phayvorr: its a nice concept sha but i'm still not happy with the idea of limiting we nigerians nd asking us to update our bank details always.....abeg howmany atm card una want make I add?I verified only 1 card and haven't had any issues with it since. Been shopping like no mans business. The report is slightly deceitful though, because I've been shopping on amazon with domiciliary accounts/dollar visa cards and more recently, normal naira mastercards since ~2009. The only (non)problem is shipping to naija of which I have a million relatives and friends in the US who can either ship it or bring it down. |
I was able to use my naija opened paypal account to buy both xbox one and xbox 360 controllers from ebay. Payment went through successfully and the items have been delivered to my cousin's house in the US. Also used it to purchase both the humble 2k and codemasters bundles. It works flawlessly everywhere I tried it but ensure the site has a delivery address field because paypal will only allow you to set a nigerian address. Luckily, ebay does and my cousin's address is my primary address on ebay. |
overdrive: Bros tell me more I use samsung galaxy s,how do I manually configure d dns. ThanksI'm not using an android phone so I don't really know. Just google your model followed by "manually configure dns". |
omoboy08: #122# to check your data balance luluosas: Dial #122#. Thank you. Many thanks to you guys for the replies. I've figured out a way to get mine browsing again. For anyone who has tried all the access points (gloflat, glosecure, glogwap etc) and it still browses slowly, all you have to do is manually set your DNS servers. For some reason, some people have poor connectivity with theirs so you can use google's - 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. The steps for each os/phone are different so research yours. My connection is blazing fast now whereas I couldn't even browse before. Just a heads up! |
Does anyone know how to check the bounce data balance? #124# only gives me 2 options now - 1 to check balance and 0 to quit. #124*4# gives me a message "your request concerns an invalid bundle" and I've tried all access points and can't browse. What's up with the bounce? Used to work flawlessly for me even with blackberry.net. |
This happened to me last year october with the same aero contractors on a flight from Abuja to Lagos. Booked and did everything online in Makurdi where I stay. The flight was for 7:30pm so I took a cab to Abuja by 12pm, got to the airport well ahead of time - at about 5pm, checked in and was greeted with delays upon delays till we finally left Abuja by 2:30am. They have very terrible customer service and all we bot for compensation were some miserable snacks that won't even cost #150. Added to that was the cost of food in the waiting lounge - #1500 for shortbread being one of the cheapest things there and we had no choice but to buy. |
Plans for a £3,000 "security bond" for some "high risk" overseas visitors to the UK are to be abandoned, the Home Office has confirmed. The visa bond scheme was announced by Home Secretary Theresa May in June and was set to be introduced this month. A Home Office spokesman confirmed a Sunday Times report that the policy would be scrapped. The decision is thought to have been taken after deputy prime minister Nick Clegg threatened to block it. The aim of the scheme was to reduce the number of people from some "high risk" countries - including India, Pakistan, and Nigeria - staying in the UK once their short-term visas had expired. Visitors would have paid a £3,000 cash bond before arrival in the UK - forfeited if they failed make the return trip. The idea was first suggested by Mr Clegg in March. The scrapping of this bond will certainly prove embarrassing for Home Secretary Theresa May - and Labour will be keen to label it a U-turn. The "visa bond" policy has been somewhat divisive in the coalition government, but was intended to be a flagship policy to show the government was getting tough on immigration. It's an issue it is keen to puff its chest out on in the face of the growing popularity of UKIP. But for now, the Home Office's immigration policy has hit a rough patch. Less than two weeks ago, a roll out of Home Office vans emblazoned with posters warning illegal immigrants to "go home or face arrest" was cancelled. The home secretary herself was driven to describe them as a "blunt instrument". But Business Secretary Vince Cable later claimed the deputy prime minister's plan, which had suggested a bond of £1,000, had been deliberately misinterpreted by some of their Conservative cabinet colleagues. "What Nick Clegg said was if somebody in the Indian sub-continent, for example, was turned down for a visa, they could, as an alternative, come up with a bond... But the way some of our colleagues interpreted was in a much more negative way, of saying that everybody who comes here should pay this very large bond," Mr Cable said in September. Mr Cable also criticised the level at which the bond was set and said that it had caused "outrage" in India. He said both he and Nick Clegg would be arguing in government for a "much more sensible and flexible" approach to the policy. The idea was also floated several times by the previous Labour government but never implemented. The announcement comes two weeks after a roll out of Home Office vans with posters warning illegal immigrants to "go home or face arrest" was cancelled. Mrs May told MPs she accepted they had "not been a good idea" and were too much of a "blunt instrument" http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-24793092 |

Don't knock it until you try it. Fact is that at the end of the day, FIFA is better than PES. The skills, range of passing, ways of scoring, custom celebrations, penalty kicks (this one especially sucks in pes) etc. I have seen some truly beautiful goals in FIFA, scores some too. On PES, its more about brute force, like I'm controlling the hulk and just want to smash. You'll see thunderous shots @ the speed of light and the keeper will calmly hold it as if its a teddy bear >>. Eff dat. I could go on all day with such but it'll serve no purpose. Both have their pros and cons + generous helping of glitches. |
If Fifa 14 is anything like 13, then it will be sweet although I've noticed that each year things get harder in Fifa, finesse goals especially. Used to easily score them from around the halfway line in 11 (my best fifa game ever), outside the 18 yard box in 12 but got really hard scoring them even in the 18 yard box in 13. Easiest way to score in 13 is with an aerial through pass timed properly. Thing about Fifa is we always hate it the first few weeks we play the latest one, but after some time we adjust and get used to it. Haven't played pes for some years (loved pro 6 tho, adriano ftw) but played pes13 a few months back and it was actually quite good. Much more engaging and technical with formations and player movements playing a huge role. Sad to hear pes14 is a step back. I don't get all the hate around these games. If you like fifa, good for you. If pes is your cup of tea, drink up. No need to bash the other game. Was originally a fifa fanatic on my original xbox, later switched to pes around 6, then back to fifa in 09. |
This is the funniest thread I've ever read here. Couldn't stop laughing and my neighbours started giving me strange looks. The food part is so funny but I really can't imagine anyone eating swallow in the cinema. As for toasting chicks, yeah, small girls these days look so matured and developed. Only God will help us. |
Haters will always hate. If Arsenal don't sign any players, problem. If they sign players, problem. If they lose, problem. If they win, problem. Even if they fart, problem. (Although, I can understand with this) #iRemainAGunner |
My biggest takeaway from this thread isn't an idea of how poor our download speeds are. On the contrary, that is well known state of affairs. Rather, it is the terrible and quite frankly, atrocious ping. The average is see here is 200ms which is useless for things like online gaming. We need nationwide wired isp preferably based on fiber. That's d only way we can progress connectivity-wise.

black_beau: UBA is worse than GTB. Besides, are you just noticing this now? Its been in practice for a long time. They only add interest on current account not savingsLet nobody deceive you. Interest on which current account? I believe charges are even higher on the current account. Regretting why I even opened it. |
I'm proudly 10 inches long.... .... ....Oooooh, height you meant, 6'1" with broad shoulders and rippling abs. God's gift to humanity. I love myself. |
About $380. Purchased plenty of items (clothes and accessories) off quiksilver.com using a GTB dollar account and the orders all went through and were charged, only for the orders to be cancelled about an hour later. Rang them and was told that they don't accept international payment and they hadn't actually charged me for the items, they just placed a hold on it which would clear after some days at most. This was 3 years ago. My bank claimed they charged me while they insist that only a hold was placed and I'm actually inclined to believe them coz' the people serving me in the bank all looked shady and GTB has a bad reputation with respect to online business. Learnt my lesson, so now whenever I shop online I do my research regarding what payment the site accepts (most manufacturer sites only accept US based credit cards) before I even think about purchasing from them. Amazon is the best in this, they even accept naira atm credit cards (mastercard or visa). |
And before that A Clash of Kings came out in 2000!!! Good Lord!! |
Hmmmm! #Gun Jack - Had some really crazy weaponry and acrobatic moves #King - Had this progressive breaking move that could go on till u were dead (if u knew how to do it properly) #Yoshimitsu - King of the cheats especially that re-generating health + his sidestep was spinning #Law (Forest/Martial) - just loved his moves #Dr. B (Buskonovich) - When unlocked is a terror, lies on d ground and attacks from there. All Tekken characters have one cheat or the other especially Paul. Ah! Fond memories. |
25omega: The hardest boss wasn't even the final bossOn the original xbox? Murai? The guy with the nunchaku? Haba!! Come on! He wasn't that difficult. It was just a matter of timing the pattern of his attacks and counter attacking, although he knew how to block very well. Ninja gaiden was/is a difficult game and the bosses progressively got harder from there. Murai wasn't difficult for me. Mine was (I think) the 3rd boss in Genma Onimusha but that was because I didn't know how 2 block. After giving up on Onimusha and playing Ninja Gaiden which taught me that I MUST block, I went back and completed Onimusha easily. The helicopter boss in Ninja Gaiden was tough and one particular timed challenge in Jet Set Radio Future. |
4llerbuntu: having read the book. i cannot bring myself to watch the tv series. i saw some episodes of season 1 and i couldnt stand the let down....My GoT interaction goes like this: Watched season 1------Read all available books(1-5)----------Watched season 1 again--------Watched episodes 1 & 2 of Season 2-------Gave up watching and I'm patiently waiting for d next book. I'm my opinion, season 1 really follows the book almost word for word but from season 2, I started seeing deviations which turned me off. But you should be able to comfortably watch season 1. Might force myself to watch season 2 due to extreme boredom. |
Ok. Thank you. Unfortunately, I'm not in Lagos. Do Afri Prudential Registrars have branches across the country? I believe I have most of the dividend warrants and extra share certificates. Do I just walk into any UBA branch with them and get paid? |
I bought their shares during the initial public offering and since then I haven't cashed any of the dividends I've received. Is it possible to cash dividends as far back as 2007/2008? If so, how do I do that? Thanks all. |
Let me just leave this here. Spartacus has nothing on this. Great Houses of Westeros. Abode. Sigil. Words. House Arryn - The Eyrie / The Vale - Moon and falcon, white upon a sky blue field - "As high as honour" House Baratheon ( Youngest of the Great Houses) - Storm's End - Crowned stag, black on a golden field -" Ours is the fury" House Greyjoy - Pyke - Golden kraken upon a black field -" We do not sow" House Lannister - Casterly Rock - Golden lion upon a crimson field - "Hear me Roar" House Martell - Sunspear - Red sun pierced by a golden spear - "Unbowed, unbent, unbroken" House Stark - Winterfell - Grey direwolf on an ice white field - "Winter is coming" House Targaryen (Oldest of the Great Houses) - Dragonstone - Three headed dragon, red on black [the three heads representing Aegon the conqueror and his 2 sisters (and wives)]. - "Fire and blood" House Tully - Riverrun - A leaping trout, silver on a field of rippling blue and red - "Family, Duty, Honor" House Tyrell - Highgarden -Golden rose ona green grass field - "Growing strong" These are just the Great Houses, 9 of them, meanwhile there are hundreds of minor and lesser houses like the House Frey etc. The level of intricacy and detail in Game of thrones is probably only exceeded by books/movies like Lord of the Rings. The genealogy of each house is provided in detail. Spartacus on the other hand...........................? |

Are you shitting me? There is no way in the 7 kingdoms that you seriously believe Spartacus is better than Game of Thrones. Westeros is the creation from some one's mind while the arena is real history. No comparison there. Look at all the fantasy fiction out there: Lord of the Rings (+ the hobbit), Harry Potter etc. They are all epic. Spartacus, while good, is mostly blood and gore, building on from the success of 300. |
Buy this and @ the end of the day it won't even fit you. A #5000 shirt might look far better on you. SMH |
Gorimakpa: Sorry in case it has been already addressed earlier in this thread, but please, what is the difference between somonth and comonth? I subscribed for comonth for N1400, while I hear somonth is N1200. What is the difference in these two plans, or is it just to dash glo extra 200, and God knows i hate dashing any netweork any 1 kobo.Somonth is the social blackberry package that has only chat services like bbm, aim, gtalk, yahoo messenger + email, no browsing (I think) while the comonth has all the chat apps + browsing. |
I don't know why some people take criticism of celebrities personal. No one is hating on them. Yes, artists these days take elements and inspiration from other artists. The problem starts when you have a particular person mixing and matching elements from several artists to make their songs. I personally like the song, copied or not (who REALLY cares coz at the end of the day, they are making their money) but my 1st reaction to the video was that the dance was copied from Natasha's Sidekick. TL:DR P-Square copy a lot. |
Who are all these people just either staring at or walking past the cars? Dear Lord!! I would have slobbered all over those cars, licking them from spoiler to bonnet, sideskirt to roof. I love cars. |
Glo all d way. |
