Hi,

Send a webform that you have seen the update on your tracker. They should please issue you your PPR. This is what I did for my parents and they released it within 6 hours.

1) If you have the marriage document you are good to go, I would advise that you create a roadmap of your relationship in writing and backed up with images to show the relationship journey you and your wife have been on. that shows you are not a marriage of convenience.
2)This must be addressed, you will have to put information here. This is a faceless community so I wont speak more on this in public. You sha must prove that she has ties to Nigeria, you can use social ties and family ties but you must add economic ties.
3) It is not compulsory but it is advised.

I want to apply for spousal open work permit for my wife . I am currently on a PGWP in a NOC A job with sufficient fund in my account for the both of us

But my concerns are;
1. We got married last year December when I travelled back to Nigeria.My wife just finished school last year and she only has statements of result and no job yet. Just preparing to go for NYSC

2. I am really confused on how to represent her work experience and funding too in her name

3. Is a police clearance certificate compulsory for this application




Any help on how to go about this will be well appreciated

is this group specific to mums or generally for child-care? If it is for child-care are fathers allowed to get information from these groups as well? If not I will just ask my question here if you can please provide the answer. I have asked it earlier but the answers on the thread seem to be here and there so I am not quite sure. Please what is the process for applying for a new born Nigerian passport in Canada and more importantly is there need for NIN.

must not be this long, NIN is required,unless the state you are applying in do not use the enhanced passport,which is mostly some northern states, if not,go to local government and apply for her NIN,then you proceed to immigration office.


If you want to do it online,it cost 26k, but if you want to meet an officer,hold from 45k,that is if you are going for the 32 pages.

Anyone understand the process or how seamless or difficult it is to order a Nigerian passport for a new born in Canada that definitely has no NIN. The Canadian passport ordering was seamless I really hope our Country doesnt show me unnecessary pepper.

You are welcome! I have been only once but I dont play with my money so I make sure to claim anything I am owed lol. There is always a way to ship to US probably the re-imbursed 7% will be more than enough to SAFELY ship those expensive items. Please use a service you trust even if its more expensive to avoid stories that touch. I have bad experience with cargo ppl.

I don't know if there is a way to ship them to USA cheaply from Singapore so i can buy an extra 4 and ship to m USA address.

They will stress you in Naija when you get back. Shrink wrap your suitcase please oo, if possible roger them when you want to exit the airport because they will stress you unrealistically. In other news dont forget to collect your VAT refund form at the shop and collect your 7% VAT at the airport in Singapore before returning to naija.

I will be going to Singapore in the 26th of Sept for 5 days and I intend to buy some of the new IPhone 14s when coming back. I will walk into official Apple store and pay cash. I want to know if there is any chance of having issues with immigration/customs at any of the airports (Singapore, Doha or Nigeria). Just like 6 or 7 Phones. I will obviously have my proof of purchase and they will be inside my luggage. Do they give issues in such cases please or I am good to go?

When flagpoling go with your child. Visa extension will be given, it is very difficult to leave Canada when you have entered. Unless you want to, there are numerous avenues in which the government creates pathways to get a work permit or a PR. The hard part is for VO to give you that work permit or study visa.

Hi guys its been a while. just said let me drop an update, my friend came to meet his wife in Canada with his visitor visa and flagpoled to convert to open-work permit just this Monday. I feel so bad about your application, I often come back once in a while and see that you are active. Sometimes we calculate too much and suspect we have made a mistake meanwhile we just fell into the hands of the wrong VO. please get your GCMS note and address the concern there, Dubai,Maldives or even seychelles will be along the lines of remedy for travel history. West African stamps have little to no impact t0 a VOs decision as they are basically seen as local travel. Small time difference dey but if you need someone to bounce off ideas with please let me know.

For hometies, my proof of emplyment(letter from HR for vactation, payslip, pension account were presented), landed property, car document, family members (eight siblings, aged mother and father inlaw)

No travel History. I am thinking of travelling to few western african countries to get that corrected.
I submitted on 22nd of February, 2022.
I still have sowp application undecided.


I need our advise please

Dual-intent is as the name implies 2 different intents. Visit visa and open work visa are both temporary class applications. The only reason that would make sense that a VO said the application seemed desperate was maybe they sent the SOWP and the Visit visa at the same time. The usual cases that have worked so far is after the SOWP has exceeded application deadline they then apply for Visit visa. I think the best advise (harsh it may sound) is to wait a bit before tendering a visit visa. God will make it easy for us all.

Pls house, I got to Canada January this year and decided to apply for SOWP for my wife on 18th Feb, 2022 (barely a month now). But the truth is with all the news m reading here about people waiting close to and more than a year without any response is scary. I am thinking of applying for visitor’s but then again , I saw a recently rejected application with dual intent (SOWP and visitor) here on this same forum. Reason they gave was applicant appeared quite desperate. Pls house, can you advice if I shld still go ahead with the visitor’s application

Hi, I will be honest with you I only ever entered Nigeria to collect my passport. I was already based in the UK so I was swapping a lesser evil for a more permanent immigration situation. This question you have asked is very complex let me not lie, but I will try my best.

-Remain focused, dont get carried away. Arriving in Canada give yourself a target every month.
-Remember that you are bringing value to their economy through taxes and that you also have value yourself. In the daily hustle and applying for jobs people forget that they were coming from Naija in a position of 1st class citizen and reach here and slide into 2nd class citizen behaviour.
-It is very expensive!!! reduce your overhead costs as much as possible!
- Google is your friend! Internet is everywhere so make sure you research every single thing, there is always a better deal and there is always someone calling out a potential scam online.

in terms of preparation
-Nothing can prepare you my friend! gather as much money as you can and make sure you get a job!!! income is important, no matter what you carry into Canada the money go finish! everything is taxed and every time you leave your house better money dey comot for hand!
- apply for your MSP as you land (Medical service provider)
- apply for work from naija and if possible go on fiver and pay someone to properly edit your CV!!

hi Marh, i replied your email and have replied the newer one, please reply to the thread of email so we can further iron it out. but for everybodies consumption this particular application once the eligibility is passed i think yo are good to go, pressurize Nairobi to send your PPR,it should be out any day now to be honest. We applied for a visit visa on October 23rd, 2021 contacted my mp to help inquire about the application and got this from him.

TRV application:
Eligibility – passed on December 1 20221
Criminality – passed on December 1 2021
Waiting for final decision and review by officer; there is no timeframe.

Congratulations! this is record time, was this a stand alone SOWP application?

wow thats terrible, in the GCMS note it didnt record the MPs that reached out? so you can now tell which of them you can ask to do the urgent processing

The MPs in my wife’s city are very annoying, they claim to have contacted IRCC but they didn't, she went to their office with baby asking for assistance, they got my information but no update till today. The only MPs that opened a case file for me was from Alberta, Mississauga and Montreal the rest kept insisting they would inquire. One from Ottawa even hung up on my wife sef.

why is it that you guys keep asking them to inquire on your file and not request for urgent processing? especially candidates that have opted to do visiting visa as a supplementary action. granted when i attempted to do SOWP urgent processing through the MPs IRCC ignored me but visit visa under reuniting with your spouse or immediate family member that works. please lets be more aggressive and less meek guys! God will grant us all this thing in Jesus name.

the school may ask for your mailing address to redirect you but try both of them. anybody wey loseguard jump on am. i done land tey tey, its running around and arranging things that have been stressing me out. plus time difference.

LANDING GIST

I booked Ethiopian Airlines for the 5th because it was the cheapest flight that i could buy the day before as i had just received my passport back.
the long and short of this is that all the documents i printed na only the Ethiopian airlines people in Lagos ask for am. they asked for enrollment letter, photocopy of my wife's study permit, my covid result and asked how long she had been there. the flights were all calm but the addis ababa to Toronto was long as Bleep.
the flight was
LAGOS
ADDIS ABABA
TORONTO
VANCOUVER.

all the stop-overs were 2 hours that later would come back to haunt me as in Toronto it is near impossible to go through the immigration screening, random covid test (it says random but all the people that came from Nigeria were picked "randomly" and baggage claim. and also you must check-in 45 minutes to a domestic flight so they had to rebook me for a later flight, depends on how you talk and who you meet you may end up paying for the flight change charge, me sha i didnt.

The flight to Vancouver that i was rebooked for got further delayed so i had time to go and change money and reply emails and do some work. if you use Ethiopian airlines try to book with the app and join their rewards it will make you eligible to ignore up to 5kg excess luggage when leaving from Nigeria. In Toronto they only asked for a copy of my wife’s study permit and told me to go, i wasted soooo much money printing all the rubbish in the world in Naija.

Anyways long and short, its less stressful for SOWP clearing immigration than students.

i got it yday, in the airport now. will drop landing gist, had to come to lag then from there i am proceeding to Vancouver. the truth is because of all the public holidays and what not abuja ended up taking 11 days

sending it to lagos vfs na like 2 weeks there about its not terrible, if you are not in a rush. plus flights are relativel;y cheaper towards ends of January, so not a bad idea to pick lagos vfs. but if you wanna be out of naija in 8 days or less then pick abuja but cant lie to you flights are bloody this period oo

please search for the MP servicing your university district and reach out to them via email and request for urgent processing, in the same way order for a GCMS note. when the gcms note is being dispensed it gives them an opportunity to go over your application again. sometimes applications are a bit complex and need a bit of a push to get them to pick it back up.
