How?
You still have to go to the store. When you get there, u'll be given a code to scan, which takes you to their portal where you fill the first steps and make payment. Then you do ur KYC registration but no filling of forms, u're given the registration panel to fill out everything, each step is followed by text msgs and emails till the end.

Once finished an installer will be assigned by the system and u receive an email and text to that effect, the installer calls in less than 30mins to confirm availability and will be at ur place in about 2hrs for final installation.

There's also a link on their website for procurement of the ODU.

Note: I have not used this route and cannot testify to it's functionality.

On-boarding new subscribers and installation is now flawless for the ODU package, all registration is done online. Got a new device on Saturday, from conclusion of registration to final installation took just 3½hrs.

Was quite impressed, got the ZTE model.

Ok. But be careful sha b4 u loose ur hard earned 25k...

50Mbps plan at 25k is strictly for ODU devices, however you can do the experiment for science and we can learn through you.
A small advise to anyone wanting to subscribe to the ODU 25k plan on the normal unlimited 20mbps 30k plan, don't do it. It will show successfully on the smartcash app but will not activate, it will dump the 25k as airtime on the subscribed line, so you'll need to buy additional 5k airtime then convert to the full 30k plan.

I learnt the hard way about 3months ago, I called airtel cc tire.

Just so you know. Cheers.

The model is G5C for the 5G router... Check the picture out and see if it is the X25pro model for possible unlocking
Initially when this model was released it was unlocked and universal, slot in a non airtel sim and see if it works.

Please what's your take on this.
Pros and Cons
Pros - * It's expandable (you can add external battery to increase capacity.
* It's DIY capable, as you can open it up with ease to make modifications.

Cons - * Too expensive compared to same capacity in the market
* Slow charging, max charging via AC or DC is about 22a - 25a.
* Still using lead acid battery chemistry.

As stated by Penuelseun, there are better options in the market, so do your due diligence.

NB: I do not own a unit, deductions made above were from their data sheets, please search for the data sheet to be sure. Cheers

All this will give U problem.. to my findings most people that are facing one of two issues with their odu are the ones doing Sim swapp , very soon it won't work again and U will start complaining
Bros calm down, this is so false. The issues with the Sims boils down to how the sims were provisioned during registration. I have 2 ODU lines and I can say it for free that one works better than the other, infact with the particular good sim I rarely have downtime, while the other sim just jumps from one issue to the other, note that I have tested them on the same router and same position and the difference in performance is like night and day. So I simply dumped the troublesome sim and am using the good sim with no issues.
NB: Both ODUs came with sim cards originally.

A friend told me it works as you described. But the router seems to have been tweaked before coming to me, with software that restricted some of its features.
Oh okay, sorry to hear that, hopefully the new umlock should work just fine. For those who have used paragon to unlock the x25pro, what's his price range? Seems his software has a lot more features.

The WAN mode, which would have allowed me select wired connection to use the router as IDU, is stuck at 'Mobile Network Mode'.

Maybe this will be active after tweaking?

For the above, the router is not working as IDU for now. Even if it works, I would still prefer continuing with ZTE MC801A as IDU because that one has better WIFI management menu, with guest wifi to boot.

Anyway, until I tweak it, that's ZLT X25 pro, ladies and gentlemen smiley
Try removing the sime from the X25pro, then connect via cable to the first lan port, it should work automatically without changing anything on the interface.

My impression of Henry LiFePo4 Lithium battery.
I bought 3pcs of 24v-100ah. To my utmost surprise, when I checked the capacity on their BMS app, I can see that the cells of each battery unit is not up to 100ah.
100ah battery should show full 100ah or 100,000mah. Infact, some brands will give you 103ah for 100ah.
It's either they sold used cells which are grade B, or the cells are new grade A but not complete.
You can see the screenshot from the BMS app below:
First battery's full capacity is 96,210mah (96.21ah)
Second battery's full capacity is 97,010mah (97.01ah)
Third battery's full capacity is 99,630mah (99.63ah)
If you don't mind the disparity, then you can buy from them.
Nice one, this shows that we're becoming more aware of the thongs we buy and suppliers now know we can hold them accountable for products and services offered.
However, when it comes to batteries, especially lithium batteries paired with smart BMS the story might be tricky, this is because the readings as you have shown in the screenshot is directly related to the settings in the parameters. For dumb BMS's upper parameters are always set at 3.65v per cell which is 100% while the lower parameters are set at 2.5v per cell which is 0%, for smart BMS's the story is different as one can easily change this parameters to meet varying needs, producers/suppliers have been known to edit this settings to about 80% - 90% to extend battery life; am almost sure that's the case here.
Do us a favor and share the parameter settings on each battery so as to enable us confirm for sure that it was set for conservative use. Cheers.

I think it's the ZLT S25.
It will work if it's active, but NSEstudent has stated above that your sim isn't active. Do try and rectify that first if it's still not working. My humble advise.

Is there any Airtel device one can use ODU physical SIM on without tweaking. Especially their routers.
All Airtel branded "ROUTERS" work without tweaks, the ones not working that requires tweaking are their Mifis.

Note: I've tried the ZTE X25, X25 pro, ZTE T30, the smart android tv box, the Nokia fastmile router and an unlocked Spectranet branded Huawei B310s and they all worked fine with the ODU line.

Presently, my Sim is in the X25pro (unlocked) and it's working perfectly, infact I've had less down time now than when I used the ODU. The carrier aggregation of cell bands on this device is flawless.

Thank you for your soothing words. I think the problem arose from power surge of the battery which caused the damage. Please what is pre-charge resistor and how do I get one?
It's just a large resistor used to pre-charge your inverter capacitors in order to avoid high amps in-rish current. Find pics and links below, you can also get it at electrical stores and markets:

I just found this on AliExpress:
50W 100W 0.5R 1R 2R 4R 6R 8R 10R 20R Aluminum Power Metal Shell Case Wirewound Resistor 0.01 ~ 100K 0.5 1 2 4 6 8 10 20 100 ohm

I also have the 3000 Watts inverter from linnov which I use in my village. I have bought another sachet inverter to replace the damaged one which I am still using with the battery. I am still observing the holding hours of the battery when fully charged. You never can tell, it may be a factory fault.
First calculate and know your total load plus inverter idle consumption, that way even before you start you have an estimate you'll be expecting. After the load test, you can now confirm the pros and cons of the battery.
Science/TechnologyRe: How To Create A Locally Made Inverter With Ease by saint2ace(m): 6:22am On Feb 11
keeper303:
I am still observing it but from the little time I have used the battery, it does not last long after recharge.
The first time I used it, 2 of my sachet inverters got burnt. When I connected the inverter to the battery, I just heard "pau". Before I could quickly detach the inverter from the battery, I heard the second "pau" and smoke bellowed from the inverter.
The second inverter I bought and fixed just did "pau" once and went off completely. I took the inverter back to my 'ina' friend I bought it from and he laughingly told me " e don burn be that" without any pity.
As for the holding capacity of the battery, I want to charge it fully and time how many hours it will take to power my 32' telly, decoder, a small table fan and charging of phones before I can conclude.
Sorry on your experience, but a quick tip for DIY persons, when connecting a battery to your inverter, please always use a pre-charge resistor, this helps to fill ur capacitors with energy and avoid large in-rush current. The in-rush current is responsible for the huge spark you get when your inverter cable touches the battery terminal, note that most capacitors in these cheap inverter as sub par and inferior, so be careful how you use them.
NB: Lithium batteries generally are capable of high amps charge and discharge unlike regular lead acid.

Once again sorry about your spoilt equipment but if you adhere to the above you should be fine going forward as those inverters are low budget versions and thus very sensitive.

If you budget allows you, pls change the 1000w modified sine wave inverter and stick only to pure sinewave versions, your equipments will thank you for it.

I got a mifi with WiFi 6 that works with broadband and ODU subs. Its only advantage over my old ZLT M30 is that the battery lasts longer, which was what I have been complaining about. This one should last at least 8 hours due to Wi-Fi 6 being efficient with 2.4Ghz.

So anyone who needs the M30, already tweaked and working with ODU and other broadband subs, should make me an offer.
Which mobile mifi are you using now?

This particular ODU dey worry, but if I haven't tested my own Sim in it and it worked, I would have laid the blame on it alone. So, the device is not the problem. Although there may be something about it that makes some people who were baptized into the ODU kingdom through it to be having the most complaints, one of whom is my guy.

When you call customer care, what do they say? Have you taken it to the specific office you bought from, did they say anything useful? I will assume your location has terrible Airtel network but it seems you said somewhere that you have tested a normal Sim with it. If it is confirmed the sim is the problem, you should just go take another device and sim. They have a new ZTE device now, G5FA, a junior brother to G5F.
Nice to hear the ZTE is back, but why do you consider it the younger brother? Secondly, which IDU is it paired with as i hear it supports wifi 7?

I subscribed using smartcash but i didn't get the bonus sha...I logged into my my Airtel app with my smartcash number and then subscribed my ODU from there using smartcash as mode of payment
The process is correct but the problem might be your smartcash bonus balance, note that the bonus balance is updated from time to time based on usage and if at the time of subscription the balance was below the bonus amount to be credited, you will not get the cashback. Had a similar issue months back and trust airtel, dem no send anybody; all my complaints fell on deaf ears.

So word of advice always check your smartcash bonus balance before initiating any transaction that requires a cashback and ensure the balance is enough for the cashback or else otilo!!!!!

Y'all be trying to get your hands on different ODU's for a 50mbps plan that even the cheapest handheld mifi can comfortably achieve that speed. What's the stress for?

And they're all locked to just a network.
It's all for science, at with NSEstudent's breakdown, we know what to expect from individual hardwares. Sometimes we don't appreciate people who put their finances, time and effort into doing some of these reviews, because we can read them at a glance, we tend to forget the process these things went through to get us the results.

@NSEstudent, dustmalik and all who contribute regularly you're all appreciated. Keep up the good work.
