Shout out to all Benue people, I hail ooo.. Well according to reports, two men were tied up in broad daylight for allegedly committing a crime.

The incident reportedly took place in a Benue State community.

The story was shared by a Facebook user who posted these photos of the two old men tied up like animals.
According to him, his brother had died of snake bite in the village in Benue and that the old men were accused of being behind the death of the young man.

They were therefore brought before the village authorities for interrogation and punishment.

They were tied up up on the ground in front of many people as taunts were thrown at them.

Many of the villagers believe the two men were wizards and should be severely punished for their alleged crimes.. See their pictures below..

The Managing Director of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, (NDIC), Umaru Ibrahim, has said the agency cannot do anything except to offer some prayers to the victims of the recently crashed Mavrodi Mundial Movement, (MMM).The MMM which suspended its window in Nigeria last week due to what it called ‘heavy workload on the system’ is a scheme that “pay out current investors with new investors money.”

Ibrahim who spoke to Journalists over the weekend at the Workshop for Business Editors and Finance Correspondents in Kaduna said the Corporation will not relent in calling on Nigerians, sensitizing and enlightening them on the dangers of patronizing wonder banks.

He said beside the MMM case, there are some new cases of the emergence of the wonder banks in recent times in places like Enugu, Kaduna and Plateau states.

“For us, we already told Nigerians that MMM are not recognise, they are illegal, but some insisted that they are legal, all hands must be on deck to educate the public, today is MMM, tomorrow it could be YYY,”

Some documents have appeared online which nailed the SGF, Babachir David Lawal of corruption and embezzlement, according to a user who shared the post on his Timeline, he said..

See documentary proofs of Babachir David Lawal's corruption. This man isn't even an intelligent criminal. Just yesterday, he claimed that he resigned his appointment as director of the company that handled "grass cutting" for IDPs in 2015 after he was appointed SGF. Now we know that he actually resigned just last September. So the Senate was right. Also see the corrupt payments made into his account. Wow! Who would have thought this level of brazenly callous corruption would be perpetrated by a member of Buhari's "kitchen cabinet"? Let's see if DSS operatives will raid Babachir's house at midnight Gestapo-style--like is often the fate of political opponents of the president who are accused of corruption.

President Muhammadu Buhari commiserates with the families of three National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who lost their lives recently during the 2016 Batch 'B' Orientation Programme in three States.
The President, who describes the demise of these young Nigerians as "shocking, sad and unfortunate," regrets that they died in the course of answering the national call to serve.

He urges the families, friends and associates of the deceased to be consoled by the knowledge that their loved ones paid the supreme price while on national service and not for ignoble reasons.

President Buhari also extends condolences to the Director-General and Management of the NYSC over the transition of the youth corps members, Chinyerum Nwenenda Elechi, Ifedolapo Oladepo and Monday Asuquo Ukeme, in Bayelsa, Kano and Zamfara States respectively.

While enjoining the Management to do all within its powers to protect the lives of those under its charge, the President calls on parents and guardians of current and potential NYSC participants not to panic over the recent tragic deaths.

On the particular death of Miss Ifedolapo Oladepo in Kano State, President Buhari has ordered an independent investigation to unravel the true circumstances.

He prays that God will grant the souls of the departed youths eternal rest.

PRESS RELEASE

REDEPLOYMENT OF CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER (CSO) TO HIS EXCELLENCY NYESOM WIKE, GOVERNOR OF REVERS STATE

The Nigeria Police Force have observed the innuendos, distortion of facts and wild allegations peddled in the mass media following the redeployment of the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the Governor of Rivers State, DSP Promise Nwosu, as a result of gross professional misconduct.

2. It will be recalled that on 17th November, 2016 during peaceful demonstrations of an opposition party in the state, All Progressive Congress (APC), the Chief Security Officer to the governor, DSP Promise Nwosu was found among the protesting party faithfuls in a manner prejudicial to discipline and displaying conduct unexpected of an officer of his calibre and office.

3. In the course of monitoring the public protest, an Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Rivers State observed the presence of the CSO among the protesting partisan crowd as illegal, unlawful and outside prescribed schedule of the duties of a CSO.

4. The active presence of the CSO to the governor in a partisan crowd of an opposition party to the governor in a clandestine and suspicious manner was considered mischievous and detrimental to the security of the state and public order and also contrary to his oath of office which constitute an offence against discipline.

5. The CSO to the governor, when challenged by a superior officer demonstrated brazen indiscipline and showed disrespect to the senior officer, exhibiting conduct that violates all known norms of the force.

6. Accordingly, the CSO was officially queried for discreditable conduct, insubordination, engaging in partisan political activities, illegal duty and act unbecoming of a public officer.

7. As a result of such gross misconduct and apparent partisanship, the IGP ordered the redeployment of the CSO pending further disciplinary action. To this end, the IGP has also constituted an investigative inquiry into the officer’s open engagement in political activities, disrespect to senior officers and unethical practices.

8. It is absolutely imperative the Police and police officers are insulated from partisan politics. The IGP therefore warn all police officers in any capacity to desist from acts that portray the force in a bad light and question the integrity of the personnel.

9. In addition, any police officer, especially CSOs, Aides-de-Camp (ADCs), and orderlies attached to political officer holders or senior government officials who engages in activities outside the official schedule will be removed and made to face severe disciplinary action.

10. It instructive to maintain that the redeployment of the CSO to Governor Wike must not be misconstrued or misinterpreted as it is widely reported in the media. The Police Force must not be drawn to direct partisan politics and acts that are inimical to peace and public order.

11. The Governor as Chief Security Officer of the state is at liberty to select any officer of his choice from the strength of the command to serve as his CSO but under no circumstance should any officer abandon the security of his principal and legitimate duties to engage in direct partisan politics or conversely should any political office holder use police officers attached to them for political machinations.

Governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) moved to address the grievances in the party which are threatening its cohesion, according to the DailyTrust.

There have been calls on the party’s National Chairman Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, whose tenure expires in 2018, to resign for his purported inability to resolve the crisis rocking the party.Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) and Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, who met with the Odigie-Oyegun-led APC National Working Committee (NWC) yesterday, said the party leadership needs to make some amendments to enable the party forge ahead.

Okorocha also met with the Senate President Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara where he said President Muhammadu Buhari would soon meet the APC leaders to address the problems in the party.

The APC has moved from one crisis to another since it took over as ruling party from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in May last year. The crisis started with the emergence of Saraki and Dogara against the wish of the party.

Some chieftains of the party have accused Oyegun of not exerting his influence on how the country is being run.

Recently, the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asked Oyegun to resign, accusing him of working against democratic fair play in the handling of APC governorship primary in Ondo State, which produced Rotimi Akeredolu as the party’s candidate.

Besides, the APC is yet to have a Board of Trustees (BoT), which is seen as a serious setback for a ruling party. While fielding questions from journalists after a closed door meeting, Okorocha said the talks focused on the need to restructure the party and ensure unity among its members.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today November 1, 2016 arraigned one Ahmed Tijjani Umar and his two companies, Eximab Integrated Link Limited and Minanta Enterprises Limited before Justice Tukur Mu'azu of Kaduna State High Court on three counts of obtaining under false pretense and issuance of dud cheque.

The accused person allegedly induced the complainant to part with the sum of N24, 000,000 under the guise that the said amount was management fees in respect of contract purportedly from the National Assembly for the supply of pipes and sanitary wares to the “National Assembly Quarters, Lugbe Abuja”. The purported contract, according to the accused person, was worth N2, 051,534,525.00 (Two Billion, Fifty One Million, Five Hundred and Thirty Four Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty Five Naira Only).
Investigation into the alleged fraud revealed that the accused person had used his company Eximab Integrated Link to award the purported contract to the complainant, Fenabros Limited
.
It was further revealed that in order to decieve the complainant, the accused person through his other company, Minanta Enterprises, issued two Access Bank cheques in the sum of N7,500,000 (Seven Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) each, which were returned unpaid due to lack funds in the account.

One of the charge read that

" You Ahmed Tijjani Umar, EXIMAB INTEGRATED LINK LIMITED on or about the 10th of August 2010, in Kaduna, within the Judicial Division of the Kaduna State High Court with intent to defraud obtained the sum of N24,000,000 (Twenty Four Million Naira Only) from Fenabros Limited by falsely representing that the said N24,000,000 was a 3% part payment of Management fee in respect of a contract for the supply of pipes and sanitary wares which pretense you knew to be false and you thereby committed an offense contrary to Sections 1(1)(b) and punishable under Sections 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, 2006”.

Tijjani pleaded not guilty after listening and understanding the contents of the charge.

Prosecution counsel, Nasiru Salele requested the court for a trial date in view of the plea of the accused person and also asked that the accused person be remanded in prison custody
However, counsel representing the accused person K. Olowookere made an oral application praying the court to admit his client to bail.

Salele replied that the accused person would not be available for his trial if granted bail. He reminded the court that this particular case came up on two occasions in October and December of 2015 and on both dates, the accused person failed to appear in court which compelled the court to issue a bench warrant for his arrest.

Justice Mu'azu agreed with the argument of the prosecution and refused the bail application. The case has been adjourned to November 10 and 11 for the commencement of trial.
