Kenya paved road network is slightly bigger than that of joburg, Nairobi is out of the picture. BRT in Johannesburg is on its 2nd decade, infrastructure is not even close.

Kenya has long way to get to South Africa current level - earliest 15yrs. Kenya has to triple it GDP.
Nairobi metro has some way to get to Gauteng.

Nairobi is very close to Joburg.
Pop 4.5M versus 5.5M - infrastructure, housing, name it -- very very close.
In 5yrs - Nairobi will have China like 20-30 floors highrises of 500,000 units
Road network will be as good...with BRTs and all.
Office, malls, hotels and such will be at par
The rail network - we just need big upgrade of nairobi commutter rail.

Crazy logic. First have reliable and stable electricity for basic stuff (QOL). Then move on to industrialization and mining. Your Eskom troubles cannot be wished away. Right now, neither homes nor industries nor mines have enough electricity. The economy is projected to "grow" at 1% at best - less than pop growth - at least for next 3yrs - thanks to Eskom.
