Is there a way to set the charging parameters so that the system stops drawing power from the grid once the battery is fully charged?
You can set the inverter priority to sbu: Solar > battery > utility, in that order.

For Everyone on Solar/Inverter: The Electrician Who Found the Fault Nobody Else Would

Most of us on this thread have spent good money on inverters, batteries and panels. But here is the hard truth: a solar or inverter setup is only as safe and as efficient as the wiring and earthing behind it. A perfect inverter on a bad installation will still frustrate you, waste your load, and in the worst case, shock somebody.

I am posting this because I found a man in Abuja who actually understands that, and I am staking my reputation on him.

First, who he is

His name is Daniel. He is Trade Test 1, 2 and 3 certified, and NABTEB certified. He is a qualified tradesman, not a "boy who learned small wiring."

What he can do:

Electrical drawings and design
Full house and office wiring (done to code, not to convenience)
Fault tracing and troubleshooting (this is where most installers run away)
Thunder arrestor / lightning arrestor installation
Earthing installation and remediation

If it is electricity related, and that includes the mains side of your solar setup, he is your man.

Why the solar crowd should care

Here is exactly the kind of problem he solved for me, and I suspect some of you are quietly living with something similar.

Whenever mains power tripped, my inverter would keep ramping up and running at about 50 percent load for no reason I could explain. On top of that, whoever originally wired the house had used a single colour of wire for everything, live, neutral and earth, which is a violation of basic standards and a nightmare to diagnose.

I did the obvious first step and installed a brand new earth rod and earthing connections, assuming the old earth was the culprit. It was not, at least not the way I thought.

Then I noticed something frightening: the fridge, freezer, microwave and cooker were all shocking to the touch. But only when power came from the mains. On inverter power, zero shock. That clue turned out to be everything.

When I told him, he did not give excuses. He said, "Let me come and confirm." He tested the live, neutral and earth at the affected outlet, then went to the distribution board and tested the common earth, common neutral and common live. Every single one lit up on the tester, which should never happen.

His first instinct was to check every outlet in the house, tedious as that would be. Then he stopped and said, "There is a better way." He decided to isolate the fault at the DB level instead. We separated each earth connection one by one and tested, until the earth stopped lighting up. That pinned the fault to one circuit: an AC switch and a looped wall socket in the guest room.

Here is the part that impressed me. He climbed into the ceiling and asked me to call out from the ground which room he was standing over. I said the guest room. He traced the wires to the exact wall, came down, went straight to that socket, opened it, and there it was. Because the house was wired in one colour, whoever did the original job had bridged the live to the earth without knowing it. That is why testing live, neutral and earth all gave the same reading, and that is why my appliances were live to the touch.

Once he fixed it, I switched the breaker between the AC input and the inverter back on, and the mysterious ramp-up in consumption was gone. Problem solved, completely. My inverter finally behaves the way it should.

Why this matters for your setup

That single bridged wire could have killed someone, and it was quietly stressing my inverter every day. If your system is behaving strangely, tripping, ramping up, appliances tingling to the touch, the problem is very often not the inverter itself. It is the wiring and earthing feeding it.

Daniel is the kind of person who will actually trace it instead of telling you to buy a bigger inverter.

He told me plainly that most electricians will happily show up for a new wiring job, but the moment you say "I have a maintenance and troubleshooting issue," they vanish and give every excuse in the book. He does not.

My appeal to you

Someone this good does not deserve to be sitting without work. Please give him jobs and support him. He is Abuja based.

This is not a sponsored post. I am simply an over-satisfied client who owes him one.

And if he ever gives you any issue at all, come back to this thread and raise it with me directly, and I will intervene.

Ayatullah:
I do wonder too why the cross will be a symb0l to honour Jesus Christ! It makes no sense. I am sure those no nonsense Libya guys LOVE JESUS, THE SON OF MARY SO DEARLY.

The Jews who some Nigeria Christians love so dearly are also being beaten up and spit on by the Jews.
So that makes this right? Not sure I understand your point on this thread about Libyan Muslims beating a Christian.

YCee really hit the nail on the head.

NOETHNICITY:
I have a question for you since you are Christian. What offense did the Palestinian Christians of Taybeh(the last remaining All-Christian village) in the West Bank commit that they are being daily terrorized by Jewish settlers backed by the IDF? Christians are being expelled at the moment. Guess what, you ignorant naive Christian of Nigeria seem to believe that Palestinian Muslims are the problem.

Guess what, the eyes of the people of the world are open to the truth now. The world now knows who the terrorists are. For the first time in history, support for Israel among Americans dropped to 35%. The blood sucking satanic cult of isreal is known for its evil.
A lot of people fail to see that Nigerian Christians empathize with Israel because of our reality. There appears to be a systematic substitution of non-muslims from their ancestral homes in the country and no one cares. The use of terms such as farmer-herder crisis and bandits only serves to divert attention from the underlying objective/result and mask the varying issues plaguing Nigeria. For a fiscally challenged country that has to borrow to meet its budgetary commitments, spending billions on changing the narrative in the USA is a red flag while the Palestinian cause is a rallying cry for the ummah worldwide sight unseen.

Palestine had the option of peace but chose conflict even before the founding of Israel. They rejected the 2-state solution when Israel agreed. The current borders were won in battle following several attempts by coalitions of surrounding nations to eradicate Israel which not only failed but backfired spectacularly. Iran is the only remaining nation that has decided to die on that mountain.

What happened in Nagorno-Karabak between Azerbaijan and Armenia? Are the natives of that land still there today? Who replaced them? Who said a word and took action? Quietly, Christians have dwindled in Lebanon up to the point that Hezbollah does not care what the government commits to. They just do whatever they like. This is what they would like to replicate in Nigeria but unfortunately, we are too loud.

No amount of gaslighting will work when we clearly see that you do not have our back either. Unlike you, we do not have disdain for our parent religion (religions in your case).

You realise the Bible is a religious book and not a geographical one. It has no jurisdiction or authority in land issues.

A book written from a Jewish point of view has no business being referenced when it comes to international dispute.
I just summarized the post. Its either the bible is right or the post is wrong and there is a false equivalence. Both can not be true at the same time, religious/geographical text or not.

Also, a correction - Christian not Jewish point of view. I can't count the number of threads and posts here from Palestinian cheerleaders telling us how Israel hates Christians etc. They are not the same.

Several medical doctors came out to say that most of the children who were killed were shot in the head (headshot) with a sniper, indicating that the killing was Intentional. Surprising? Nahhhh!

We already knew before the UN inquiry or whistleblowing from doctors that the killing of children was indeed intentional because of this statement by Netanyahu on October 28 2023...

You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible - Netanyahu.

Read 1 Samuel 15:3 to see what the ancient nation of Israel did to the amalekites. It will make you understand that killing children (including infants) is like taking a walk in the park for Israel.

By the way, according to nairaland highly intelligent 5.0 cgpa first class Harvard trained professors of geopolitics, this news report proves that Reuters and the U.N are nothing but liars and terrorist sympathizers.
It’s interesting for you to admit that the Isreal of today is the Isreal of the bible. Therefore, the Palestinians have no claim to the land. C.E.T.

Interesting that you mention he is Acunon because the OPs story mirrors my experience with him.

Got a broken TV waybilled to me. He insisted that we must share the cost of fixing it. To avoid total loss, I agreed. He sent me back the TV without the stand. Bros, if you want a New base write me and lets stop these.
You sold me a TV and failed to include the base which I highlighted to you. After you said it’s lost, I still asked how to get the base and you repeated that it’s lost. Meaning that you are not interested in replacing it. I’m sure you want me to buy the a “new” one right? I should have begged you to sell me another base.

A lost base, since how many years ago. A Tv was sent with the base and i got it, replaced screen and gave it back. Why bringing a dead case here? You just woke up and started asking me about a base that has gotten lost for years. Why not Ask me about a solution to the lost base than bringing this case here?

It seems you had a bad day today, please don't make that mistake of coming here to vent you anger here sir.Good night!
It's a dead case to you because you are not affected and do not care but for me who spent money to purchase an item and did not receive the complete item I paid for, why will it be dead?

You seem to forget that even the screen replacement took a lawyer's intervention and I still paid. You were not ready to take responsibility for your actions. Same as with the base. You could have responded to my message and we'd have long settled this but you chose to ignore me.

PoliticsRe: What Do You Know About Igede Tribe In Benue State? by Samunosuke(m): 8:30am On Nov 28, 2021
This thread perfectly summarizes everything wrong within a microcosm in Nigeria and these issues are magnified on the national stage. If there exists this much hatred and animosity within 1 state, how much more 36? Every single tribe in Nigeria is home to large swaths of individuals that display the negative traits complained about on this thread about Igede but Nigerians with their quick to judge mentality have already labeled every member of the tribe based on minimal interaction.

Even if Nigeria is split into 36 countries there will never be progress as the problem isn’t who has power but rather the lack of an innate progressive mindset. Why should someone’s racial identity be determined by a third party? Even if Igede and Idoma combine politically and every single eligible voter supports a consensus candidate, Tiv will still win elections based on their overwhelming numbers. So I have to ask why all the noise?

Looking at Yala that is 90% similar to Idoma (Igede is at most 40%), Idoma call Yala people “Yala-achi” meaning bush Yala and you expect such people to associate and want to be with you? Igede are generally looked down upon in the state by both major tribes so any complaint of marginalization by them is the same as they give out. I don’t blame Fulani/Hausa/Arewa and the political elite who cling to power after all, they have the numbers (fudged or not) to legitimize their claim.

TLDR: Benue is the worst and most backward state in this country.

Relax..it's a dead on arrival agenda...

Their false LGBTQ research claiming men and women are equal and that gender isn't nature but only a social contruct is what's driving their female dominating agenda.

Men will be men
Women will eventually be women...

They can't force equality of outcomes.. it's a lost cause...
That’s the worst part imho. Laying back and believing it’s doa will further lead us down this rabbit hole. An example: Most organizations (mine included) don’t have cessation clauses to their equality policies which means they never expect to achieve it and will continue ad infinitum. No one has said we will stop once we achieve x,y and z, so why stop?

What is pandered online and what happens in reality are very much at odds with each other. Switching the discourse to equity allows them to continue pushing equal outcomes knowing that their initial push for equal opportunities has been achieved.

Goal posts will always move.
FamilyRe: Marginalisation: Women Playing The Victim Cards by Samunosuke(m): 3:02pm On Oct 14, 2021
Gender equality/equity or whatever term is currently used has been hijacked by male haters to achieve their objective of subjugating men. If we are talking about personal lives then there are certain cultural realities that we have to acknowledge. My major problem with the movement is its application in the profession world. No man is given an advantage while growing up. We rather have it rougher but when we are able to surmount all of that and compete professionally, the odds are firmly stacked against us due to perceived marginalization from females. No organization would normally choose a less performing male over another except there are irregularities but for female it’s normal and even expected these days.

I could go on and on but I’ve come to accept that the world is headed for the edge if we continue like this. If I suffer to build an empire tomorrow through hard work I’d be expected to hire 50-50 regardless of if some are not up to my standards just because.

I blame the men in high positions that have allowed this destructive narrative to continue unchecked for a long time. They’re all scared of losing their positions so they accept it and even further the movement.

God help us all!
