agaugust:I agree. We're number 20. You're correct. |

Some SAAF Gripen Ex Lion Effort pilots. I believe there were 8 or so in total https://i.imgur.com/mfp0v.jpg Our female Gripen pilot (on the left) meets Sweden's female pilot https://i.imgur.com/lcYot.jpg Operational Commander of Ex Lion Effort and also Gripen pilot https://www.af.mil.za/news/014/MDN_6073_1.jpg |
agaugust:Um yes...its quite obvious that those are ground crew. Even the second last pic is ground crew. Did i say all pics are pilots? SA Army camo = ground/supporting/technical staff. Olive green flight suite = pilot. Why are you jumping the gun? The two Gripen pilots standing side to side is an official pic from SAAB website regarding Lion Effort and SAAF Gripen pilots. So email SAAB and tell them that they are wrong. Pilot climbing into the Gripen is 2 Squadron Commander, and thats a pic taken from Lion Effort. |
Extra Lion Effort 2012 pics. P.S more than 6 Gripen pilots took part. And not all 2 Squadron pilots went to Sweden for the exercise. https://i.imgur.com/jIaNz.jpg https://i.imgur.com/fCBgR.jpg https://i.imgur.com/puGQe.jpg https://www.saabgroup.com/Global/Documents%20and%20Images/Campaigns/Lion%20effort/ZA_pilots_440x277.jpg https://i.imgur.com/HnD5f.jpg

I like our special forces Hornet/Wasp vehicles. Although I heard CSIR and Wits University might be working on a newer vehicle. Henry120:Lol!! Go to sleep. Quote us a number of shots. U a very good at pulling numbers from thin air (e.g 9 Gripen pilots). 3 shots fired. Why doesnt Anthony Day say he hear more? This happened during the dead of night. Him and his crew would have heard multiple rounds being fired for miles and miles away. Now you want to shove words down his mouth the same way Augustine shoves his member down yours. Lol. |
agaugust:Thumbs up to you. Go to youbute...watch American/Russian/British Navies fire at target. See how many rounds land in the water. Funny how you never answered the question....what does Nigeria fire at during training? Live humans? People fire back at you during your training? Interesting. Do you know that 75% of the crew aboard the Navy frigate were new recruits on that vessel? Did you know that? No you didnt. In war we will fire 3 rounds and stop? Interesting. 2 Umkhonto Surface to Air missiles fired during same exercise. Same Umkhonto missile that YOU said are fake and that the South African Navy DOES NOT HAVE just a few days ago. Your opinion is a non entity. Zero matrix. It doesnt matter. It holds no weight. |
Henry120:How far along are you in finding the requested link for Gripen pilots? Whats that? Silence? Oh okay In a war scenario they would fire 3 rounds and stop? Go to lunch after that. Watch Game of Thrones. You have been shown videos of the American Navy firing numerous rounds at a target. More than 3 rounds landing in the water nearby. Thats how naval guns are..you fire a high burst at the target knowing rounds will miss, but it will eventually hit. Again...why were only 3 rounds fired in a gun that carries hundreds of rounds? We would only fire 3 in war? Okay. Nice story again. |
agaugust:Kindly tell us how a brand new recruit into the Nigerian Army/Airforce/Navy trains. Whay do they fire at? Live humans? Or targets? We are not at war. You are. Deal with it. Come to SA. Stand as a target for our gunners firing at you. See if you wont be torn to pieces. Sit in a vehicle and let us fire Ingwe at you. Sit on an old wreck and see of Exocet wont rip you apart. Stand down range of let R4 fire at you. You are more than welcome....since you say we will miss. |
agaugust:Ok. Nice story. |
agaugust:Aha. The thing you fail to comprehend is that if the Nigerian Navy skips the most basic step of swimming training, they clearly skip all other aspects. Swimming is the number one thing you learn in any Navy. Why did the Nigerian Navy make your "officers" go on a mandatory swimming course after they realised more than half cant swim? Why didnt they leave the situation as it was? Why change it if its not important? Can you answer that? No you cant. Dont waste my time. |
Henry120:Cool story. No questions of mine answered. As usual. |
Henry120:How many rounds get fired in this video? And how many of them hit the water completely missing the target? Did more or less than 3 miss? Did our and/or German warship fire a long burst at the fishing boat? What gun was used? Manual/automatic sights? Do you know? No you dont. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZY4hbTyhoxc Search the internet for other similar videos and gauge the accuracy of naval guns (not missiles). |
Henry120:Article from 9 SEPTEMBER 2013 "Bayne said the Gripen fleet has flown 3 500 hours since 2008 while the 24-strong Hawk fleet has flown over 10 000 major accident-free hours since 2005. According to testimony at the arms deal commission, 18 Gripen aircrew (navigators and pilots) have been trained up to operational status to date and 52 Hawk aircrew have been trained so far." http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=31821 Show us the link to the article from anywhere between 10 September 2013 to 31 December 2013 where it says 6 qualified Gripen pilots. Take your time. |
Henry120:Like your junior and senior officers who cant even swim. Pot calling the kettle pitch pitch black |
Henry120:Yes. A number 9 you completely made up. |
Henry120:Oh wow. Look at that...no link. Again! What a surprise. In your head the only way to divide 18 is to say 9 + 9? Its completely above all comprehension to say 12 + 6 or 14 + 4? Your brain cant possibly fathom any other combination besides 9+9? Mind you. Only 9 Gripen D (two seat which require navigators) were ordered. Why would they have a full complement of 9 navigators but not a full complement of pilots? |
Henry120:As i suspected. The number 9 was conjured up in the depths of your imagination. Don't you think it would have been a double blow if you had shown us proof of 9, and then demanded the proof of 14? You made up the number 9. Shamelessly using it here as fact. How pathetic. |
Henry120:Show us proof!! Show us the link where you read the number 9 from. Why not just shut all of us up with a simple link? Or you made up the number 9 which you have been peddling here for months. Where did you see the number 9? |
Henry120:Random meanigless photo. Show us the article linked to that pic. Those could all be helicopter pilots for all we know. |
Henry120:You have failed to show what source says 9 Gripen pilots. It only says 18 Gripen aircrew and 52 Hawk aircrew. Dont be shy...show us where you got the number 9 from. A simple link will be fine. |
Henry120:You are free to post the link. The number 18, is just that. 18. It says 18 Gripen aircrew (pilots and navigators) and 52 Hawk aircrew. This is from September 2013. You are free to post the link which splits those 18 into 9 and 9. |
Henry120:I would love to see a link as of 2015, how many Gripen and Hawk pilots there are in the SAAF today. Keep posting numbers from years back as if new pilots never get trained (from Hawk to Gripen). What processes happened behind closed doors between SANDF/SAAF/SAAB to formalize and complete the Gripen deal (work share etc etc) before pilots were sent to Sweden for initial training? You haven't the slightest clue. If you say no Nigerian pilots are in China for JF-17 training because nothing has been signed, then please can we never again see a single reference between Nigeria and JF-17 on this forum. Thank you. You seem to be an expert on SAAF pilot numbers. Do share how many fighter pilots Nigeria has as of today. |
agaugust:Lol okay. I see. Interesting. So those missiles on the wingtips are not live. They are training missiles which you said WE DO NOT HAVE. |
Henry120:1st Gripen delivered to SAAF in 2008. 2015-2008 =/= 15 years. 15 is a number conjured up in the depths of your imagination. I believe 2 or 3 pilots were sent to Sweden to train on the Gripen before that 1st delivery. How many Nigerian pilots are currently in China for the JF-17's "you're getting this year"? Keep throwing the number 9 around. We must have an extreme overflow of Hawk pilots by now, since according to what you say non of them move onto the Gripen. |
agaugust:EXERCISE LION EFFORT 2012 - HELD IN SWEDEN South African, Czech, Hungarian, and Swedish Air Forces took part. Part of this multinational exercise included blue on red air-air combat, which included close range dog fights. Pilots had to fight to get missile locks and fire at the "enemy aircraft" You are free to tell us if we fired real missiles or training missiles. Take your time. Think it over. "Same missile" developed in the 1980's (surface to air) then again "same missile" developed mid 1990's (air to air). No comeback to this. Cool story. Next topic please. |
agaugust: |
Patchesagain:NO NO NO.....thats the "usual range". The range the missile "usually" hits something....not the maxinum range ![]() |
saengine:He cannot answer this. This dirty troll of a human being. GROUND VERSION DEVELOPED IN THE 80'S , REVEALEVED 1989. AIR - AIR VERSION DEVELOPED MID 1990's. SAME MISSILE....DIFFERENT DEVELOPMENT YEARS?? ONLY IN YOUR SICK, MENTALLY RETAR.DED HEAD. And what is a missile's "usual range"?? That is a term you just made up out of desperation. What is it? The range at which it "usually" hits a target? ![]() Missile manufacturers quote the maximum range. Simple. |
