Lipstick on pig + erecting flyover over slumpolis. I lost count of the people I have heard describe driving in Ghana including Accra to be akin to dancing. Your roads are completely potholes. If you find a single - just one pothole in Kigali - come and let us know. I have driven 200kms from Kigali to Lake Kivu - not a single pothole. What is paved in Rwanda is well done including drainage & pavings. It almost like Europe. As for Ghana - you cannot even measure to kenya - Kenya is like 10 times better - in road quality - leave alone Rwanda Heck from videos I have seen of Ghana - and Nigeria - I dont see any difference - both countries have completely broken-down road infrastructure. In kenya we last had such potholed roads in MOI regime vaxx: |
Of course I know Rwanda - been there severally. You should ask why I deliberate did that. Rwanda generally even remote towns have nailed basic like good paving/no potholes. Kigali is on another level. You can drive in Rwanda and not hit a pothole. It surreal. Wherever there is tarmac - it tarmac - not potholed roads like Ghana - which form videos & youtubers reviews has one worst quality of roads. vaxx: |
Nairobi starting to nail paving. Still long way to get to Kigali and Rwanda but good progress the last few years https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pS2JuQNrLk&t=678s |
Tribal difference are not because kids have never mixed. That is most pedestrian view. People meet on the streets, fall in love and marry. Heck even in most apartheid of south africa - it had the most prolific mixed marriages - people dont have issues with each other at personal level. The main issues that divide countries are political exclusions - unfairness in gov jobs, development and opportunities This is what breeds tribal divisions and cause civil wars. We got a metldown in 2007 - very tame compared to many countries - but luckly realized we had to change. We enacted a new constitution that is fairer to everyone...even Indians or Whites are now feeling Kenyan. Kenya is addressing this through modern 2010 constitution that requires all gov appointment to reflect the face of kenya. If Akan is 50% - their appointment should be 50% - split into women, disabled, name it - and subtribes. If they are 1% indians - they deserve 1 percent appointment. If they are 0.005 percent they deserve 0.005 percent of money/jobs. Every county or region in kenya now receives their allocations of national budget. Every Const in kenya also receive fair allocation for development. Kenya is also addressing such issues this through strong institutions like judiciary and independent bodies. The results - we have risen from bottom of fragile nations with Nigeria - to now No 30. The schools teaches kids Kiswahili, English and national ethos. That is more than enough. You can board them - all year long - and they are likely to become gay - than less tribal. Because if you discriminate them in jobs, development and opportunities - they will become tribal afterall. Good example - Kenya high court has stopped Ruto appointed PS - because some people feel it was not representative enough. The High Court has stopped the ongoing vetting of permanent secretaries by Parliament, pending the determination of a case filed by the Law Society. The LSK says in the petition that the list of 51 PSs presented to Parliament for vetting and approval for not depict the national representation including the youth, persons with disabilities, the marginalised and gender balance. The LSK says in the petition the list as presented to Parliament does not take into account the regional and tribal balance, two-thirds gender rule principle, persons with disabilities and the youth. And this also true for all gov tenders - certain percentages in kenya are reserved for women, person with disablities and youth. All gov institution, SOES and agenices are regularly audited to ensure there is regional, ethnic, women, youth and disabled balanced as required by constitution mdntiri: |
All I hear everytime we argue is that black south africans get measured by African standards and the Boer by world class standards. That is Apartheid drilled into you. jl115: |
I dont care about such provincial details of Ghana. The point is your tribal differences are mild compared to kenya and your boarding school contribution to national cohesion is exaggerated. vankelvin: |
Akan is the largest ethnic group in Ghana, making up 47.3% of the population of Ghana (Ghana Statistical Service 2013:61). They comprise the Bono, Asante, Adanse, Twifo, Asen, Fante, Akuapem, Akyem, Akwamu, Kwahu, Sehwi, Awowin, Nzima and Ahanta (Buah 1998: .What pray are you uniting in boarding schools? vankelvin:

Apartheid is a germane issue in South Africa - sports, education and everything. The racial disparity is the elephant in the room. How do you want us to discuss the squirrels? In fact if you understood the reality of that racial disparity, it won't suprise you when I say kenya has better education than South Africa. It because of that racial divide - where bantustan inferior education lingers on - next to world class white minority education. jl115: |
That is not true. The level of disparity btw provinces is still very high. Schools in Western Cape and such white/colored majority are doing great versus the rest . There is still lingering apertheid that you're too embarrassed to admit let alone address. Of course kenya has regional disparities too...but it mostly climate related...remote/arid lag behind. It's not racial..like South africa...that condemns majority blacks with poor quality education. jl115: |
Overall - Kenya is doing well considering it's level of development - and South Africa underperforms (outside Cape province & such) - a legacy of apertheid in education - that condemned African kids to low quality Bantustan education lingers on. Kenyans use to fail to go to high school - because of poverty - but now that is changing. jl115: |
Almost every Ghanian or Kenyan who has gone to both countries admit it no contest. We just have a mad cow here on the loose. gallivant: |
Again lagging versus leading indicators; Kenya has started to push for 100% enrollment; that mean completion or attainment rate will go up; but of course it will take some years before we get to South Africa level - as many older kenyans would already been out of that net. Again most important - we are now on QUANTITATIVE education measures...when we were talking quality /qualitative measures. So in short South Africans stay (or stayed) in school longer but their quality of education is poor. jl115: |
Maybe because kenya participate in world maths contest - not something Ghana can lead in. Just40: |
Good - lagging indicator - kenya has fixed this - now we are leading in Africa. They should update their figures. Now we are doing 100% transition to secondary. Kenya has adopted a policy that will ensure that all learners transit from primary to secondary levels of education until they attain 'basic education jl115: |
That individual school - slowpoke - not representative of the rest of the country. PISA measures randomly basic reading/math skills of kids. And Ghana came last of last. Worse than South Africa. Just40: |
And it also a fact that you're mental insane Just40: |
This also vindicate my view that you dont have critical thinking skills to know we are not talking about one or two random schools that excel. Those are everywhere. Heck my kids schools are somewhere in MIT doing those kind of competitions ![]() We are talking national educational outcomes. I want you to pick random kid in the village and see if they can logically think or read or write. This girl nails it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAQXi4gAj-U Just40: |
Easy put the data jl115: |
Stop talking rubbish. Kenya quality of education is best in Africa. Zain/Airtel had Africa university challenge - kenya won everything except one year when Ibandan sneaked in. Rest of years it was kenya from quarters. Ghana never made it to quarters. Just40: |
Actually starts from 3:45 She nails Ghana like a jelly on the wall; and she has no idea about PISA or suchhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAQXi4gAj-U |
Attaining what? Kenya high school enrollment now is at 100% transition - 1st in Africa. jl115: |
You dont have argue. Listen to this girl from 4 minutes. She has done a very QUICK PISA on your education systems. JUST LISTEN FROM 4 minutes....and see how you EDUCATION SYSTEM is complete failure...which PISA and other assessment have shown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAQXi4gAj-U Just40: |
Pasted here jl115:
|
Your should look for kenyan girl and argue it out. From PISA and other test I have seen - your school systems is a complete total failure. Kids cannot read or write. Just40: |
This is credible. Your education system is still on apertheid. Kids from Cape province are as good as Kenyans. The rest are terrible. These would place you right there with Ghana. TERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIBLE. jl115:
|
Try find credible link like world bank slowpoke https://datatopics.worldbank.org/education/wDashboard/dqlearningcnty jl115: |
PISA you came last of last. The rest are giant stories. Few outliers are present in every country. Even in Central Africa - I am sure there are very smart kids. Just40: |
Look dodgy. Find more credible data. Dont scrap the bottom of the barrel like Ghana ![]() jl115: |
You're still dumb if you dont understand that when measuring educational outcomes you're measuring the average outcome of all the kids - not few privelleges kids who go to few good schools. If today Harvard university open a branch in South Sudan - would South Sudan have great education - because they have harvard? jl115: |
Same messed up logic that South African advance. It's education that equip your Troto driver to communicate clearly and think logically that we are interested in. The kenyan girl admitted to have never met more dumb people that she did in Accra Ghana. This is what education is about - you want to pick random kid in the streets - and see if they can read or do basic maths. Just40: |
This another evidence that your education is poor. Education asses the average kid. Not 2% of the kids who go to Cape University or Witzwatersrand. It's not the Elon Musky. It's average kid in Bantustan or Township. The one that cannot compete against immigrants for lowly jobs and has issues with Zim. Yes Zim has good education - maybe 2nd to kenya. jl115: |
Data speaks. You kids on average scored 250-300 in maths/reading skills half kenya. There is evidence all over that kenya kids are smart and Ghana kids are dumb. The Youtuber Ondigo nailed it in her video ![]() Just40: |
