The world and life is very complex and hard for an average human to comprehend and make useful deductions.

The bible, and other major holy books, simplify the complexity to the intellectual level of the senseless and intellectually handicapped in our midst (who are a majority) and help us control them. The simplification does not have to be accurate, it just has to be meaningful for their intellectual level and help them cope far better with the complexities their brains can never work out.

The good thing is that, by and large, the major religions simplify it in such a way it expects these handicapped majority to be positive to society. Obviously little errors of what "positive" is does exist and the errors varies by religion, with some not being as good a religion than others. But that said, they all (the major religions) contribute positively to the world we live it even after removing their negatives.

The only major problem is the multiplicity, that is where we have problems. Different religions and ideologies clashing and fighting themselves. But it is not feasible to have only one as humans think differently and are complex, so we have to cope with the multiplicity.

In order of decreasing adequacy, this is what I think is best for the world if all possibilities were feasible:

- One religion and one denomination of that religion (I would go for Jainism as representative of the most best fit spectrum of the acceptable major religion that can be useful, and Islam as the least best fit end of the spectrum)
- Multiple religions (as we have it now, with occassional problems)
- No religion (Will lead to total chaos!)
