citizenisb: Like all solar survivors, he has emotion invested in his dream, and the prospect of vindication is sweet. What is new is that big global banks are starting to agree. Earlier this year UBS published a report on the “unsubsidised solar revolution”, arguing that every rooftop in Italy, Spain and even Germany should have a solar cover based purely on hard economics.Where is the source for second topic? The solar cost revolution. |
Emmyk: Didnt I read this same story here few days back?a new twist in the entire news....daughter/sister now in the picture as well. |
This goes to show that corruption as well as tribalism cannot be eliminated. Ying & Yang! |
Apart from the child developing in a wombless-woman, the woman can be cured of her womblessness by the foetus. The foetus actually develop stem cells that will automatically create a womb for the woman. We are yet to completely understand nature, not to talk of God. kmariko: [img][/img]Good stuff kmariko; however, all these will not come to fruition except if we have more like-minds like yours actively participating in the developing the future of our nation. In addition, all these dreams should have Electric Power as a basic commodity. Delta and Bayelsa state should be included in the plans, after all the SE n SS governors meeting is already in place. Kmariko, hit me up using the link in my signature. |
^^^ don't be deceived by money. A true business mogul does not give out without reason. Uba is seeking to siphon the Anambra treasury. |
What makes Bianca Ojukwu unqualified for this position? It's not like she is being imposed on the party by anyone. The party is searching for peace and in this beautiful and intelligent lady, they see a unifying ground. If this happens, then she will be the first female party leader in Nigeria. |

The New Yam festival of the Igbo (Igbo: Iwa ji) is an annual harvest festival by the Igbo people held at the end of the rainy season in early August.[1][2] The Iwa ji festival (literally "new-yam eating" [3] is practiced throughout West Africa (especially in Nigeria and Ghana)[1] and other African countries and beyond,[4] symbolizing the conclusion of a harvest and the beginning of the next work cycle.[2] The celebration is a very culturally based occasion, tying individual Igbo communities together as essentially agrarian and dependent on yam.[2]Yams are the first crop to be harvested, and are the most important crop of the region.[1] The evening prior to the day of the festival, all old yams (from the previous year's crop) are consumed or discarded.[2] The next day, only dishes of yam are served, as the festival is symbolic of the abundance of the produce.[2] Traditionally, the role of eating the first yam is performed by the oldest man in the community or the king (igwe).[3][4] This man also offers the yams to god, deities and ancestors.[2] It is believed that their position bestows the privilege of being intermediaries between their communities and the gods of the land. The rituals are meant to express the gratitude of the community to the gods for making the harvest possible, and they are widely followed despite more modern changes due to the influence of Christianity in the area.[3] The day is symbolic of enjoyment after the cultivation season, and the plenty is shared with friends and well-wishers.[3] A variety of festivities mark the eating of new yam. Folk dances, masquerades, parades, and parties create an experience that some participants characterize as "art"; the colorful festival is a spectacle of exhibited joy, thanks, and community display.[2] Palm oil (mmanu nri) is used to eat the yam. Iwa ji also shares some similarities with the Asian Mid-Autumn Festival, as both are based on the cycles of the moon and are essentially community harvest festivals. Ikeji Festival ... New Yam Festival is coming we've got to celebrate it on nairaland. I must be 13/14 during my yam moments. During the holidays, I was home with my 1/2 year old bro. Having searched the fridge for food and met an empty box, I embarked upon the almighty alternative 'fried yam'. After peeling and putting the oil on fire, I began the frying with a short fork. Feeling like a champion cook, I stirred the yam in hot oil with less care. Then suddenly, the yams started exploding and spraying hot oil everywhere. I burnt my middle, ring & little fingers. Glad I had some PHE studies then, quickly applied some salt and cold water to reduce the pains and anguish. Rushed to a nearby pharmacy for treatment. Eversince, I fry with long forks. |

This topic is very demeaning. I think we need to grow and focus our energy in providing solutions to the problems of Nigeria. |
But why should I consider an underaged-wife an adult? First all citizens of this country are born free by the laws of FGN. The age of majority in Nigeria is 18 years. Consequently, a girl under the age of 18 cannot be an adult whether married or not. If Yerima and his associates interested in perverting our constitution, then a newborn baby girl should considered an adult as well; in some cultures a new born baby girl is automatic a wife to the first non-relative male of her family. Furthermore, this section of our constitution, offends the law of equal rights between men and women. Why women only, can't we have a child groom? |
