let me share a story with u. Back in uniport in abuja campus, these militant once invaded d campus on a frivolious reason dat they av nt being paid for 2 weeks. They shot sporadicly and killed some student while some few others where crushed to death by oil tankers, and they made away wit about 20 girls who return to d hostel after been violated, some were even bleeding. Students went to govt house and demostrated but nothing was done not even a press coverage. That was nt only d atrocity they comited they went as far as kiling some few hausa/fulani's who they claim were yaradua's kinsmen who refuse to pay them.
In responce to their actions the fedral govt paid them all outstanding alawi.

@ nedra u most be one of those numerous non professional bankers or a mere teller, all u do is counting money and noting more. i will like to reffer you to BOFIA i.e banks and other fianancial institution Act 1991, and the central bank of nigeria Act. in BOFIA 1991 SECTION 9 make provisions for profit and loss sharing, and section 61 define a profit and loss sharing bank. essentialy these are the fundermentals of an islamic bank.

the fiananial problems we face today are as a result of conventional banking policies and charging of interest. how many times are we going to watch banks fail? why not creat an alternative? All our indeptedness to IMF are direct result of the harsh policies of IMF. I ask how much did we borrow and how much have we paid? for how long would we continue to pay these depts. your prolem is that u prefer to remain in servitude instead of accepting solutions proffer by islam. please read the case of KUJAFA V. BANK OF THE NORTH LTD(2004)13 NWLR PT889 p146.

my problem with nigerian christians is the fact that the most of them are bigot. Anything islam appear to threaten them. HSBC one of the bigest financial institutions in the world has a window for islamic banking known as AMANA. what the big deal about islamic banking? after the great economic depression in UK in the 30s the committee set up to look into the cause of the crises observed that trading in money was one of the causes of the depression. dont forget that the arab muslims gave the west most commercial words they use today e.g cheque which was derived from the arabic word sak plural sukuk and Umar bin hkatab was the first person to issue same, buy from the arabic word bai, trafficking whose origin was tafriq  the french word acheter is ishtara and the word tarrif was originated from ta'arifa and many others. i wont like to go into the history of islamic bank in nigeria, however in brief. in the 1960s a bank named muslim west (west africa)bank was operated in the country and the liscence was revoked latter by the then minister of finance chief Obafemi Awolowo. other attemp were made but unsuccessfull like AL- ABARKA, HABIB and JAIZ bank.
