Germany was run by a certain Adolf Hitler who killed 6 million Jews- it doesn't matter that his face wasn't the last thing the victims saw.... he ordered and championed the policy of extermination, he and the other leaders were/are held responsible till today. Wether those useless witnesses saw the defendants or not a company cannot engage in corrupt practices without human beings pulling the strings. A good read.
It just reminds me how much I loved and admired the "beautiful" mind of the man Achebe; that is till he revealed to us all in his latter days his core tribalism.
On another note, any man who can sell his brother to lands far far far away for useless items like mirrors, wrappers and gin was always bound to metamorphose into the laughing stock of races.
Corruption has been with us for a long while |

MMMscam: Captain Chinyere Kalu, first female pilot in Nigeria. The specifics of "commercial airline" was included to correct the erroneous info in the article that she was the first female fighter pilot. Nigerian airways was a commercial airline but not the only commercial airline. So just because Hadiza was the first female pilot to fly a Nigerian airways plane doesn't mean she was the first female to fly a plane in Nigeria. Do you understand now? Hadiza was still student in school when Captain Chinyere Kalu had been flying planes as a licensed commercial pilot. Oga you are the one who needs to calm down and eat humble pie. You keep stating she was the first commercial pilot and you have provided no evidence to prove so. Everything so far states she was the first female in the country to qualify as a pilot and fly a plane, that does not in anyway make her the first female commercial pilot.
Just like cars on the road, licenses differ. Because I ride an okada on the road does not mean I can drive a car. Because I drive a car on the road does not mean I have the right, licence or experience to drive a BRT or Dangote truck. In most English Speaking countries a commercial plane remain flights available to the general public to get them from A to Z. They are a generally a minimum size. Private jets and cargo jets are not commercial planes. I have a feeling you know this but you insist your erroneous assertion to be proved right at all cost. |

jiggaz: I have been thinking lately why dis is so.. I mean there are some songs by some African Acts that will be ruling airwaves across Africa but we dont even hear of them here in Nigeria & the farthest they can come to West Africa will be Ghana. I know Sarkodie was able to break into the market likewise Cabo Snoop & a few others but dat is it. One example is Nameless from Kenya, he released a Hit single in Kenya called Sinzia in 2005/06. D song was very big in East Africa, Central Africa & some parts of Southern Africa but lo and behold it didnt even smell the shores of Nigeria. Another example is d rampaging girl- band ''Blu 3'' from Uganda. These girls burst onto the African music scene in 2004 with their Hit single ''Hitaji'' which ruled airwaves in East Africa, Central Africa & Southern Africa. Though some Nigerian radio stations played the song, it didnt record any commercial success like it did in other African countries. They released another song in 2009 ''Where You Are'' ft Radio & Weasle & it was a massive hit across Africa, it was also number 2 on MTV Base African charts for weeks. It was even played on MTV Europe. The farthest they broke into West Africa was Ghana but never Nigeria. There are other Hit songs by artistes from East Africa that recorded so much success around Africa but they did not make any impact in Nigeria. Hit songs like Gold Digger by Jackie Chandiru from Uganda, Siamini by TID from Tanzania, Lookie Lookie by Stella Mwangi frm Kenya & One and Only by Navio frm Uganda etc.... I happen to know about these songs cos i'm someone that loves good music no matter its origin & i research very well too. Language is neva a barrier to me. So my question is ''What do u think is limiting these good African artistes from breaking into the lucrative Nigerian music market''? Is it language barrier, finances or what? From what i discovered, artistes from East African countries & Africa in general believes dat to break into Mainstream Music in Africa, u have to conquer Nigeria first which is true... So nairalanders, spill ur opinions. Its all welcomed
The picture below is the Blu 3 girls from Uganda. Also the fact that in those climes, naija music rules the airwaves shows their artist need to improve like the South Africans have. A Blackman is just generally attracted to good sound, it's like a moth to a flame.( btw who remembers Chapelle's skit on what makes good sound to whites and blacks? one of the funniest and truest skits ever!) |

The picture below is the Blu 3 girls from Uganda. Very poor analysis, you should have asked the real question you wanted to which is "why do East African pop artistes fail to chart in Nigeria" and the simple answer to that is they are not very good. I base my answer on the fact that good music has always been appreciated in this country, no matter where the owner is from. Highlife mainly from outside Nigeria (Ghana) ruled pre independence. Shortly after our local folk artistes improved and they ruled the airwaves till the early 80s. From then on, like the rest of the black world, we were enraptured by the great sound of black America. In the 90s our local artist refused to improve or tried too closely to mimic hip hop, RnB and reggae dancehall that ruled that era. But by the late 90s when the quality of makosa was too good we were swept of our feet and danced to songs we never knew the meaning of. It continued like that till the early 2000s when our naija hip hop artists improved their game, localised their sounds and now they are the bee's knees everywhere. The Blackman and especially Nigerians appreciate good music no matter the language barrier- this evidenced by the fact that in a country of 200 languages, everyone still dances to the Yoruba influenced hip hop sound though they don't understand the language. Phyno's track was the biggest last year and it's not because we are all Igbo or Christian- it's simply a hot song! When it comes to football and music, Nigerians stop seeing tribe. The honest truth is if your East African friends improve their game, we will listen to them just like the way we still play the really good south African dance acts/ folk music and Ghana has secretly invaded our airwaves again using our son as their General! it's so funny isn't it. |

Mr. Reno way we started N/L together in those days stated very obvious points waiting, begging, pleading, and anticipating to be countered. Say for example that GEJ didn't fire Yakubu, or that APC didn't oppose his removal, then you would really have a point. And if you don't have a point, it's ok to say so. Oga let us hear word joor! What points did your lazy two faced hero make? The internet does not forget ( at least that's what your lazy cohorts have been drilling in our ears these past few days) and a simple search on Google "why andrew yakubu was sacked" reveals several articles all claiming he was sacked for daring to do his job and fighting your goddess Deizani. Now you all want to change the story and paint your Moronic hero in Otuoke a hater of corruption! Why did he not sack Yakubu when a whole CBN governor told him 20billion was missing! Do we really have to bring out the articles where your President said that was not possible and Yakubu sided with him. You are all just a lazy hopeless bunch. Imagine, you always say Lai Mohammed speaks for APC and Lai=APC, yet the meanderings of some nameless youth wing from southern Kaduna now represent APC fighting for Yakubu shey- God will continue to confuse all of you and keep allowing you all to expose your ignorance like Nnamdi Kanu's wife who claimed Oliver Cromwell brought democracy to England!! Politics › Re: Reno Omokri Reacts To Andrew Yakubu Loot by samstradam: 10:09pm On Feb 11, 2017 |
This Reno is becoming a bloody nuisance with his army of lazy idiots who take his every word as gospel.
GEJ did not fire him for corruption and I challenge anyone to bring out a story that confirms this. The only person in his regime that could have been said to have lost their job due to corruption was Stella Oduah- and she was never charged or investigated by the EFCC.
When a President takes stealing seriously he ensures prosecution - this can be seen by what happened to all the service chiefs, Dasuki, Supreme Court Judges and useless permanent secretaries this government has relieved and are currently dealing with.
Yes, as long as the likes of Babchir Lawal stay in government they remain a huge stain on Buhari's anti corruption fight, but it is at least a fight! Unlike what we witnessed from the idiot of Otuoke who allowed everyone to loot our limited resources without a struggle or consequence in mind. |

When it involves assault and abuse of fundamental human rights, it rape.
When it consensual, it planned and hence both parties are in agreement to that.
So directly or indirectly, your ex was enjoying consensual sex behind your back. Same goes with the OP. Oga why are you so fixated about rape victims being devious or laughing at people's back? I never said my ex was raped while she was with me- the said rape encounter was one of her very first experiences and the later consensual sex with the same rapist was way before she met me. She only confided the full story to me after someone tried to assault her again late at night on the street, which brought all the memories flooding back. I think the OP was looking for people to give him true life advice and not to be telling him he has been decieved. |

TheSlyone2: You obviously are not getting the point dude.
Incase you find it difficult to understand what I put t up there, I'll summarize for clarity.
Regarding the statistics, regardless of how promiscuous rape victims could be after the said act, am totally not after her sex life. Rather, am after the intent behind the rape.
Before you call sexual assault a rape, you must first ask whether it was a consented act or not. It possible she wanted the sex and the only way to get it is to put herself in a position where guys will make irresistible attempts at her.
How she responds afterwards will tell much if she's a hypocrite or just a victim.
I hope this helps to broaden your understanding Bro, you cannot broaden my understanding of the matter; like I said I have been in the shoes of the OP more than once and these include ladies of different races and classes, yet they all exhibited this dangerous streak the OP's girl is showing. My issue with the stuff you are writing is you keep insuating the girl is lying and in general you keep equating rape with sex when both are actually quite distinct. Straight to the point the OPs girl reminds me too much of my own experiences- and one in particular that went as far as not only putting herself in dangerous situations repeatedly but actually engaging in consensual sex with her rapist !! (explaining this will involve another thread). Anyway, she and most other girls that were raped early, tend to be quite truthful and do not lie about these matters to the guy they have chosen to unburden themselves to. So yeah I feel sympathy, but to the OP because I have been where he's been. Anyway, I do agree with you that a lady who behaves like this does seem hypocritical, but aren't all ladies hypocrites to a certain extent |
Romance › Re: Raped But Still Loves To ... by samstradam: 4:20pm On Feb 01, 2017 |
TheSlyone2: Gentleman, I passed my judgment based on what he wrote. That's why I made reference to his write up.
Now to the issue. It like you didn't care to finish reading before taking a sweep at my comment. He said this lady claimed to have been raped once and have survived a series of rape incidence in recent times.
See am not after the rape. Rather, am concerned about her consenting to the act "Rape". If you have been raped once, it only normal to take precautionary measures so as to avert a recurrence of such case in the nearest future.
Her own case is exactly the opposite. She was a victim of rape, yet, she keeps paying random visit to all manners of guys... Does that speak well of her?
She may claim she's smart and can handle things. If she could, she wouldn't have fallen prey in the first place.
You know why I think your defense is superficial?
If this girl happens to be the type who learns from her past, your defense would have been justified. Like the saying goes "if you can't take the heat, get the hell out of the kitchen"
Again, you made a bizarre point that everyone love sex. How does this point relate with the recent discussion?
Does her love for sex justifies lying to her boyfriend about her sexual status? Why can't she go about her search for sexuality with all sense of maturity? . I mean, you want sex, just don't make it seems you were rapped
Everyone love sex, yet we have people who are still virgins Everyone love sex, yet we have people who after being rapped live a normal life without blaming all incidence of sexuality on their sexual assault.
Research have shown that 90% of rape victims end up sleeping with random guys... That's a fact. Now, if she so much love sex, that isn't a problem in a any case. Blaming all her incidence of sexual activities on her sexual assault is lame. It's not by force you must give advice if you are confused and it is not a crime to not give advice. Even your advice contradicts itself. Imagine saying a girl that was raped will not put herself in harm's way and will behave responsible yet you quote "statistics" that claim 90% of rape victims are promiscuous? Anyway, in my own experience, those stats you pulled out echoes the truth about how some rape victims try and deal with their trauma and regain the "power" they feel they have lost. OP, I say to you again, I do not believe she is lying to you but if you cannot live with the dangerous game she is playing, just leave her and move on. |

bukiboy: We always judge people based on our understanding/misunderstanding. if we could stand in other people's shoe and imagine what goes on in their head we will have no choice than to approach people we've judged and apologies to them, care for them and continue to show love to them.
I have met different kind of people, with different mindset about life. Most common rational is for a girl avoid guys after a rape incident, but sometimes that's not the case. we all love sex, we all want people to desire us, we all want to be loved, we always appreciate to hear good comments about us from other people.
My point is we should not be quick to judge others. The girl need a good emotional support.
TrapQueen, TheSlyone2, makydebbie i think we should take about her state of mind rather than thinking she just want sex(we all love sex). Seems you are the only "grown up" on this thread. OP, my advice is that with some women, the obvious is not always obvious. I don't believe she lied to you. I dated and loved 2 ladies with similar stories to this and just like you, I struggled to understand why they were so comfortable with the opposite sex and put themselves in risky situations. At the end, all that matters is if you are comfortable with her and can live with this part of her character because I can tell you it will not change. Both my relationships ended because of other matters but TBH they would have ended eventually because of that "baggage", or should I say because the young me was bulking under the pressure of carrying the "baggage". |
