Imagine a country is being hurt, our children are dying, girls are still missing, territory under occupation, yet the so called leader of ours continues to act as if there is no problem and all is well, shame on all those who voted him, shame on all those who support him, he who is morally bankrupt will support GEJ! barcanista: When General Muhammadu Buhari came to power, there was wide corruption in the Second Republic. A decree was passed that nobody take out or bring in foreign currency into the country. Offenders are liable to 10years in Jail. This decree was to curb money laundering by politicians and corrupt businessmen.
FELA KUTI Fela had performed abroad, he was paid in foreign currency in cash and had it on him on his return to Lagos. He was subsequently arrested for breaking the law and was prosecuted, found guilty and jailed.
PLEA: There was a plea by human right groups to Head of State Buhari to "pardon" Fela, he refused because he believe that the law be served to the letter.
THE OFFENSE, GMB AND FELA: First, there was an existing law/decree.
Secondly, Fela bringing in cash means it contradicts the law/decree, however, the money is from hard work. Morally, he's justified! Legally, he is not.
Buhari had refused to grant pardon, because the law was broken. If he grants pardon, some section of politicians will accuse him of preferential treatment. He didn't because he believes in absolute discipline. By law, he is justified. Morally, he is not, considering that it was Fela's sweat(my opinion). The law does not work with emotion unfortunately.
MY OPINION: GMB should have pardoned Fela. The law should have made for exception. Buhari should have tampered justice with mercy Double mouthed people. Ignorance is not an excuse. If Fela wass not jailed for the offence he commited its you people that will still accuse the government that some people are above the law. If you want to critisize Buhari, do it construtively putting legality into consideration. You people were saying Idiagbon was the one ruling then, now you are accusing Buhari of Fela's predicament. We are all Nigerians living right here in Nigeria during the regime. I was not jailed neither were you. Because we never went against the law. This tampering of justice with mercy is what has led Nigeria to where we are today. Nigeria will never move foward if we continue to alter justice for mercy. |

Who really are the brains behind the APC. Clear political master strokers are in the Party. Check out the change of date of the ward congress, check the mini convention of the party.
Change in ward congress- wait for the PDP to shoot itself in the foot with clear cries of shortchange and injustice and also hijacking of delegates of course aggrieved people will pull out.
Conduct of mini convention- conduct a change in the party constitution allowing anybody to declare and contest any post in the party at least 30days to the election. Of course many will rush to pick up APC forms and declare for the Party.
Check out Tambuwal's defection, waited for the house leader to move the motion for adjournment before announcing his defection . The house cannot be reconvened since it was properly adjourned. Even all the house PDP caucus leaders were caught unawares.
APC teaching PDP how politics is played since 2012. I didn't hear okuigbe changed his name since he said he should be called a bastard if the APC didn't implode by 2014.
Learners all of them. Don't mind them, all their strategies is based on how to rig elections and keep looting the economy. |

GEJ THIS AND PDP THAT
MIND YOU I AM NO CARD CARRYING MEMBER OF ANY PARTY BUT THEIR ACTIONS IS NAUSEATING ME, I MUST CONFESS If you are not a card carrying member of PDP and you are vibrating this way. Then you are not living with us in Nigeria. Nigerians are suffering silly, even the supporters of PDP are equally surffering, joke and sentiments apart. My take is why can't we change this government even when we all agree that the next party is worst. For nearly sixteen years nothing cogent has been done to the benefit of the masses by this ruling party. Can't we think for ones. The resultant effect of one single party rigging to always rule is what we are witnessing now in Nigeria today. |

Politics › Re: According To Prof. Wole Soyinka: "Only Four Sets Of People Can Vote For The PDP" by samento: 9:37pm On Nov 06, 2014 |
mikeansy: PDP has not always lived up to expectation. They are not a great political party by world class standard.
Jonathan Goodluck is not a charismatic leader nor a great leader!
But it is too easy to criticise PDP in isolation without suggesting who the alternative is.
Compared to Democrats or Republicans in USA, PDP is rubbish! But I will vote PDP 10 times before APC and I will also vote Jonathan 100 times before Buhari.
So the Professor has to provide what in his wisdom is a relative assessment of PDP in a Nigerian context. You can't just benchmark PDP against nothing and say " do not vote PDP".
Please who do we vote instead? If PDP continue to rule this country for four years more, I bet you, you will not be able to train your children because of the level of poverty we must have found ourselves. |

dlox147: your darling Buhari Should explain the N2.8 billion NNPC money that got stolen under his watch as Petroleum Minister and head of NNPC in 1978? Let’s bear in mind that the value of that money in hard currency at the time was more than $3 billion.it is also on record that the Shehu Shagari government, which shortly took over thereafter from the military, set up a Senate probe which traced the money to a London Midland Bank account belonging to Buhari from where the money again got missing..Buhari is no saint You talk rubbish. How old. Were you then. |
