Governor Aliyu never ceases to amaze me. Almajiri is a culture of the North...
I have one question for Governor Aliyu; is/was any of your children an Almajiri, were you an Almajiri when you were younger? If the answer to this question is yes, then Almajiri should be allowed to exist; else, Almajiri should be eliminated from every fragment of the society in Nigeria. |

Wadeoye: What's Wole Soyinka saying?
Can he share with us sensible sins of Buhari other than his refusal to appear before Oputa panel?
Where is the recommendations of Oputa panel today? Was it implemented? Was it Buhari that said it shouldn't be implemented? Other panels of enquiries so far set up, where is their recommendations?
Prof should understand this is democracy - hence he should stop taking us back to military era and making people think a democracy will be run like a military government. And as far as I am concerned, Buhari military experience was far better than most government before and after it. A government we couldn't trace any corruption to. A government whose only sin was been angry with the reckless of leaders and indiscipline in the society.
Will Wole Soyinka vote for GEJ?
I expect Wole Soyinka to do better than this. are you not aware that Nigeria was under a Democratic dispensation before Buhari truncated it. Most Buhari supporters always rely on Buhari's war against indiscipline; however, they close their eyes to multiple standards on discipline and justice executed by Buhari. Buhari is an abuser of power, Buhari cannot rule, Buhari must not rule. |

JohnnyPalmer: Woolwich killing: Police arrest suspect's friend
Police on Saturday questioned a friend of Michael Adebolajo, one of two suspects in the killing of an unarmed British soldier, a savage attack that has horrified Britain.
The friend, Abu Nusaybah, was arrested immediately after he gave a British Broadcasting Corporation television interview describing how Adebolajo may have become radicalised and alleging that Britain's security services tried to recruit him. Police said Nusaybah was wanted on suspicion of involvement in unspecified acts of terrorism.
Nusaybah said Adebolajo became withdrawn after returning last year from a visit to Kenya, where he claimed he had been arrested and then abused both physically and sexually while in jail. Nusaybah claimed that Britain's domestic spy agency, MI5, approached Adebolajo to recruit him upon his return to Britain about six months ago.
Adebolajo (28) and Michael Adebowale (22) are suspected of killing soldier Lee Rigby by hacking his body with knives and a meat cleaver in front of dozens of passersby on Wednesday in the south-east London district of Woolwich. The horrific scene was recorded on witnesses' cell phones, with one of the two suspects making political statements and warning of more violence as the soldier lay on the ground.
Police shot both men as they arrived minutes after Rigby's slaying. Both suspects remain under armed guard at two London hospitals.

Absolute nonsense from Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK). Do not be received by the words of a man working towards entrenchment of their prodigies on the rest of the people. If El Rufai's children that schooled abroad and probably have dual citizenship cannot secure a job after Masters degree, then they are irrelevant to the society. Let them partake in a valid recruitment devoid of backdoor solutions.
On the issue of the youths being ignorant of their condition to attack El Rufai's statement; Mr FFK, are you aware that NITEL is meant to be a great company with lots of employees? You friend Malam El Rufai destroyed NITEL while he was heading BPE. Proper privatisation of this company was not carried out, now NITEL is a big failure. Leaders care for the youth.....what a hog-wash! If leaders cared for the youths, El Rufai should have cared for the future of NITEL.
Let me not delve into the FCT matter.....

Eko Ile: The international designation was part of Jonathan's political games in the SE and of course the SE ate it up like spaghetti instead of holding him for a new airport. His promises commitments in the region is always patch patch, even the river port that was hyped endlessly is a redundant and obsolete repainted warehouse and 2 forklifts...
The fact is, the region can do better especially looking at other state's in the SS building their own airports from scratch with no federal mediocre attachments. It just beats me why the whole of SE sits and beg for everything and end up with remodeled this and patch patch that tu shut them up.
Seriously, what is going on with the SE governors? very childish and stüpîd. |

Politics › Violence: A Derivative Ideology Of Religion(another Perspective On Michael Adebo by saintneo(op): 6:48am On May 24, 2013 |
This is kinda political and religious.....not sure where to post. Dreaming Nigeria: http://dreamingnigeria..com/2013/05/violence-derivative-ideology-of.html
I must say that this article is not about promotion of any religion; it is a deeper perspective about why people choose some religions.
Currently in the news, we hear of Boko Haram, Michael Adebolajo, Ombatse, etc. Human beings then to look for company, group or association so as to fill accepted and to have some sense of direction..
Let's start from the old religions of our forefathers. People worshipped these gods because they believe that it provided some protection from the supernatural. This protection can be defensive, offensive or both. Even in the Greek mythologies, their gods where worshipped for protection as well.
Now looking at Christianity, we can observe that it was weapon against roman government, to fight the brutal oppression of the people. Even during the crusades, Christianity rallied on its members to defeat the Muslims.
Currently, most religions are do not spearhead the use of violence to defend itself. However, Islam seems to provide a justification for violence so as to fight oppression or injustice.
Thus oppressed people will always find solace in religions that justifies violence so as to carry out revenge on their oppressors.
A critical history check on Michael Adebolajo and his accomplice in the recent beheading of a British Soldier shows that both have a history of being targeted by the law such as testifying in the court of law in murder cases, gang violence, and even some racism.
Christianity must have thought Michael to turn the other cheek, Atheism must have had no meaning and solution to his problems; thus when he encountered Islam, he saw a reason to fight, a reason to defend himself., a justification to violence.
We all desire peace, but how do we obtain peace? The key is in eliminating all forms of oppression. To err is human, to forgive is divine. |

BLOOMBERG WEBSITE: Okomu Oil Nigeria Rises to Record on Dividend: Lagos Mover By Emele Onu - Apr 4, 2013 2:53 PM GMT+0100
Okomu Oil Palm Plc (OKOMUOIL) of Nigeria rose to the highest on record after it announced a plan to pay dividends and bonuses to shareholders, according to Lambeth Trust & Investment Co. The shares gained for an eight day, rising the maximum daily limit of 10 percent to 96.49 naira by the close in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, the highest since at least February 2002 when Bloomberg began compiling the data. About 7.2 million shares were traded, or more than 16 times the three- month daily average. “The company notified brokers yesterday of its intention to pay a dividend of 7 naira per share and issue 1 for 1 bonus for last year,” David Adonri, chief executive officer of Lagos- based Lambeth, said by phone today. “Investors are buying its shares to partake in the impressive distribution.” An e-mail sent to the company’s secretary wasn’t immediately returned. Okomu is yet to release its full-year results. It plans to double output of palm oil to 60 tons an hour from 2013, Chairman Gbenga Oyebode said in December. The company’s shares have more than doubled this year, compared with a 22 percent rise in the Nigerian Stock Exchange’s All-Share Index. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-04-04/okomu-oil-nigeria-rises-to-record-on-dividend-lagos-mover.html This news article goes to prove the reason behind the rise in OKOMUOIL. NSE investors are interested in dividends, they rush to buy dividend stocks thus driving the stock price higher. For the only true gainers in this investment remains the sellers. Buy low, sell high. Alexvatt may be right in his analysis, if one looks deeper. Why would a stock price be reduced just because there is an offer of 1-for-1? Makes no sense to me. This must be price adjustment strategy. |

Hello Phones People
I am having a persistent problem on my phone line.
I have an MTN line that goes way back to 2006. Somehow, this line has been idle from 2009 to Jan 2013; however, I do pop in the sim once in a while to check for SMS.
The problem is, I keep receiving calls from strangers telling me to return their friend's phone. Some even going as far as insulting me over the phone. Another, a girl keeps calling me wanting to speak to her boyfriend. And, a woman asking to speak to her relation/pastor.
In addition, I registered this SIM with MTN this year. I was expecting MTN to inform me that the number has been given away but to my surprise it is still mine. I have dialed this number using another phone to see if another person will accept my call, but nobody takes the call.
I suspect someone is fraudulently giving people this number.
MTN 180 doesn't work. How do I solve this problem? |
