TayserMahri:Do you know Nigerian has so much bitumen they just need to mine...but like Congo..long on promises..short on delivery |
Justnotyou:Well our first business would be to develop the industry...like Ghana has done...not become greedy like Uganda..who nearly 15yrs after oil discovery far from selling their oil.Uganda has merged with laggards Tanzania and everything slowed down.Oil companies will need to put lots of investment in pipeline and terminals..so hopefully Turkana can be a little patient and not sabotage this. |
Kenya join oil exporters with sale of 200,000 barrels for 12m dollars. This is early export scheme where oil is trucked from Turkana.Turkana to keep 30% of oil revenues and their fortunes as poverty stricken community will slowly change. |
gallivant:precisely. That is why 90% of them bleach their skin with dangerous mercury. And yet wake up black n very poor.Whites are not advanced because of their skin colour. They are advanced because of their ability to harness their brain power. They invest in human capital.. education, health and nutrition. |
Kazikazi:Electrified when you have power rationing already with 1700mws? Learn to crawl first before walking then running.Youre investing 3b dollars in hydro that is susceptible to droughts. The last hydro in Kenya was built about 20yrs ago.Today we added another about 100mw geothermal power.Power that is very stable and does not depend on rainfall. If it doesn't rain you will be on generators like Nigerians.Yet you have the great rift valley... just drill holes into it and pour water...the earth warmth will generate enough steams to turn turbines...earth never get cold so that is very stable and reliable power. |
Kazikazi:United States have been USA for what 200yrs or more. Are just stupid or Tanzanian |
Stevoh18:Kenya doing very well..I am shocked by TZ figures. |
tylann:They are building that sgr just to compete with Kenya. It being built from commercial loan from South African bank. That rail will never meet its operational cost because most of their cargo terminate at Darslums. |
Make Tanzania great when economy has tanked(3% growth rate), foreign investment dried up, when there is capital flight to Kenya and Tanzania Shilling has weakened. When gov has cracked down on media, opposition and anybody who disagree with current dictator. When donors are withholding critical funding for the poor. When gov is unable to nail down natural gas and Uganda pipeline deals. You don't just buy a few jets and think country is now great. That is like painting a lipstick on a pig.You using half the budget to service debt. That idiot of a president is urging you to breed like rats, is against pregnant girls continued schooling and hunts down gays in 21st century. He has stymied regional integration and trade.Give him another 10yrs and youll go bankrupt again.Making Tanzania Bankrupt Again is more original and truthful slogan. |
tylann:Something wrong with Nigerians.I don't think they are normal. |
theenchanter:What is important is that while you're shouting nonsense like your generators Kenya has attracted foreign investment to its energy sector and transformed herself while spending little. We don't care who own power stations..we care whether we have clean, affordable and reliable power. And the answer is obvious. Now give a break to your generator and go back to school. This time abroad. |
theenchanter:These are private investment. They are willing to invest billion dollars because they sign a power purchasing agreement with power distributor and gov treasury guarantee this. For example Lake Turkana wind was around 700M dollars foreign investment to supply 360w of wind power. When we delayed completion of evacuation line...thanks again to dodgy Spanish contractor going belly up.. treasury paid 40M dollars for idle power. But this year alone Turkana wind saved us 80m dollars of diesel or thermal power.Nigeria if it adopt this model would solve their power issues very easily while spending zero. But you gotta have brains..to think through this..not Bihari cattle rustling brain |
theenchanter:Look like they got stuck at 85%.Universal acess is 95%.Kenya has achieved huge strides in electrification using other people money. It called private public sector. All we do is to sign a 20 year supply guarantee and money flows.Kenya is very smart.8B dollars ivested from private investors already with another 14b dollars set to be invested in medium term. |
Kenya actually foreign investors line up 14B dollars to achieve universal electricity access in Kenya.Only South Africa in Sub Sahara boast of universal electricity acess https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/news/US--Europe-scramble-for-Kenya-energy-billions/539546-5214414-14ulnej/index.html |
5000 pages later the giant limp alongs as her situation get worse by day |
Kuruptnigga:I have watched one or two just out curiosity.same with Bollywood.I watched to see Nigerian daily life of generators, bad roads, horrible English and their endemic poverty. They got booring because the script is the same... witchcraft. |
Kuruptnigga:When did Hollywood died so I can watch you horrible witchcraft movies.Only illeterate house girls watch those movies. They are screened day time week days for that reason..when nobody is home except house girls. |
gallivant:That only thing they got going.I have seen them attack Ghanians for being black.Just imagine that.Black okay bleached Nigerian accusing other African for their natural appearance. No wonder the country is such a mess. |
Kazikazi:Copy pasting Trump.Seriously can't even come with a political slogan of your own. |
kikuyu1:We have tried to communicate sense to them in the most plain and basic English but all in vain.Should we try pidgin. |
Stevoh18:The way they're so dysfunctional even DRC will leave them alone in their miasma of grand illusion and delusion.Giant of poverty. Most African countries have honest debate, appreciate the depth of their problems and work towards resolving them. Not Nigeria.Just ask Ghanians who have dealt with them for longer...hopeless zoo. |
Stevoh18:very possible..Kenya, Ethiopia n even Tanzania are lifting millions out poverty..so that leaves Nigeria and DRC to share the poverty prize. The most insane thing both countries are blessed with incredible natural resources worth more than 24 trillion dollars each.Nigeria already cashed 1 trillion dollars from oil alone But with absolutely nothing to show. |
samorobo:When was that..from 2013 that story changed completely.I think nearly 95% of urban slum have electricity in Kenya now.https://www.standardmedia.co.ke › ... Slums the biggest source of new Kenya Power customers : The Standard |
68816419:Deal with transmission and billing otherwise your World most horrible power situation won't change. In Kenya we have invested about 8b dollars in 10yrs to generate clean renewable energy, expand access from 20% to nearly 80% and modernize transmission. And we just did that with less than 3000mw.Unless you're doing mining and say steel manufacturing you don't need a lot of power.Assume you are 200m with 40m household with 5 people per house. Each household at your level of poverty requires maybe 200kw of power daily. In developed world you may need 1KW.40m times 200w is about 8000mw if I am not wrong. That is all the power needed to ensure every Nigerian homestead has 24hrs of electricity. But you're a country of folks who cannot think...your best brains left on rickety boats for Europe and US.Obasanjo himself invested 16b dollars to generate 10000mws and instead of pausing n really thinking you're throwing the little oil money into another pit.Your budget now is a big as Kenya. |
Nigeria power problem is not lack of power.Obasanjo invested billion dollars on that and you theoretical have 12,000mw of installed capacity. The problem is nobody turning the turbines. You have about 3000mw peak supply. The problem again is Nigeria do not pay for electricity, power distributers cannot pay power producer and turbines cannot be turnrd. The other problem is old transmission lines with capacity of mere 3000mw.Youll continue to get 4hrs of electricity everyday on good days and total blackout on every other day.Meanwhile Kenya will soon join south Africa in having universal electricity supply 24hrs a day.God gave Nigeria oil but denied you brains it would appear samorobo: |
Kenya like many countries boycotted Moscow Olympics n that how communist TZ managed to get two silvers. Most western nation boycotted to protest Russia invasion of Afghanistan. The Olympics in Mexico was nothing but a Communist parade. |
Kenya like many countries boycotted Moscow Olympics n that how communist TZ managed to get two silvers |
Kenya Moran's storms to the final of Africa Basketball after beating Morroco. |
samorobo:Precisely.Morroco is growing at about half Kenya growth rate.KShs also continues to be very resilient.Next year expect Kenya GDP to be around 110-115B.Then in 2021 around 120_125B.Then by 2022.we are talking nearly 135_-140B and Morroco ? |
Jonraid:Actually in 2yrs we will be where they are..120b..in 3yrs we will overtake them.So precisely at end of 2022 I expect Kenya GDP to be around 130B and possibly have overtaken Morroco.By 2024 it will be past 150B. |
Kazikazi:steal? How now .I copied that pic from jamii forum - TZ forum.I know outer ring and thika interchange is under construction. You cannot steal a mountain or a road.Go back to school. We know you went thro the atrociously horrible Danganyika systems of witchcraft and wizardry. |
spendoon:Which ongoing construction...that ugly gate and murram road |
