Bovi posted on his Instagram Page this morning that Comedian,Basketmouth and his family were robbed at gun point at his residence in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

While the robbers carted away with valuables, no one was hurt during the 2-hour operation.

Bovi said:

Basketmouth was robbed this morning in his home in Lekki Phase 1 between the hours of 2AM and 4AM, 7th of September 2016. He and his family were held at gun point while the sad episode lasted. Nobody was hurt. Valuables were taken including the cctv device. A report has been made at the police station. He can’t be reached at the moment but will be back on as soon as possible.

The Lagos State Emergency Agency has received report of mud slide on illegal shanties around Kuata Area by Amara olu street Mechanic Village Agidingbi, ikeja. Three persons were discovered trapped under the mud.

The Agency's ERT were able to rescue two people ( a male and a female) while one adult female lost her life and the dead was recovered by the Agency Emergency Response Team .

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested one Tariah Otumba Fred, a staff of the Federal Ministry of Environment in Bayelsa State for allegedly being a serial fraudster.

The suspect is alleged to have been involved in forgery, extortion, obtaining money under false pretence, impersonation and other fraudulent activities.Fred is said to head a notorious syndicate who defrauded unsuspecting members of the public and corporate organizations using the office of the Federal Controller of Environment, Yenagoa.

The suspect is alleged to have opened an account in Sterling Bank using the name, The Controller, Federal Ministry of Environment, Bayelsa State in which he was a signatory alongside one Mr. Education Zghadina who has also been arrested by the Commission.

Fred’s modus operandi was to give companies in the state demand notice that they should make payment to the Federal Ministry of Environment for environmental impact assessment permit. The suspect who also presented himself as pollution coordinator of the ministry, a position that does not exist, employed officers whom he issued identity cards as Revenue Collecting agents for the ministry.

When a search was conducted in his house, several incriminating items including fake Identity cards of various organizations, stamps of different organizations, letter heads of the National inland Waterways and Ministry of Environment, and Identity card with his picture as a Navy Captain were recovered.

The suspects will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is completed.

Operatives of Lagos state police command at Ile Epo division is trying to unravel the cause of death and the perpetrators of a dastardly act committed against a man simply identified as Tunde who was found hanged at an uncompleted building on Rasaki Sodande Street, Aboru on Sunday September 4.

The report of the incident which was received in the early hours of yesterday stated that the victim might have been strangled to death and hanged by unknowm assailant(s) at the uncompleted building.

Detectives visited the scene of crime to take vital clues that will help police in their investigation.

The body has been deposited in a public morgue.

A man allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the roof top of Kamar Kazum Plaza in Uganda to his death. We can't confirm this report yet and the Facebook user Rabiu Biyora, who posted it didn't say when or where the incident happened but someone in the comment section mentioned the location above. The purpose of the visit was to demonstrate the Commission’s commitment to transparency and accountability through a guided tour of its detention facilities by the Deputy Director of Operations, Lagos Zonal Office, Mr. Iliyasu Kwarbai. Speaking during the tour, Kwarbai welcomed the CSOs and media representatives and assured them that the EFCC is guided by its core values; integrity being chief of them.

“We are a group of professionals. We analyze petitions, gather facts and give people fair hearing. We carry out preliminary investigation before inviting anyone. The accused person is invited last”, he said

Nigeria’s second largest commercial carrier, Aero Contractors Airlines, today announced that they have suspended scheduled services. In a statement released by the carrier’s management, it was stated that the airline had faced grave challenges in the past six months which impacted its business and scheduled services operations. The suspension of their scheduled services was part of a strategic business realignment to reposition the airline and return it to profitability.

Although the carrier claimed that the suspension starts from tomorrow, aggrieved passengers reached out to, revealing that their Aero flights were cancelled early today without any warning.


According to some passengers, flights are still being booked and paid for online, but on arrival at the terminal, you would be informed that they are not flying.

Another stranded passenger however revealed that although customers were stranded for hours and Aero staffs initially disappeared, they have started refunding money back.
