Most well planned city in Africa.
Capital of Nigeria The Giant of Africa and future Great Power.
Headquarters of ECOWAS, arguably the most Successful block on the continent.
Projects and contruction galore including an addition of a whole new city.
Yes, the last photo is a render................ of the future. Dead city for civil servants like you.Everything still revolve around Lagos...a congested city where 75% live in slums and could do with billion of a investment being wasted in Abuja |

Mombasa is better than Abuja .It used to better than Dar and Kampala but those laggards have woken up.Nairobi is an international city. Its our oil.She brings the money that we share. You depend on South East oil.How can we spend money on Nairobi when she generate the money to finance kenya |

RealityShot: I HATE this thread with passion!
Why the mods and seun allow it, just baffles me! Misplaced hatred like hating the mirror.Learn to hate Nigerian political leadership that have wasted 1 trillion dollars of oil.Look at Kenya...barren semi arid and without any minerals... progressively moving ahead. The best gift humans have is their brain... use it.Dont hate the mirror. Its just reflect reality back.Kenya has its issues but by same time next year we will most likely be better. We have housing deficit that is serious..yours is even worse..but we are fixing it by attempting to build 0.5m housing units that will house 2-4m people.. nearly 10%.We have problems with our roads and rails..we are fixing them..in five years we are building more roads than we built in 50yrs.Our electricity connection access when this thread started was not even 30%..if Seun keep it longer...you see us overtake south Africa and have universal access...including a maasai herder in the remotest Kenya .We had formal banking access that was as bad as any part of Africa..now we are teaching the world how to leapfrog in matters fintech. |

Yobeezy: Which 64%? keep those lies to yourself and your fellow arrogant Nigerians. I've scoured over the internet to find where Nigeria's electrification rate is 64% but it's nowhere, am just getting 45%, not 55% as earlier because it was only urban electrification rate. I was a bit lenient on that, your electrification rate is 45%, when it comes to power keep quiet and hide in the river banks and leave only Kenyans and Ghanaians to talk on this sector. I wish somebody can direct me to Nigeria data and methodology for electricity access.Unless they counted generators...their electricity acess is around 20%...at least those with legal connection as per their electricity distribution companies.Maybe they define acess like India where anybody some meters from electric line is deemed to have acess. |

It actually NERC.Only 3.8m Nigerians have electricity meters but another 4.5m just consume as much power as they want. Most don't pay...they collect about 60% of their billings Even Somalia not as dysfunctional as the zoo https://allafrica.com/stories/201809070123.html |

Aderr: Because the map bust your lies then it can't be trusted. You brought it yourself thinking the 73 written there represents 73% instead of 73 million people. You people are really desperate. How do you sleep at night by the way? If you had 19m customers your disco won't be bankrupt. You real access is 23% and because the power is more often out than in...you can work with 10% of Nigerians enjoy clean electricity. |

https://energypedia.info/wiki/Kenya_Energy_Situation Kenya indeed started from such a low base and then conducted the world fastest electrification ever seen....faster than when US was electrifying in 1920-30s.You can learn from Kenya if Ghana is a hard to swallow. But first you need to fire Yemi Kale then conduct baseline survey to establish just how terrible the situation...then start crawling out of that rat hole slowly |

According to NERA all you DISCO had 9.5m customers mostly in urban areas where average Nigerian household is 4.5..do the maths.Kenya a small country utility company had 7.5m as we speak.Get the logic.Have some self respect and don't abuse our intelligence |

Aderr: No,you have 17million people out of 50 million. That's what your map says, buddy. You brought the map and this long nonsensical talk is unnecessary. it's not my map.its IEA energy outlook 2017.As of now 2019..I think only 3m households translating to 12-13m Kenyans do not have electricity. We are connecting more than 1m households annually translating to 4m people..so in 2yrs we will achieve universal electricity acess. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 5:42pm On Aug 17, 2019 |
Yobeezy: Your facts are wrong, Kenya's electrification rates is currently over 75% and I guess we're around 79-83% gauging from the intensive electrification programme which have been taking shape since 2017. Kenya is on the path of implementing last mile connectivity project to clinch 100% universal electricity access by 2022, just the recent launch of Africa's largest wind farm power project is a big player towards this ambitious project. Kenya is among the top ten tiers of renewable energy in the world.
While Nigeria's current electrification rate is 55%. 2030 is the year your government has dedicated to achieve universal electricity access a time when Kenya's electrification rates will be over 200% now that our government has also laid plans to invest in nuclear energy before 2028.
Electrification rates;
Ghana - 83% Kenya - 75-81% Nigeria - 55% Tanzania - 33%
Nigeria is 23% |

chrisagyei: That's the thing. As much as you have the capacity to pay your loans, you can borrow even far more than your GDP figures. GDP is just an estimated imaginative figure.Your annual revenue is the visible money you feel and get that determines your ability to service your debts which should not also affect your expenses on national infrastructure, recurring expenses and national development.Anyone can cook up or hype GDP figures but you can't fake your revenues and generations.Kenya is on the right track. Most developed countries have debts bigger than their GDP including Japan and USA. Ghana will continue to borrow until we max out,we will return to the IMF for prudent economic management and increase our credit credibility then we will resume back to excessive borrowing till we really close our infrastructure deficit which is 10 billion dollars annually. This year,we are spending 2 billion dollars on just road projects building over 6 interchanges, thousands of kilometres tarred roads and highways nationwide. We are working on a century bond of i think 50 billion dollars. After everything,we will sit down and relax and watch the infrastructure development pay for it's self. Then we will say we're a developed nation. This national plan will be achieved in the next 20-50 years. Just brilliant.I wished I could like this 10 times.I admire Ghana and Ghanians.Brilliant people.Ghana will most likely be the first SSA to become developed like they did independence.Ghana are ticking all the boxes including being the fastest growing economy in the world.Their democracy is worth copying. |

68816419: stop wasting ur time on these people, we have proved beyond any reasonable doubt that Kenya's economy is nothing close to 60$ billion. 60b economy cannot have budget of 30b with revenues of 20B.Banking asset's nearly 50B.We are nearly approaching 50B mobile money transaction value annually.Youre smoking something illegal. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 9:37am On Aug 06, 2019 |
68816419: Fool, tackle ur debts first, In 2019, Kenya debt had risen to an absolute amount of US$50 Billion against a GDP of US$98 Billion. This makes public debt level stand at 51% of GDP as of 2019. Nigeria's Government debt accounted for 16.1 % of the country's Nominal GDP in Dec 2018, compared with the ratio of 16.2 % in the previous year. Nigeria's government debt to GDP ratio data is updated yearly, available from Dec 1981 to Dec 2018. Meaning the debts are been properly serviced. Fake GDP..which is a figure concocted by your national statistics body... cannot repay debt.Your revenue..aka money in gov coffers to debt is what matters...and you're using 70% of your budget to service debt.Kenya is at 25-30%.Nobody is willing to loan Nigerian money equivalent to a GDP that size...like South Africa with nearly 300b dollars debt.. because nobody trust your figures.Kenya can leverage if it wants because creditors are willing to lend us money knowing we can repay |

chrisagyei: Nigeria is actually a useless country in my opinion so it pains me when some Nigerians try to criticize Ghana a country a country which is more progressive than their zoo.Look at this analogy. Its 1980,the population of Nigeria is about 73million people. They have a GDP of 64 billion dollars.Fast forward to 1985,just about five years later, the GDP shoots way downwards from 64 billion dollars to 28 billion dollars whilst the population increases to over 80 million.Fast forward 2015,Nigeria has a population of about 170 million people. GDP is over 550 billion dollars. Fast forward to 2018,three years later.GDP shoots down to 380 billion dollars and population is now over 200 million people. Do you call that progress or reverse.100%relying on a commodity called oil which never benefits the masses due to unprecedented corruption. very interesting.Yes outside Oil..there is nothing there. |

vaxx: Kenyans ( finnaly , my prediction comes true even far earlier than it is expected. MTN Nigeria ( Telecommunication network has been given the licence to operate as bank. it is a way of breaking into Nigeria mobile money block which failed to function. it is going to work now. "" MTN Nigeria, the country's largest telecoms operator, has been granted a “super-agent” license which allows it to set up an agent network through which it can provide financial services""
This is the end of traditional bank that failed to digitized their buisness. MTN bank will definitely be the largest financial service in Nigeria. ( first bank, zenith bank and GTB ) welcome a new competitor.
Digitized banking is the new big deal in africa. very good.nigerians policy wonks never get anything right |

however, in this regard , Ghana case is also excellent. since oil depit in quantity . Ghana has set up an heritage fund from the sales of oil cash for future generations.
""Ghana’s oil revenue inflow into the Heritage Fund has reached US$585,172,436.04 as at 2018, seven years after the country commenced commercial production of crude oil.
