I was actually his nemesis when he was in APC undergoing crash course on propaganda studies in Lai Mohammed Secondary School.

I pleaded and persuaded him to give up APC and Buhari whose previous Government endangered and exposed majority of Easterners to kwashiokor reminiscent to Awolowo's starvation policy during the civil war.

I am glad he reasoned with my submissions when I made it clear that Buhari was on a core Northern agenda far from Southwest Interests and a mission to balance developmental gains between the South and the North.

I anticipated and forecasted the $2.1 billion loan before hand and was right.

I think the best way forward now is to allow the senators continue in a bid to force them out will only result into unnecessary lingering problem. The mistake had already been made the day the Senate elected their principal officers. I think the ruling party shouldn't have gone to that useless party briefing leaving a very serious legislative function unattended to. From what am seeing the ruling party better accept the position of the Senate.

The APC has shown in various ways that it is a party that was not ready to take on the mantle of leadership at any given time.

It is just a party of former criminals in the PDP that came together with the sole aim of overthrowing GEJ. If their Presidential candidate was Tinubu, by now, the party would have been long buried.

That's the reason why we are having all these incessant and unnecessary mumurisim!!
Virtually all our leaders in Nigeria in the past were never prepared to take over leadership roles. Little wonder therefore will show us the reason our leaders over the years have been in one disappointing and poor leadership quality to another. I know that from the way am seeing things this administration has a long learning period. The past administration never fared much because of this.

PoliticsJAMB Urges Candidates To Check Website For Redistribution by saintopus(op): 10:52pm On Jul 26, 2015
Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has urged the 2015 UTME candidates to check its website on Monday, August 3, for the list of universities they have been redistributed to.
Speaking with Vanguard Sunday, the Head of JAMB, Lagos, Dr. Beatrice Okorie said: “The 2015 UTME candidates are to check JAMB’s website on Monday, August 3, for the list and the universities they have been redistributed to.”
Okorie, who lamented the controversy that greeted the new admission policy explained that the efforts were only geared towards helping candidates of oversubscribed institutions gain admission to other federal or state universities rather than wasting their scores.
“If we have not done that, many of these candidates would have fallen prey of the universities’ money-making machine, that is, the post-UTME without securing admission even with their high scores,” she added.
Using the University of Lagos as an example, she noted that its carrying capacities cannot accommodate more than 5,000 students, and yet has about 32,000 candidates struggling for the slots.
She said: “What we have done is to look at those who have not met with the cut-off points of UNILAG based on merit, catchment areas and the educationally less disadvantaged areas, but who have chances of securing admission in other federal and state universities and push them there to write post-UTME tests.”
Okorie, who slammed universities that are using the post UTME to make money, reiterated JAMB’s commitment to helping candidates secure admission without stress.
According to her, what is the essence of post-UTME being conducted on English, Mathematics and general papers? They are fraudulent and that is what the stakeholders have stepped in to address.”
On UNILAG, she queried the rationale behind its decision to conduct test on Mathematics for students seeking admission in subjects not related to Mathematics such as Religious Studies, History, Dramatic Arts, among others.
Meanwhile, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN on Saturday has placed its cut-off mark above 230 as students who scored 230 were not short-listed for post-UTME.
Our source said: “The Post-UTME details which came out on Saturday at UNN affected many students who scored over 200 in their UTME, even those who scored 230 in UTME were not short-listed for post-UTME in UNN, suggesting that their cut-off Mark is above 230. ‘’However, no official cut-off has been announced.’’

I like the phrase you used ("as much as he or she do not go against the social norms in the society"wink Glad you did. So do you believe or can you point to any evidence that OPEN DISPLAY of homosexuality or same sex marriage is the "social norm" in Nigeria??

What about Africa as a whole or the Middle East or Indonesia, Asia or Eastern Europe, Russia etc?? are homosexuality, same-sex marriage and trans genders the social norm or publicly accepted?

Because of how powerful the Western media is, they want to paint the picture (to convince people like you) that it is not socially abnormal & shouldn't be restricted, whereas even in the America itself there were states that had banned it by public vote of state residents. Even in America MILLIONS don't want it and I'm talking from my experience living there

With all due respect, In your attempt to be "diplomatic" or "fair" people like you end up leading nations and societies into deep wells of perversion

I'm glad your type of mindset in regards to homosexuality is limited to online comments etc. May God never ever give us in Nigeria lawmakers or presidents who will use their mandates to LEGALLY usher in this degrading atrocity into our society. Regards
Maybe I used the wrong phrase. It should have been social vices such as corruption and greed. They are greater trouble to our development than any other thing.

If not endorsing Gaysm is anti human rights, what would you call the imposition of Gaysm on the majority of the populace?

If the Majority of Africans are not willing to toe the line of the Americans, why not let it be.
My point is that if someone decide to be gay, he or she should be accepted in the society as much as he or she do not go against the social norms in the society. There should not be open legislation against it.

So? Why are a few Nairalanders who probably have not seen beyond their noses assume that they are experts in international relations?

Why are they commenting about Gay rights only? The article did mention corruption and violence as well so why?

You don't want Gay rights established claiming it's ungodly, and it's against African tradition.

But The God you know and the Bible and Quran you read is from them, imported

The phones, cars, pleasures, TV etc is from them

If you are so African-ny then go back to stone age, palm clothing and spear hunting

Quote to insult me Mr and Mrs Perfect, I'll knock you down

That said, I don't think Buhari would approve Gay rights but I just hate when people try to condemn other people, being Gay is not what you learn it's inbuilt it's psychological. But more importantly they are not less human then you all are
I liked your post not because am gay but I think most blacks Nigerian in particular leaves what is important to chase illusion and vanity. Come to think of it, we claim to be very righteous yet we swim in corruption, greed and all those vices which made us less of a human than the evil called America with their gay right issues. So to me Africa better learn to either accept their true identity or remain quiet. If anybody chose to be gay so be it.

PORT HARCOURT – Governor Nyesom Wike last night swore in twenty two caretaker committee Chairmen to replace the elected council executives dissolved by a a Federal High court ruling delivered by Justice Lambo Akanbi, Thursday morning.

The governor said he vowed to respect the rule of law when he assumed office on May 29, stressing that it was why he did not dissolve what he termed the illegality put in place by the outgone government.

According to him, some state governors had gone ahead to dissolve local government councils when they came on board but he took time to allow due process.

Continuing, the governor said he did not dissolve the twenty two local government areas, noting that it was the decision of the court.

He said the caretaker committees had to be sworn to avoid any vacuum in government.

The governor warned the newly sworn in caretaker committee Chairmen to ensure they discharge their responsibilities effectively, stressing that he would not hesitate to sack anyone found wanting.

Governor Wike further reminded the caretaker committee chairmen that their appointment was not political patronage.

“When we were inaugurated on 29 I said this administration will follow due process. We followed rule of law. Even if we know the last election was illegal we felt the rule of law and due process should take place.

A new dawn in the making?
PoliticsBUHARI- The Darkness Before Dawn- PUNCH by saintopus(op): 12:46pm On Jul 08, 2015
Since May 29, things have since either been normal on certain fronts or have even gone worse in certain areas. A friend did say admitting this would amount to admitting one was wrong to back the “Change” movement during the 2015 elections. I did ask, should one have backed the “Impunity and Cluelessness” movement that was dressed in the garb of “Transformation”? And where does one admit a government has failed after just a little over a month in office? It is not so hard to admit, for instance, that the security situation is probably the worst it has been since the end of the elections if not the worst it has been all year. Boko Haram has since taken some 500 human lives in over a dozen attacks since the turn of the new government. Is there cause for worry? The Buhari government came in on the crest of a wave of expectations, those expectations have since dwindled. If that was an intentional way to set off, the government has since achieved its aim. In fact, one has met a few staunch supporters of the government who would be happy to just see a few things happen just so they can say, “I told you!” to their cynical friends. Are Nigerians wrong to expect to see things to start happening some 40 days into the new government? Maybe, they are not, maybe, the government promised too much. And they did indeed promise too much seeing as it was obvious the country was beginning to show signs of weakness as a result of unheralded corruption and dwindling oil fortunes under the Jonathan administration. Nigerians knew all about the impunity and maladministration that took place under the immediate past government, it would be pointless to excuse the early inaction of the current administration on the failings of the previous one. That is obvious enough and that failing was duly punished at the polls at the end of March. It would no longer be the job of the new administration to tell us how the past administration’s mismanagement and corruption have hampered its work; we already know that. What they must do is get to work. That is what they promised and that was why they were voted. It may be too early to pass judgment on a government that even if it had everything going for it on assumption of office, would likely need time to settle in. On the flipside, is it too early for the new government to see the importance of engaging the citizenry? There was an address to the nation on May 29, an address that was as much a speech for Nigerian citizens as it was for the international community. There is an urgent need for a national address almost strictly for Nigerians. Press releases and statements fall short at times of national tragedies. We asked for change because we could not bear to see that the old government would go about partying hours after the destruction of lives and properties. The current administration has not done exactly that but its reactions to recent bombings have not been a sharp departure from the old. The Jonathan administration used to release statements of “condemnation” and “government’s commitment to defeat the insurgents” and to bring them “under the full weight” of the law. It was so common, an average Nigerian could write the statement as the major difference in each statement were the dates and the location of the attack. The new administration has just simply continued from there. Something has to change! When citizens die in scores, the President must be seen. If it happens a lot, the President must be seen a lot. That in itself would incentivise effective action. That is what holds in climes where the lives of citizens are not treated with levity. They do not even wait for 100 or 200 citizens to die before their presidents (or vice-presidents) mount the stage to address the nation. In most cases, when terrorists kill say five or ten citizens, the president gets behind the microphone. Note that the address does not have to be the conventional presidential address that is preceded by the national anthem on TV. It is more like a press briefing but this time, the president addresses the press. It goes a long way when the families of the deceased hear their president calling the names of their lost loved ones and personally offering his condolences and support. We are not beginning to talk about the need for President Muhammadu Buhari to mount an immediate onslaught on the terrorists. The sooner that happens the better for everyone. Waiting to have a perfect strategy before having a real go at the terrorists would leave more citizens dead. Boko Haram is not waiting to mount destruction; our government has no business waiting to repel them. While we work out a proactive response to these insurgents, we must understand and address the immediate challenge. They are coming closer. They tested the resolve of the Jonathan administration in July of 2011 when they bombed the Force Headquarters in Abuja, we cannot afford something like that to happen before we know that these murderers are hell-bent on breaking the will of the Nigerian people all over again. There is work to do! Politics has since the inauguration taken the centre stage. Politicians have been more obsessed with what they consider as “taking the spoils of war” rather than offer ideas and support for the government to hit the ground running. That is not such a surprise, it takes an outlier Nigerian politician to care more about Nigeria than he would about parochial interests. Those outliers must make their voices heard at this time, otherwise, we would simply continue the jonathanisation of Nigeria. That would simply mean that things will progressively get worse from the days of watching impunity run the show at the seat of power and gross incompetence dictate the moves of major government policies. It is too early to judge where a child would end up in life by what the child does in his or her early stages, but it would be foolhardy to ignore the child if he or she starts to show the signs the elder sibling showed that led the same to destruction in adulthood. More often than not, the morning determines the direction the day would go. For the Buhari-Osinbajo administration, this has not been such a good morning. The entrepreneurs of sycophancy, if they have already taken their place around the seat of power, would like the President and his deputy to believe that Nigerians are already impressed with their great works in the last one month. Mr. President, that is far from the truth. Nigerians are not impressed. Please, do not fall to the trap of delusion that finally consumed the Jonathan administration on March 28. Nigerians, rightfully, expected more from you because you are men of integrity and your integrity is not in doubt. But integrity does not exactly save lives, competence does and you must begin to deploy your competence into dealing with Nigeria’s most critical problems, starting with insecurity. If you want to know the truth about your government, ask someone who has never asked your government for a job or anyone you know does not depend on your government for survival.
