https://twitter.com/ruffydfire/status/1709883637263442067?t=KN0D7HsaQ_pfoUX5riineQ&s=19[/quote]I woke up happy this morning, not because I won any jackpot, but with the way accolades were poured on the the minister of interior for his performance in office within the short period of time. This is how to measure a working government. Feelers from the public, not spurious statistics conjured by agents of government. The president or governor can use genuine public opinions as a gauge to assess the performance of their ministers or commissioners, so as to put them on their toes when found wanting. I give kudos to the Hon. Tunji.
If the public schools are in good shape, not many parents would have to send their wards to private schools in the first place. The same scenario is about to happen in higher institutions. The question is if you withdraw your children from private schools (Primary, secondary and Universities) on account of high rate of fees, with the way things are going, can parents afford even public schools?
HIGHESTPOPORI: Very good, the same way this people didn't trust Jonathan Govt to remove subsidy and use the money for development. We don't trust them now to remove subsidy and not loot the money.
The strike is rather to early, why not engage the government to know what her programmes are like for now? No sane leader would remove subsidy without having plans for succour for the citizens.
LordLugard1: Today I tender My Resignation From The Nigeria Police
My name is pc Ukwu Chiemezie. I was enlisted into the Nigeria Police on the 1/2/2018, prior to joining the Nigeria Police I was working at a warehouse in Lagos earning at least N5000 a day but for the sake of my future I decided to apply to be recruited into the Nigeria Police Force. After all the screening exercises I was enlisted and to move to training college within a week. We had 6 months training after that we pass out and I was posted to Anambra State. I started working in Anambra without accomodation. I had to took a N60,000 loan from my brother to rent a one room apartment. I worked for 4 months before we were paid together with the areas. Federal Government paid me N45,000 monthly so I was paid N180,000 for the four months.Out of this I paid my brother the loan of N50,000 I got from him. I used the rest to purchase furniture for the room. Do you believe that since that first payment I have not been able to buy anything again? Monthly salary of N45,000 is equal to a daily salary of N1500 Out of the N1500 since l am at work most of the time, I worked 12hours everyday. There are some officers that work for 24hours. So because of this I eat outside most of the time. A plate of food is N400 times 3 square meals is N1200 and the remaining N300 is what I used for transportation. That's how I spent the daily N1500 Federal Government is paying me. Nothing remain to buy drink like other Nigerians, nothing to buy uniform as we are not being given. Nothing to save. Or even for hospital if I am sick, not to talk of assisting my family and friends. I was doing better when I was working in a warehouse earning N5000 daily or more occasionally.
Nigerian Police is the worst paid security organisation in the whole of Africa with little or no pension. As I'm writing now I'm owning my landlord 2 years rent. Where will I get the money? You can only survive in the police force through corruption. If you refused to be corrupt you will pass through financial hell. The government had left police on the mercy of corruption. Every police officer in Nigeria is on psychological strike. There can never be a better security in Nigeria with this treatment mated out to them.
I had three option and I have chosen one
Option 1 To be corrupt so as to be able to meet up my financial obligations
Option 2 To be attached to a politician so as to become his/her house boy in other to get tokens from them
Option 3 To resign from the work.
I have taken option 3 and have said bye bye to a job that I cannot pay my house rent or go to the hospital if I am sick.
The only option left for this country is RESTRUCTURING. This kind of scenario abounds everywhere. Justice exists no more and this explains why there is commotion here and there. You give your mandate to some people as your representatives to paddle your affairs only for them to enrich and comfort only themselves and their families without minding what happens to the masses. Where is justice in that? We must go back to the drawing board for us to develop as a nation. This guy if the case is true at all, has by his action decided to exhibit the sanity left in him. How many of his colleagues have the mind to do that? When law enforcement agents of a society have to look up to criminals for survival such society is doomed and such is our current experience as a country.
This kind of comment makes me loose hope the more in the fight to salvage this country. Look at how a Nigerian present a pathetic case involving millions of Naira investment that is about going down the drain, instead of concerted efforts from all to rally round him you are here polarising us already with your comment. In any case may he find help.
Let her be with the shop and take whatever that is left of u and leave.
Can't imagine how someone would pretend to be cool for a whole 2 years during relationship/courtship, only to unleashe sapentery behavior under one year after marriage. I don't know why we equate courtship with marriage. There is wide difference between the two. Know this as a fact. If you like court for 25 years and marry for just one year, some qualities not known during the long year of courtship will still be unravelled. For how many year did our mama and papa of the old court before marriage? It annoys when they say marriage collapses and people blame the couple for rushing into marriage without courting.
Brendaniel: Oga stop this abeg, the government is to blame, imagine this type of thing happens in America, won't someone be punished for it, I still say this the problem of Nigeria is not just corruption but what happens after the corruption, there is no country in the world that corruption does not exist, but what happens after corruption takes place will determine if that corruption will continue.
Thank you for your thoughtful submission. A society without law and discipline isn't better than the jungle.
ayourbamie: Some of us don't have the mind to say no to this kind of thing... The woman may accuse the officer of insubordination. Cook up different lies just to get the man punished
You aren't far from the truth but if the organisation had done and is till doing her bit to orientate the officers as well as their clients on their modus operandi, cases of victimisation on account of refusal to drag the force into the mud can easily be established.
In the good old days, there are things you don't see forces do. Now, because there are powers within powers, individuals and organisations abuse the laws of the land with impunity.
Honestly I am really moved and full of emotion by this scene. The obvious message remains that nature has a template that must run by design. It rarely has nothing to do with love or hate.

All these upgrading of Lexus to Toyota and vice versa, what happens to the vehicles' information and particulars? What about police wahala and suspicion?
Is there still ministry of defence in this country?
Why is everyone acting as if this is normal?
These people's education are on hold, we can't just continue like this, why is everyone in power acting normal..where is the governor of Jos, the police stations and army barack in Jo's are on strike?
Nobody is resigning, nobody is getting fired and we are all calm and collected.
Is there still opposition party in Nigeria? So many questions
You are a very reasonable fellow. Don't our leaders know that by this their adoption of evacuation they have accepted their failure. This is not a natural disaster for crying out loud. They have failed to protect the citizens who they have sworn to protect. Evacuation of students from Jos just suddenly becomes a new campaign promise delivered.
envoymedia: Reno Omokri Blasts Governor El-Rufai For Withdrawing His Son From Nigerian Public School (Photo)
Former Presidential Aide, Reno Omokri has blasted the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai for withdrawing his son from Nigerian public school, IgbereTV reports.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai said that he withdrew his seven-year-old son, Abubakar Al-Sadiq El-Rufai, from Kaduna Capital school, after bandits attempted to kidnap him twice.
This is a clear case of injustice, as has pervaded Nigerian political terrain. Now that the Chief Security Officer of the state has withdrawn his ward from the school on account of insecurity, what happens to the children of others? The message is clear: Everybody can be kidnapped and maimed, EXCEPT my family members.
SATANICALLY666: The source added that it’s good for members of the public to know that those killed were three in number and not one as being speculated.
Where are the instruments of government to curtail these ongoing unrest? What happens to declaration of state of emergency? Or the power to declare such to put into check the senseless killings no longer rest in the federal government? I am worried about the happenings in the country lately particularly the southeast region.
If establishment of companies also get the kind of attention given to creation and upgrading of higher institutions in Nigeria, we would not be in this mess.
It Is quite a pathetic situation. The question I keep asking is, at what degree of ill-health should an executive resign or be impeached as spelt out in the constitution? This is similar to the case of a late former Governor of a state, Taraba to be precise who got himself involved in a terrible air mishap, demented, and still clinged to power despite his incapacitated condition. Why are Africans this power drunk?
I am not surprised at all that this man is fully attached to his root judging from his series of works and films. This is what we call get your children to be familiar with their origin. Not some good for nothing parents whose children have lost completely due to their unpatriotic dispositions towards their origin. They continue to claim Lagos as their origin whereas they were born and bread in villages in other states. Let your children know their home before they get lost completely.
RedPanthar: Lol. You fell for it. It's just trapping to make the wife look like a villain. It's just some days. It's just rice here and there and they are gone.
You should encourage him to be loving and more accommodating and that it won't last beyond a few days.
Those other side attractions are mere trappings.
You are not getting it bro, why don't you address the main issue and leave the rice matter. Didn't the husband deserve to be informed of whatever to happen under his roof? Even as the head of the house, the husband is required to inform his wife whenever any of his family members wants to come visit if not on emergency. This is an insult taken too far, it is not just about giving them food and overlook, afterall, despite his low finance, he will still give out food to guests when they come in the spirit of festivity. The case here is however different.
Danzakidakura: Me as a Christian I like the man. I watch the video
I don't understand how we are so wired in this country that religion or ethnicity must be brought in everything we do. What has your faith or the faith of the subject got to do with your disposition to him? Just like or hate him because of his character not his professed faith.
Way to go. This is just to show that it doesn't take rocket science to govern and solve societal problems, just sincerity and compromise where necessary. See how the two states will now focus on their respective educational development with little distractions
Do we now have another labour union? Or the same labour that we all know? They are not different from the politicians, they struggle to occupy the office only to feed on their members dues. They should go and learn better unionism from ASUU.
slawormiir: Damnnn niggarrrr Too bad See them all complaining
Whether they like it or not Ippis is here to stay Dictating to your employer how you wanna be paid is dogg shit
Whatever ippis is deducting from salaries of workers is backed by law
Sebi Some of you call ASUU all sort of names for rejecting the payment platform, what will you say to this again? Why don't you update your knowledge a bit by investigating the platform may be you will know better. Just an advice please
Businext: On March 4th 1801, the second president of the United States, John Adams, refused to hand over office to his main rival at the 1800 election, Thomas Jefferson.
The rule of midday January 20 had not been written yet but despite his stubbornness, the office simply left him!
After Thomas Jefferson was sworn in at an event which the incumbent refused to attend, Whitehouse staff started to remove the former president’s belongings from the White house (Adams was the first president to reside at the new official residence).
All security organs cut all official communication and all presidential staff stopped taking instructions from Adams – THE OFFICE MOVED.
From that time all incumbents at the White House prepare early to leave in case they see signs of losing to avoid humiliation by the independent organs of state (the military, the Secret Service, the CIA, FBI and White House staff all operate under a code - serving a man/woman who has carried the WILL of the people at an election).
As soon as Biden clinches the 270 votes and is officially declared by all returning officers in the states, the following is going to happen
1. The Secret Service divides its attention between the incumbent at the incoming President.
2. CIA begins to give them both security briefings (including top secret intelligence which is traditionally reserved for the commander in chief).
3. The counter intelligence teams of the CIA which also ‘spy’ on the CIA also begin to brief both of them.
4. Whitehouse staff prepare to re-do the WH in-line with the taste of the president-elect.
5. At Midday on January 20, Whitehouse staff remove all the former president's belongings from the house and bring in the belongings of the new president (they wait for no one’s instructions).
6. The deductions for Whitehouse rent on Trump’s salary stops in January while the deductions for Whitehouse rent begins on Joe Biden’s presidential salary in January.
7. Melania Trump stops being the boss of Whitehouse on January 20 at midday and Dr. Jill Biden becomes the boss of Whitehouse on January 20 at midday.
8. At midday on January 20, all the power organs of the US cut official communication with Trump; The Pentagon, The CIA, The FBI, The Attorney General. The Secret Service however maintains minimal communicationsince it is going to guard the ex-president all his life.
8. The BEAST and AIRFORCE ONE salute Trump for the last time and move their attention to Biden. The BEAST begins to carry Biden’s blood samples as is the tradition.
All this without any executive orders or instructions from anyone! The system just kicks in.

Wao! What a system. There is no room for any sit tight leader, the system automatically reset both incoming and the outgoing to their factory settings. This is what is called naked justice. If the court of law later say otherwise, then those institutions follow accordingly.
To practically seek redress on this sars brutality here and there and avert future occurrences, I feel the chain of superior officers in the police should also be punished alongside the culprits for being unresponsive. When complaints are made or issues raised against their officers' brutality, some of them openly denied or refused to act. Nigerians complained of police extortion (which at some time became electronic by using POS), the best police hierarchy could do was to deny. Police were abuse severallly by being used by the privileged in the society to oppress the less privileged, when the latter complained, no justice would be served. The list of impunity is endless. Now that the golden opportunity has come for all to bring to the public their various harrowing experiences, it will be incomplete to punish the erring officers while leaving out their ogas who might in one way or the other be accomplice in the crimes.
Honestly I don't know what his type really wants. He decided to expose his stupidity claiming to fight for a Christian candidate. The kind of politics you play in Nigeria that gets you no where.
FRSC carry gun? To do what exactly? To cause accidents or prevent it? How does bearing arms aid their duties? We are talking of brutality from their brother organisation and here we are arming another set of *bbers. If there is nothing else to legislate on it is better the house go on permanent recess I beg.
Yes, we are getting there gradually. Most of the unproductive agencies and parastatals we are financing in the name of lopsided recruitments and quota system shall all die a natural death.
Old people in government are like second term governors, they are only interested in finishing their tenure, whereas youths in government will strive to create a conducive environment where their generation can thrive.
EndSARS: Federal lawmaker writes colleagues, others
A memberof the House of Representatives, Bamidele Salam, has written an open letter to his colleagues and other political leaders in the country, warning that the ongoing EndSARS protest is a serious warning to all of them. According to the lawmaker from Ede, Osun State, it signals that Nigeria is at the tipping point. Here is the letter as he published on his Facebook page early Saturday: A NOTE TO MY FELLOW LEADERS This morning I feel moved to send this note to those of my fellow citizens who are privileged to be in leadership position at a time like this. I am using this medium because there is no better one for now. The ongoing #EndSARS protests nationwide have signalled a twist in our country’s history. For those who can discern the said and unsaid messages of the protesters, the agitation is a clear indication that Nigeria is very close to a tipping point. #EndSARS is a loaded metaphor for the younger generation’s frustrations with the bad governance, oppression, corruption, nepotism, mediocrity and insensitivity of most of us in public offices. It is a wakeup call to arouse us from our lethargic snoring, inactivity and half-heartedness as people elected or appointed to solve these myriad of problems which we inherited, created or increased! Every sane person in public office today knows that Nigeria has no reason to be on a list of poor countries in the world talk less of being the world capital of poverty. It is a self evidenced truth that Nigeria’s current woes are not as a result of any natural reality or occurrence. The pains of scoring so high in exams but not being able to secure admission to tertiary institutions, of spending so much time and money to graduate from schools only to remain unemployed for decades after, the pains of scrambling to buy job slots from overfed public servants, the pains of watching old parents die in agony without being able to access their pension and gratuity, the pains of bearing children that can not access good education, the pains of being discriminated against on account of tribe and religion, the pains of mass socio-economic deprivation, living like a slave in one’s own country! These are just some of the pains which waste the years of our youths, kills their morale, destroys their self esteem and about which they want us to ACT in a manner that shows we understand the problems and ready with the solutions. I am of the view that there is no better time than now for us to OWN UP to our collective failure as leaders, openly begin a honest engagement with our youths and make a new declaration and commitment to work with them to birth a new Nigeria . We have a unique opportunity offered by the #EndSARS protests to turn from the path we have treaded in the past 60 years which has only led us to poverty, insecurity and international disgrace. If we seize this opportunity, we will not only be helping the protesting youths, we will be helping our own children who though privileged today may not remain so privileged forever! We cannot postpone this moment forever! May God give us the wisdom and courage to do the needful NOW! God bless Nigeria. I remain yours truly Bamidele salam Member of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 17th October, 2020
