chrisley024: Players are more likely to fear him than Moyes. They know his pedigree. Just watchout the way he sieves this team.If the management/board don't give a manager total control, complete command and confidence then the so-called pedigree is just that... another English word! Ask Jose Mourinho! |
elampiro: Are you for real? Less than 15m?Most players at that price are still relatively unknown and are likely to be more motivated for success! Where did we unearth Vidic from? Where did Dortmund find Lewandowski? Falcao? Rakitic? This is mostly why I sided with Moyes; I am sure he can find and bring those sorts to UTD. |
montelik: I remember when Fellaini was being mooted as a signing, most people were saying we should just sign him anyway, regardless of price or whether he really filled a void. Look how that turned out. Then the same attitude to breaking the club record for Mata, even though we had more pressing needs and were stocked in that position. Now the same attitude again with potentially signing Di Maria.I agree with you - if we are going to buy anybody at all, it should be relatively cheap, < 15m and defence minded . |
chrisley024: They will fear LvG unlike Moyes. He just set an example with NaniWhich example...? Sporting ASKED for Nani and we needed Rojo. If this is the case; I can as well say the players were going to FEAR Moyes because he made an example with Anderson abi! |
PietroRico:Well, 'popular' opinion isn't always right! In sacking Moyes too soon , we set an unsavoury precedence. Just imagine if these players decide to 'usurp' LVG's plans because they do not like his training approach or worse still, demeanour; what do you think will happen!? In my opinion, these players didn't love SAF , they FEARED... why!? His word was LAW! Why!? The management was behind him 100% from the get go! |
PietroRico: Interesting quote from LvG meanwhile. codedguy1: ![]() Very good... when I said free Moyes and direct some ire at this players at least; that they were not being professional and giving their ALL - peeps wouldn't listen. "These guys just won the ligue 8 months ago", "bla bla bla", "Moyes does dinosaur training" etc. If we are not careful, LVG too will lose his "dressing room"; what happens then!? Chelsea v2. I know nobody will even try to reason with me - but sacking Moyes was a GRAVE MISTAKE! |
Sevilla were linked with a move for Croatian central midfielder Milan Badelj earlier this summer, now they’re reportedly a step closer to making his signing a reality. 25-year-old Milan Badelj is a player that Sevilla sporting director Monchi has long admired, with the player amongst the leading candidates in his shopping list, to strengthen their midfield options.

Sevilla doubled up with player presentations on Tuesday, as both Gerard Deulofeu and Éver Banega officially unveiled before the media

Nihilist: Rojo fits what profile?Off all those present lot in UTD's squad, Rojo fits the profile... hold your horses, he is here now; in a few weeks, after some games, we will revisit this! |
teeo: Fellani just injured his ankle in training. for how long we dont know yet. Another gbegeOh my... it must be a long-term side effect of 'rigorous' David Moyes' training regime!!! |
SailorXY: oh wellA fvcking PITBULL thats what... a downright mean, tenacious, blood-curdling mother0fvcker. I don't even care if he can kick the ball or play a simple pass - if he can kick the opponents with clean, deadly accuracy and break some limbs every now and then; that will suit me just fine! Heck, Vidal don't even cut it for me; Rojo fits the profile small - I will come up with other names! |
As far as I'm concerned, everything is alright now... we've got Rojo. Now the 'new system' has really started! First choice defence line: x - Rojo - Y * x, y = I don't bloody care who First choice CM three should be: ** Fellaini - * Mata (Kagawa) - ** Herrera * Mata (Kagawa) a bit further ahead of the others ** Given special instructions to hack down opposing players 'recklessly' (and I mean that literally) First choice wingbacks: Young - Valencia (Welbeck, Januzaj, Lingaard, Rooney, any-bloody-body-else can sub) First choice strike force: Rooney - RVP (Chicharito sub) If we keep spending like maga, we will set ourselves back another 2 seasons before we jell. This bunch of players is all we've got at the moment - and we have to make 'em work by hook or crook! Squad consistency has been a big factor why we've been 'relatively' successful all these past years. I said it before that under Moyes, the players should take a huge part of the blame, that they needed to man up. But heck, we all had a vendetta against the man and shielded the players while giving him a torrid time... Now he is no more and the stewp!d !d!ots are still threatening to serve us the same ol' BullSh!t!? Somebody should go get SAF's hair-dryer and put it where these lads can see everyday as a reminder - at this very moment, they owe their lives to the badge on their uniforms; so they better get their head outta their asses, play and win like MANCHESTER UNITED! |
Sporting Lisbon fans have been dishing the dirt on Rojo for the benefit of a United fans' forum. If what they say is accurate then two things seem clear: he is still not quite the finished article, but Van Gaal is as good a man as any to turn a hugely talented player into one of the world's best defenders. Here's what they had to say:Name one defender who isn't prone to positional errors and concentration lapses every now and then...? A "nutcase" I totally want; we have way too many "soft" players abeg! |
coogar: our biggest issue is our injury curse. we can sign the whole madrid players & barca players, of what use would they be if they cannot be fit to play. as we speak, we have 8 or 9 first team players injured & that has been the case for more than 7 seasons now.Hold it there just one minute, young man! Last season, you 'cussed Moyes to the high heavens, blaming his choice of training methods... now, it is 'horrible' luck!? *S M H* |
chrisley024: Rojo has managed to pick up 21 yellow cards and 4 red cards in 49 league games.Nope. Not temper... this is exactly something we need; a 'fighter', 'warrior'... a "I-will-beat-the-living-day-light-out-of-your-b!tch-a$$-if-you-come-forming-papparazi-in-my-hood" type n!gga!!! |
afrodoc: There is too much pressure on Van Gaal to turn water to wine with this mediocre bunch we have hereBeautiful... You think LVG has pressure!!? Me thinks not. Because the kind of barrage David Moyes was getting at the moment from all corners of the globe compares to nothing this man is facing at the moment. LVG is lucky... UTD fans are doing for him what they should have done for Moyes despite after SAF's appeals - making the job easier before making it harder ! |
Fussbot: @lekki i meant rojo is not any different from blackett like seriouslyI am telling you Rojo will be the next darling of UTD fans - quote me on this any day. He is the sort of player that can raise the temperature of an arena with one crunching tackle . He is not short on confidence and by the time he gets familiar with this new environment, we will see how he will make his 'larger than life' presence felt. I foresee that young man taking over from where Vidic stopped; he will be made captain! Yeah, I know its only Rojo (a largely unknown quantity) but I think we've found our man! |
Its also good that the Nani swap is a loan deal... he seriously needs that breathe of fresh and I believe he will return better. Nani is a fantastic footballer; he will bounce back! |
I like Rojo... there's nothing overly exceptional about him truly; but he is one helluva 'feisty' character. Something Jones, Smalling, Evans and Blackett, for all their ability, aren't. The sort of individual that can make a striker a tad too tread carefully when he is close. Just look at how dull Smalling, Jones, Blackett and Evans look - I don't even think anybody is scared of them sef! I mean, I want a defender who is not scared of tackling - our guys now just ball watch and keep backing up towards our goal, afraid to concede a free-kick. If Rojo brings all that 'fearless' energy to the fore... folks, he may just be looking at our next UTD legend! |
coogar: that is because some pundits will never agree the fat scouser is an overrated featherweight! 11 seasons at united and yet he's never made the top 5 in ballon d'or or FIFA player award. That's how highly he is regarded nowadays... well, our elder talk am - in the country of the blind... ... ... |
"Our wins in the United States and our win against Valencia... The expectations are so high -- and I felt that in the first half because I saw a lot of players very nervous, making the wrong choices. That's a pity," Van Gaal told a news conference.I can safely interpret the bolded to mean he hasn't given Woodward any comprehensive "wish-list" as yet! |
TheBigUrban2: True talk ![]() |
elampiro: * I always think when Rooney is played as a top 9, he's being under utilized. To play him in top two with Chicha is a shortage to the team. Under SAF or Moyes, Rooney would have dropped deep today.Na wah oh. When dem play Rooney anywhere else apart from striking position, e go vex! Dadehmola: From the look of things, the defence might not be our only concern if our no10 isn't ontop of his game - We may actually find ourselves struggling to create chances. I can't remember Swansea'a keeper having any save to make that's worthy of mention. That we played at home even makes it worse. After just one game; bros calm down na... Anyway na LVG get fvck up. If Mata wasn't performing, he had the option to replace him with Kagawa or Januzaj; or replace him with Welbeck so that Rooney drops back into the hole and Welbeck and Chicha can pair upfront. Like I said before, if to sey na Moyes - thread for don enter 1000 again! |
Dadehmola: How exactly should he justify his salary in a match like this? By scoring(like he did), and then racing 100yards to take the place of young- the-m0r0n in the buildup to the 2nd goal we conceded? No. He should watch and emulate what the likes of Ronaldo and Messi do almost week in week out every season; then and only then, will he have justified the massive investment and trust UTD have put on him! |
But folks really dig this LVG fella oh. I remember the reaction when Moyes 'accidentally' shifted Valencia to RB in one of our games and we lost with the decisive action and goal coming from that part of the field... |
montelik: I am not calling for him to loaned out or criticizing him, he was one of the main reasons we equalized. Just noting that as of now he has more of the style of a winger. No doubt with time he will mature and maybe become a true no 10. But I see his development going more like a Giggs or CR7 rather than a Nedved or Mata as of now. With big money, valuation or rating comes big responsibility. This is why I will continue to berate our 'big names' - Rooney, Mata, RVP etc they are the ones. Even CR7 and Messi (with their near-perfect consistency) get 'verbally assaulted' sometimes on the rare occasions when their teams lose. |
Dadehmola: Rooney should leave the hole for the specialists. Rooney isn't good enough for the hole. I agree.Mata was poor simple, no excuses. But if you want me to get excited because Rooney scored one goal, I am sorry I cannot! I simply would be glorifying mediocrity!!! This is my reason - Rooney is close to or probably on the same plane as certain 'top performers' clearly viewed as the standard in these times. In this light, when hope is lost all but lost, I look to my 'talisman' to conjure up something individually - sadly, he never does! |
coogar: at least, buying vidal now is a must! no more patching up & structuring up. all that possession in the first half but nothing to show for it.Scratch Vidal jare... he'd better buy some defenders - Smalling, Jones - smh; Blackett, I can forgive! And BTW, it is LVG's fault - no double standard's here please - even the 'clueless one' got 3pts with a defence the combined age of methusellah, slow-mo Carrick in m/f and DW19 in attack. |
About Rooney... I will say again and again and again! To whom much is given, much is expected!!! If we have to place him on a pedestal with the very best, he has to play and earn it now . It is not by what you've done in the past (I get am before). Otherwise, he is no different from Valencia Young we berate every day! |
LVG... Welcome to the EPL! |
Just fvcking win Van Gaal... the "do as I say" can come in later! |
They are so far from each other when they make this passes... players need to 'show' for each other so the passes will be shorter and crisper. Meen... dis guys still get plenty to learn! |
