Some HND holders no doubt can outperform their (counterparts) bachelors degree holders in several respects. However, the aims of establishing these institutions obviously differs. Polytechnics are established with the aim to produce technical mid-level manpowers through practical and vocational trainings. Whereas, universities are to produce high-level manpowers, through higher educational programmes and research. The truth is, the two are not equal.
