I'm not sure who advised all the telecom networks to start scamming people but it's everyday for the thief and 1 day, just 1 day for the owner. I was playing candy crush on my phone when a full screen alert popped out of nowhere and the OK button was just where I was swiping. Next thing #50 has been deducted for rubbish I would never in a trillion years even glance at. Called customer care and they cannot refund my money. They apologized profusely but you could tell they were well versed and used to complaints like mine. Pretty sure they were just following a script because I spoke to 3 agents and the only difference was that the voice changed. After suffering through the same ordeal with airtel and glo, I have some questions/observations: 1. After the endless barrage of calls and texts each day, the new strategy is full-screen popups/alerts that obscure and interfere with whatever I am doing on MY PHONE. I didn't collect money from MTN to buy my phone neither do they give me free credit. If I need a service, I will seek it out. 2. There should be a process for refunds within a window. Not implementing one shows that you intend to defraud people. |
aliyubaka:Been using glo for a very long time now (as evidenced by my 0805 number) and they have never taken 1byte out of turn. Might sound like a glo hypeman but I've also used airtel and mtn extensively for data and both have (at on time or another) zapped my data. Can't really speak for Etisalat though. |
Chelsea rape in progress. The perp responsible: Arsenal! |
The fact is that it's also happening in real life. In offices (both government and private), bars, schools, even in churches. People carelessly make statements like, " That stupid [insert name of tribe here] man/woman. That's how they all are". You'll be in the midst of people having a nice general conversation and some/most/if not all, will switch to their native dialect and continue the discussion. I think I'm a more sensitive to this issue because I'm from 2 minority tribes from 2 minority states and I see the same behavior across the board. People who complain about such behavior in the 3 major tribes turn around and do the same to others. The internet only makes it more visible. Same as it has always been. |
Ifexxy:In which dimension is the Xbox one more expensive than the PS4? Ever since MS dropped the mandatory Kinect requirement, it has been cheaper. |
Something slightly fishy is going on. The network seems to temporarily disconnect about every 2-3 minutes. |
rawdpiper:Don't mind him. Good to know I can re-subscribe multiple times. I will make sure I finish the internet. |
God bless airtel. Currently using this and although it's not as fast as MTN, it's okay. Using glo #2500 for 10gb as my daily driver together with mtn night #25 for 500mb and now airtel #50 for 1.5gb is amazing. |
A friend of mine claims that Amazon DCC works with UBA. Argued with him for a bit 'cause that's my bank and it stopped working ages. ago. Can anyone confirm? 208 is nothing to sneeze @. |
Feel sad for the poor people who queued for fuel only to lose either their life or property. God help us. |
From the Lagos (I wanted) to Kaduna (No better option). God pass them sha. |
Someone needs to catch all the top nysc officials, make them lie down on hot sand, then flog the stupidity out of their spirit. Arrant nonsense! |
Decker:Sounds EXACTLY like a very slim girl I used to know. Very serious psychological issues. |
The op seems to lump cracking together with hacking. As someone in the security track, it's important to distinguish between the 2. Hacking implies gaining unauthorized access to a system while cracking implies breaking some form of cryptography or hash. RAT stands for Remote Access Trojan. I expected to see oclhashcat-plus or Jack the Ripper as examples for Rainbow table / brute-force software. Aircrack-ng suite (including aireplay, airmon etc) and reaver are examples of WiFi (WEP/WPA2 and WPS respectively) cracking software. |

Anyone familiar with slickdeals will have definitely come across this phrase "In for a cancellation". You know why? Whenever people see deals that are too good to be true they know that the worst that will happen is that their order will be cancelled. Sometimes, in spite of it being a price mistake, the retailer will still honor the orders. I'll like to posit an analogy (which as most analogies are, doesn't correlate exactly to the situation @ hand). Let's say I walk into a store and see an item for far less than I expect it to be. Excited to see such an amazing deal, I purchase several of that item. I pay using POS and i'm debited @ the exciting rate. I go home and use the items then in a few days, I'm debited extra to cover what the going market rate for the items would be ( I know POS doesn't work like this but let's say it does for this analogy). What would all you GTB defenders do? |
All these people defending GTB here are irritating. I can't count the number of times GTB has double-debited me in the past 8 years. Sure, they reverse it but only after the end of the month and after they have used the money to do whatever they want. These are DEBIT cards not CREDIT cards. The former only allows you to use your funds in the account while the latter allows you to use money you don't have. BIG difference. If they made a mistake, they should kindly explain to the customer and offer options to resolve it and not putting people's account in the negative. No one is a child here, you own up to your mistakes not transfer the burden onto someone else. They are responsible for the integrity of their systems not the customer. The banks make their workers - the tellers - pay for any imbalance in physical cash deposits because it's (you guessed it) THEIR FAULT. I didn't participate in this knowing that the Nigerian system doesn't work and I don't want to get high BP over stupidity. |
Joavid:This used to bother me quite a bit, but I realized something - don't assume everyone here is educated. I will be the first to scream bloody murder in some sections like NYSC that require everyone involved to be graduates, but nairaland is an open forum so anyone with an Internet connection is more than welcome to participate. This includes the uneducated (wanted to write "illiterates" but that seems insulting and condescending). Makes my head hurt at times but I'm over it. |
Good Lord! Arsenal get haters sha. What this match has to do with Barca, only God knows. Arsenal beat Leicester today. End of story! |
beautycrush24:My selections were the less evil of the choices I was given. 1st 2 fields brought up only northern states, bottom 2 were now southern states. Given an open and free form selection, Kaduna would never be one of my choices. |
beautycrush24:Lol @ 'first choice'. Abuja, Kaduna, Lagos, Enugu in that order. Got lagos which was also my 'first choice'. |
hammedkola:Thanks. It worked like a treat. Lagos here I remain. My preferred 3rd choice. Btw, anyone who hasn't received any message from NYSC shouldn't be bothered. I didn't but I was still able to print the call-up letter. |
meetmal03:Go to humblebundle.com. It's a site where you donate to charity and get free games but if you don't need the games, you can ignore it. Minimum is $1 I believe. |
I keep getting "Records Not Saved. Severe Problem has occured While Registering you..." when I try to submit. Dafuq is this? Just jumping from one issue to the next. Tomorrow the media will say it was a hitch-free process. |
Based on what I can see here, this camp na strictly pidgin engrish things. Oya na! |
As an Arsenal fan that can see his team is not serious about the league, let Leicester City carry the league. They deserve it with all their hardwork, focus and determination. Only thing is that Arsenal will beat them next week. Best they can pray for is a draw. |
kaysy:I started the process late and then discovered that the NYSC senate list checker gave an error. Before I could get the JAMB issue fixed, it was extremely late. Just decided to wait for this batch A now. |
I need some clarification. My name was sent for 2015 Batch B but due to this jamb regularization and all, I missed it. It's now been fixed from JAMB's end (showing admission given) but checking senate lists on the NYSC site still shows error. Question is: Must my school still send my name with the new list for this batch A using the same JAMB no or will I be automatically rolled over to the next batch (this 2016 Batch A)? |
Anyone know where I can get a screen/digitizer replacement for the g pro E980? Mine is bad and I need it fixed asap. |
angelo5uk:Lmao!! See me hustling to manage and use UBA for PayPal. Try shopping on amazon, macy's or GAP with that card let cold catch you. |
Fulaman198:What about a liquid-cooled desktop 980 in a laptop? For me, that's all besides the point of the SB hybrid. For those who want to run the latest and future games at 200fps on 120Hz 4k monitors, they all know where to get their fix. There will never be one device to rule them all. Each has their place. What's the battery life of the GT80? Weight/portability? How's the physical design? Can I take it to a meeting with fellow business executives and not feel out of place? Can I annotate and make notes o it's screen? The list goes on. Technically, it's a multimedia notebook not business. I personally prefer devices that are well balanced in every aspect. Go out with it for some light/casual browsing a work, come back home plug it in for some gaming etc. Horses for courses, different strokes for different folks. |
It's not an iDevice so don't expect proper coverage. Even Anandtech's articles were so unenthusiastic about all the MS devices unveiled today. All the prices are kind of on the high side but the devices are lovely. |
