saibuhari: I think what happened is ''price correction'' because of the 'market making' in the NSE. Some stocks are ovevalued while some stocks are 'undervalued ' so when buying a stock, do ur own research weather that stock what the price u are buying it or not. The price of okomu oil is really overvalued. So the price correction took place which is normal. Another stock that may suffer 'price correction' is nestle plc. The share price of Nestle plc is overvalued which may suffer price correction very soon. So the investors in Nestle are hereby advised to sell their shares before the crash. This might be a time to pullout actually, because, I see this okomuoil dropping down to N25 before September. |
^^^^ thanks a lot. No wonder that stock skyrocketed within two months. People were aiming to benefit from the 1 for 1 opportunity. Thus, if someone bought 1000 units of OKOMUOIL in February at about N48 per share (N48,000), the person has gained additional 1000 units. Thus making his or her investment now N100,000. Powerful gain. |
^^^ The reason for this price adjustment is because Okomu Oil declared a bonus of 1 for 1 meaning that a shareholder will get one share for each share held by him or her. For example, if someone is holding 10 shares, he will get 10 more (20 in total). The shareholders do not pay anything for these shares. Usually, after the bonus issue, the share price of the company gets adjusted according to the bonus ratio. Since the price before the bonus issue was about N100 and Okomu Oil issued bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1, the post-bonus share price will be N50, which means that the total market value (2 x N50 = N100) remains the same.
Thanks a lot for your response. Your response is inline with one of my questions as quoted below. saintneo: Is this magic a sort of re-base of the stock value such that the owners will own double of their original stock? However, I have searched the internet for official statement from NSE or OKOMUOIL to prove the 1 for 1 offer to the customers. Nevertheless, I appreciate response from alexvatt; based on the price correction theory, I would like to see some official info. |
Just had some Roaches for breakfast.......yum yum yum |
It will be agree that the stock OKOMUOIL on the NSE rose from N50 to N106 between the month of March and May(13th to be precise). However, yesterday 14May2013, there was a sudden drop in the value of this stock to N50.4; this more than 50% decrease. My questions are: Is there not limit to price change in the NSE? Ever since I started monitoring the NSE index since Feb2013, the maximum change is ±10%. If the maximum change is ±10%, what kind of magic occurred in the OKOMUOIL stock? Is this magic a sort of re-base of the stock value such that the owners will own double of their original stock? Is their any development from the OKOMUOIL group? Anyone with good information should assist. |
alnaijiri: The real tragedy here is that a man, a Northern man presumably from a Muslim family would not only abandon the faith of his fathers, but to promote and propogate idolatry in his homeland! Converting Muslims to Xtianity will, God forbid, destroy the moral bedrock of the North.see them o! |

There are white people ( ndi ocha) & black people( ndi Igbo). Until I schooled in UNIPORT, I always thought that the entire eastern Nigeria are Igbo with the exception of Calabar people. Only fair-in-completion girls are beautiful..... Still giving them preference. Stubborn kids have bone-heads. You can speak to me. Who is this? Caller: I'm Sam Wan. And I need to talk to Annie Wan! It's urgent. Operator: I know you are someone and you want to talk to anyone! But what's this urgent matter about? Caller: Well… just tell my sister Annie Wan that our brother Noe Wan was involved in an accident. Noe Wan got injured and now Noe Wan is being sent to the hospital. Right now, Avery Wan is on his way to the hospital. Operator: Look, if no one was injured and no one was sent to the hospital, then the accident isn't an urgent matter! You may find this hilarious but I don't have time for this! Caller: You are so rude! Who are you? Operator: I'm Saw Ree. Caller: Yes! You should be sorry. Now give me your name! Operator: That's what I said. I'm Saw Ree… Caller: Oh… God! ;d ;d ;d :d |

Mtn could be funny atimes. My mtn Sim was retired back in 2009, this year I brought it out of retirement. First, mtn gave me N100 free. Then later I recharged N750, I made calls for 2weeks without my balance changing. Finally found out I had about N5000 on my promo account. A month later I registered my Sim, mtn offered me N500 reward for registering; however, my promo balance was about N8900. Used it like I own mtn for two weeks. In addition, mtn has offered me 2GB free. I think I will keep enjoying it while it lasts. |

Moyes's departure from Everton was announced earlier in the day and United subsequently revealed that he has been awarded a six-year contract at Old Trafford. "When we discussed the candidates that we felt had the right attributes, we unanimously agreed on David Moyes," said Ferguson in a statement, the day after he announced his decision to retire after 26 years in charge. "David is a man of great integrity with a strong work ethic. I've admired his work for a long time and approached him as far back as 1998 to discuss the position of assistant manager here. "He was a young man then at the start of his career and has since gone on to do a magnificent job at Everton. There is no question he has all the qualities we expect of a manager at this club." |
