mcfarlin: Hmmm...okay even if by any miracle messi and cr7 are available what's ur reason for picking messi above cr7?I may be wrong but I see Messi getting better with age because he can be primed to play that "Xavi" / "Riquelme" / "Zidane" role; athleticism will take the back-seat and intelligence comes to the fore... and boy, that short-man devil get mad vision and the brain inside dat him small head, walahi na software and chips dey work am! I think CR7 will struggle when he starts to age and lose his pace, a bit like Henry and Giggs - and I doubt if he has what it takes to 're-invent' himself in a new role like our legendary flying, Welshman wing-man! Bale is very similar. Di Maria is another pacy player who seems to be a bit more 'adaptable' - as in can play relatively effectively in CM where pace isn't much of a vital requirement as against being a winger. |
mcfarlin: Why not if we can pay the fat boy(rooney)that much how much more an extremely talented genius like c.boy. JayKayMaybachz: Gimme 1/2 reason why CR7 would go to Chelsit ... He won't even it dream it ... he rather join psg or barca than Chelshit .... he doesn't even like the club one bit ... Man Utd are willing pay him more than what Real Madrid are curr currently paying him .... he knows so well that United can match his wage bills and he wouldn't want to come here when he's aged and outta form ... think bout that JayKayMaybachz: Manchester United Are Said To Be Willing To Pay CR7 £300,000 ...eff CR7 jor... give me Messi, play him in the CM-hole between two work-horse, ball-winners; behind a Di Maria, RVP, Falcao, Wazza attack! |
I still dey sorry for Arsenal... dem neva know the kain kaya wey dem carry so! |
Premier League - Wenger: We'd not have got Welbeck if I'd been in England - https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/football-wenger-cryptic-welbeck-signing-132139916--sow.html |
coogar: vidal is 50 times better......de rossi of 6 years ago was very very good but he's nosedived now. it's like comparing giggs to hazard.Guy. Vidal is 8-10 yrs behind De Rossi... De Rossi for me, any day any time! |
Saw him at Shoprite, Surulere... the guy was just going on his own oh and a couple of people started following. I don't think he ever publicly came out to declare that he is Hogan. But the resemblance is quite striking though! |
chrisley024: There should be a buy back clauseBuy back clause for who!!? ![]() Na Arsenal fans I dey sorry for; e no go tey, they will finally get to see the 'true' nature of what they have bought. |
Rojo and Blind... The only deals over the last 2 seasons I agree with. |
And yes, blame it ALL on LVG... |
coogar: you would rate valencia above?Typical Coogar. Always looking for who to hing the blame on... Valencia even gave us a hint of threat at least, otherwise why else did they keep passing the ball to that side of the field? |
And I do agree that Anderson should be given a chance... he still has some 'spark' left in him! |
Keky: Daley Blind is interesting because both Rojo and him are versatile, but not top tier, both 24, can make the step up, but I'm still laughing.I prefer the Blind and Rojo type signings because they come relatively cheap and hence not much pressure from expectations... Di Maria, Mata, Herrera etc now that is hard on the players because they are expected to perform "miracles" instantly and this puts more pressure on everyone. |
Shuo. When last did Anderson, Chicharito, Kagawa and Evans get any serious playing time...!? Omo lets cut these guys some slack jor! For me, when everybody is fit - I'd use Anderson and Herrera as my defence-minded midfielders and also Evans at the back. These guys still have much to offer. |
Well, we were never going to hit the ground running straight off because most likely after a mjor changer, it gets worse before it gets better... take heart fellas, we will bounce back! |
firstEVA: Women are not scared of handsome guys neither are they intimidated by them, if you are the most handsome man on earth and a broke arse nigga, sorry dude, girls will rather go for a gorrila looking money bag than you, so abeg park wellShuo. See beef... It is okay for a girl to say "I am beautiful" and flaunt it like tomorrow no dey; but omo-boy wey believe himself does the same and you dey vex!? Madam park well put for one side jor! |
codedguy1: We should buy cattermole |
coogar: sunderland? If by some incredible stroke of bad-luck, we end up buying Lee Cattermole, I will be the happiest UTD fan in the universe... he simply epitomizes EVERYTHING we lack at the moment...! |
chrisley024: Our game is slower than a snailI have said this before too... hardly works for the EPL. So if Di Maria comes, he too will be strolling about like this!? |
montelik: If we sign Di Maria and do not address the glaring imbalances in the squad, it will have the same effect as when we signed Mata and actually played worse in the 2nd half of the season. But I am no longer going to comment on this sham till the window closes. It was quite easy to agree with you up until that point! I don't get it... "Woodward will wreck this club", how!? Like he is buying Di Maria all on his own without consultations or approval from someone or somewhere else? Why the reluctance to criticize LVG? |
elampiro: Where is that poster that was talking about confident statements!? |
Madrid jack Di Maria fee up to 75m GBP...!!? https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/premier-league-real-madrid-di-maria-asking-price-102757244--sow.html Abeg e don reach time pull out and find something else do with dis money... if we donate am sef to ebola victims, e go too make sense! |
Liam @OffsideLiam ESPN are saying Blind is close to signing as well as another CM , with Di María signing too - it'll be a fantastic end to the window. |
Wetin dey pain me sef na the money... Di Maria 60-70 million, Vidal 45-50. God punish dem, wetin dem dey play!? I swear e dey pain like sey na my money! ![]() |
If you vex too much, "IKILL" yourself! |
afrodoc: How can anyone can say sacking david moyes and appointing louis van gaal as manager was a mistake?I can... and I will keep saying it till the day I am vindicated! Yeah right... the Almighty LVG --- turning wingers to defenders, offering huge sums of cash + players in exchange for just 1 player --- that is some morale-booster. The same one never man enough to take responsibility for anything unless its a victory . And yes of course, the much regaled 3-5-2 with slow, walking-pace tippy-tappy that only works with 'select' teams outside the EPL. Talk about "mistake signings", two of 'em are in OT receiving crash courses in the medical profession... and by the way, isn't he reported to have training methods far gruesome than that of Moyes!? Yep, I saw how so confident and assured he was when he "practised what he preached" by sticking to the "master tiki-taka 352" against the swans to the death! As far as I'm concerned LVG is a mistake... an attempt to appease 'restless', SAF-era fans like you! |
elampiro: Next week will be rough.I hope this is just rumour. Assuming this deal doesn't get through - I wonder how Hernandez will feel. UTD have just not given this young man a chance! |
MrTA: Thats' false. We wanted big money signings but no fan said spend £27m on Fellaini. Every fan i know thought that was ridiculously overpriced so i dont know eher you got that from. And i guess it proves even more that he wasnt the man for the job when he started bowing to fan pressure.Pre-season aside, from all that is happening now, I can just as easily conclude that LVG isn't the man for the job! |
ElFenomeno1: Only a few.... Those players you listed will most likely be a gamble......... higher risk if it goes pear shapedThere is risk in everything - even the so-called "big money" buys may not cut it. I am suggesting UTD go for the relatively experienced players at a bargain price; they are out there if only clubs would be patient. I didn't even know who David Alaba was a few years ago... Arturo Vidal, Gundogan, Stroot-what!!? Me, I am all for making our own "big names" as against buying every tom, d!ck and harry that comes with a big ego and price tag attached. The UTD I know didn't do too much of that in her hey-day. I don't even think buying "big" will not sort this present UTD out... I believe starting "small or moderate" and getting that consistency of old back is the key! |
ElFenomeno1: In this day and age, where are you going to get that from?!Spurs close to getting Fazio from * Sevilla... 10m - solid, no-nonsense defender with European experience. Moreno to Liverpool, how much? 12m. Revisit to the Euro super-copa final and watch the Sevilla #4 - Polish dude, Krychowiak - that was his first ever game, only been with the team about a week or so, 4.5m. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJEpWZSSEOc *note: next to UTD, Sevilla is the only other side I really follow! Dude... they are out there. We seriously need Monchi (google him)! |
MrTA: He certainly unearthed the £27m unknown belgian and the £37m unknown Spaniard for us.You (the fans) forced his hand into making "big money" signings! |
chrisley024: Why wouldn't they? They know they have the power to get a manager sacked... a couple of bad results, that's usually all it takes! |
elampiro: Pls try and move past Moyes. I also sided with him and I still think he was a victim of circumstance. If you put he preseason under him vs Gaal's you will still see a clear difference. chrisley024: Naah. Moyes was after Fabregas, Bale and Ronaldo and peeps were blaming Woodhead.UTD is a BIG TEAM no doubt - but it wasn't buying BIG PLAYERS every other transfer window that made UTD big - it was making BIG TEAMS from largely AVERAGE players that made UTD big. At best, a couple of big-name players (stars if you like) mixed with a handful of honest, hard-working 'commoners' that was UTD. Chadwick, Saha, Johnsen, Oshea, Silvestre, Brown, Fortune, Djemba-Djemba, Butt - c'mon these folks played for UTD and won stuff - hardly the very best in the world if you ask me! This was probably the singular, most influential factor in the selection of Moyes. But from the off, we were never going to have it "The Moyes Way". All the talk was about "Moyes' small club mentality", "UTD is a BIG-TEAM" and "Baines, Mirallas, Coleman, Pienaar etc is not UTD standard" rants... and so on! He went after those guys as a result of the associated pressure; from fans and media alike. I hardly think he'd have gone for a Fab or Kroos - when there are cheap, decent options littered everywhere from Sarajevo to Mogadishu! |
