skentele Skontolo... by the Masked one - Omo baba mukor mukor himself ![]() |
elampiro: If it is intelligence, why is Kagawa not the world best player? Or Pirlo? Who was more intelligent than Scholes?Well... You're entitled to your own tuppence! |
PietroRico: I even thought u were talking of central defence.Compared with Jones, Fellaini, Blind... Rojo is faster - and passes the ball better than all bar Blind; plus he is a touch more aggressive! |
chrisley024: I'd not think of Rojo when we've Fellaini and Jones.Very easy to be r*ped right now by anyone at the moment. We have wing-backs who are supposed to be more offensive than defensive and are way too far from their own half when the ball is lost on another part of the park... even worse when you have central midfielders who simply refuse to foul the opponents to stop their progress. |
chrisley024: Are u serious with this u wrote? PietroRico: I haven't seen enough of rojo to conclude anything about him tbh.Yes, I am serious... in defensive midfield we need to have players who are not afraid to foul the opponent high up the pitch. Maybe it is still early days, but Blind, Carrick, Herrera these guys are way to 'gentle', focusing more on how to 'intercept' and win the ball cleanly forgetting that a certain degree of dirty is allowed too. UTD need a 'destroyer' and I mean that literally! Someone to just sit there and STOP the invaders getting in legally or otherwise. Its like we forget that sometimes committing a foul contributes to breaking up whatever momentum that the opposition is building. Earlier folks mentioned Nigel De Jong as a candidate to buy - what exactly would De Jong have brought besides this!? If Jones can do it, fine... but for me, Rojo is it! |
@ pietroRico The short-term answer for me is using Rojo's aggression and ability to commit fouls to full effect in the middle of the park and use Blind more at LB/LWB or CB. He (Rojo) may pick up a few cards along the way, but I think some of the opposing players will also be mindful that they may be one 'Rojo-tackle' away from an injury! |
SailorXY:Which other UTD way are you talking about? Pass wide to the wingers and deliver crosses into the box - how is that different from hoofing it up-field from the back to a big target man crazy-dons style ![]() Anyway, I meant is an alternative in situations that have gotten dire; especially when we eventually get to Europe! |
ElFenomeno1: As things stand, i think RVP should be made the scape goat.... One game, lets see Falcao and Rooney! If we are truly honest with ourselves, we will see that there's only one thing about UTD that hasn't changed over the years - from the twilight years of SAF, Moyes and now to LVG. we have 'scape-goated' many but yet still haven't really 'changed'! So if we really want to 'change' and actually do something different, then that 'constant' has to removed! |
chrisley024: LvG should pls add Fellaini to the bench if he's fit for when the ball starts flying in the air.Seconded - a plan B is very much needed - and route-1 footie can be very productive atimes if you got someone who can play it well ![]() |
elampiro: World greatest footballers ever have played with pace and power. The greatest assets of these guys is INTELLIGENCE not pace and power! De Lima once said to Carlos Queiroz when he complained that he was eating too much, "Mister, I am a footballer not a sprinter..." Pace + power without brains is just so ANTHONY VALENCIA-ish... and these guys were / are not that! |
Fussbot: Seriously?nobody is complaining about de gea?Nah. Sounds more like a certain Courtois ![]() |
ElFenomeno1: So what is LVG's job again? What are his remit as the manager of MUFC?I've repeatedly said, Rooney's case might well be as a result of "off-field" influence rather than on-field... come to think of it; Moyes too had the same issue, now it is LVG. So there is something there - perhaps on the commercial/financial side. if UTD get a new "brand face", we may get to see some changes... anybody remember how "#20" was trending 2 seasons back!? |
coogar: a number-10 has to be clever, nimble, agile and must have vision. rooney should be playing like coutinho.....he doesn't even have the common sense to play the required weight of pass.I'd have said he should try to imitate D. Silva... but clearly that would be like asking Santa to come around with his bag of goodies every day of every year! |
Odunharry: NO BACKBONE , NO LEADERSHIPMata most definitely will bench a lot but he will always be the "first choice" to sub any of the forward men - so I'd imagine he wouldn't be too unhappy with this because he will play but just may not start many games. Another thing is, I think LVG likes and appreciates what he can offer; don't think I've heard any complaint against him thus far! |
