CultureRe: PFN, Anambra Community Bicker Over Killing Of Snake by saintneo(m): 12:50pm On May 07, 2013
EKE NEKWA ONYE UKA ~ PYTHON, CHRISTIAN HERE

I was born and raised in Anambra, I have always known of this tradition in Anambra. These snakes visit home stay with children without harming them. I have never heard of a case where there was injury or death as a result of this snake. In my place in Enugu, there is snake we don't kill as well ~ Awgo Ocha(White Snake) usually small in size.

Somehow, there seems to be an equilibrium between these snakes and their communities. It is the same equilibrium we have with other animals like dogs. Also, these snakes could be endangered species.

I'm against the killing of this snake. Firstly, this snake was sleeping in the children's room. For the snake to be sleeping, it means the snake had being there for longer period without harming anyone. Why didn't the pastor secure his children first before seeking its destruction? Why didn't the pastor show any mercy?

Atoms star in world's smallest movie from IBM
Researchers at IBM have created the world's smallest movie by manipulating single atoms on a copper surface.
The stop-motion animation uses a few dozen carbon atoms, moved around with the tiny tip of what is called a scanning tunnelling microscope (STM).
It would take about 1,000 of the frames of the film laid side by side to span a single human hair.
The extraordinary feat of atomic precision has been certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
It is a showpiece for IBM's efforts to design next-generation data storage solutions based on single atoms.
IBM's scientists have been behind a number of technologies that can peer into atomic and molecular systems - their recent efforts using a related machine called an atomic force microscope have yielded pictures of single molecules and even images that detail the atomic bonds within molecules

favourofG: A heavy cloak of mourning falls on the nation once more today as news of Governor Sullivan Chime’s death filters in.
A reliable source who confirmed his death to codewit.com said he gave up the ghost an hour ago in India. (9pm Nigerian Time)

His Excellency, the late Governor Sullivan Chime had battled an undisclosed illness for months. When citizens began questioning his prolonged absence from Enugu, the official story was that he was on a long vacation accrued over a period of 5 years.

Meanwhile, the latest information reaching us was that The PUNCH’s Enugu State correspondent, Ozioma Ubabukoh, was harassed by seven men who claimed to be security agents in front of his apartment in Enugu around 11.45pm on Saturday after the news was first reported.

The men seized Ubabukoh’s phone and his laptop in order to stop him from sending stories to the head office.

As at press time, the men were still in Ubabukoh’s apartment and insisted that they were not leaving until 3am.

Efforts to get across to some commissioners in the state were not successful as their phones were switched off.

May his soul rest in peace.

More details shortly.

Oga@thetop.datzall, permit me to say, STFU! Rangers are a good team, as well as Pillars; however, the day went to Rangers.

Let's watch and see the future results!
SportsNigeria And Cote D’ Ivoire Clash In The CAF U17 by saintneo(op): 5:04pm On Apr 27, 2013
The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria face Cote d’ Ivoire in the final match of CAF U-17 Morocco Telecom Championship to be played in Marrakech on Saturday. Cote d’ Ivore is the only team to have beaten Nigeria so far at the finals taking place in Morocco and the Nigerians have made it no secret that the defeat is still fresh in their minds and they are seeking redemption come Saturday. The Baby Elephants for their part have said, they will not dwell on what happened in the Group B match (which they won 1-0) but will approach the new match with a mindset for victory. Nigeria last won the title in 2007 while Cote d’ Ivoire is assured of its best ever finish at the U-17 finals regardless of the final score. Up until the Ivorians beat host Morocco to reach the final the best they had achieved before was a third place in the 2005 edition......http://dreamingnigeria..com/2013/04/nigeria-and-cote-d-ivoire-clash-in-caf.html

The Clown: Fools like you would always remain in the past.
In your username....

Back to the topic. I only meant that if we do not revisit our pasts, the origin of our hate; we cannot change the future. Let us be truthful within ourselves. We have never had respect for ourselves civilians or military.
Back in the past, people of the Eastern Nigeria were mascaraed with impunity, there were celebrations in the radio stations. Civilians, residing their homes, no allegiance to coup plotters were dragged out of their homes, killed and even ràpèd. There is yet to be an inquiry about these lives lost.

If the past atrocities are revisited, there will always be tendencies of the military to ignore its main mission (protecting the people) instead they will prefer to protect themselves.

Where is Benjamin Adekunle? Where is Murtala Mohammed? Where are the destroyers of anything Igbo during the civil war? Where are the jingle creators of Federal Radio singing about the destruction of Igbos?

They should come and defend the actions of these soldiers.

Which Eaglets will soar highest in Marrakech?

And so we enter the home straight of the 10th CAF U-17 Morocco Telecom Championship 2013 and in Marrakech it has come down to a clash of the Eaglets as Nigeria and Tunisia meet in the second semi-final. The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria come into this match as the top goal scoring side with thirteen (13) strikes while The Carthage Eaglets have scored eight (cool times.

Nigeria stormed out of the blocks handing a 6-1 thrashing to The Black Starlets of Ghana before being derailed but Cote d’ Ivoire (1-0). The general verdict after that shock defeat to the Baby Elephants was that the Nigerians had become complacent and were made to pay. The Golden Eaglets have since redeemed their campaign with a 7-0 win over Congo and coach Manu Garba wants no repeat of the Ivorian episode. In preparing for the semi-final match The Golden Eaglets worked on different strategies that included practicing penalty kicks.

Two months after NYSC he committed suicide, that's very lame. It's high time we had Shrinks in every hospital. The economy of Nigeria will get worse and people - especially educated people will be committing suicide. Considering the investments in education, investment in private universities, not getting a job within six months of graduation will be terrible.

Nevertheless, this is beyond unemployment. He must have been involved in something that conflicts with his conscience and it ate deep inside his soul.
