visaclick: Interesting that you mention he is Acunon because the OPs story mirrors my experience with him. Got a broken TV waybilled to me. He insisted that we must share the cost of fixing it. To avoid total loss, I agreed. He sent me back the TV without the stand. Asked him to send the stand and he tells me to pay for it. Like what sort of lowly scum does that Luckily, I wall mount at my place but wanted to upgrade from the 55 and give it to my mum but can’t because she doesn’t wall mount. Posted about it here https://www.nairaland.com/1792599/buy-plasma-lcd-led-televisions/496#113154364 Truth is that even if they aren’t all the same person, they share the same criminal mode of operation and it’s best to stay away. 7 Likes |

acunon: You sold me a TV and failed to include the base which I highlighted to you. After you said it’s lost, I still asked how to get the base and you repeated that it’s lost. Meaning that you are not interested in replacing it. I’m sure you want me to buy the a “new” one right? I should have begged you to sell me another base. 2 Likes

acunon: It's a dead case to you because you are not affected and do not care but for me who spent money to purchase an item and did not receive the complete item I paid for, why will it be dead? You seem to forget that even the screen replacement took a lawyer's intervention and I still paid. You were not ready to take responsibility for your actions. Same as with the base. You could have responded to my message and we'd have long settled this but you chose to ignore me. |

acunon: I believe this is the TV you sold incomplete to me without the stand and nonchalantly told me it's lost with no recourse. After a horrendous buying experience receiving a cracked TV and then paying for the repairs, I still never got what I paid for. You are not a good person! 1 Like

Politics / Re: What Do You Know About Igede Tribe In Benue State? by Samunosuke(m): 8:30am On Nov 28, 2021 |
This thread perfectly summarizes everything wrong within a microcosm in Nigeria and these issues are magnified on the national stage. If there exists this much hatred and animosity within 1 state, how much more 36? Every single tribe in Nigeria is home to large swaths of individuals that display the negative traits complained about on this thread about Igede but Nigerians with their quick to judge mentality have already labeled every member of the tribe based on minimal interaction. Even if Nigeria is split into 36 countries there will never be progress as the problem isn’t who has power but rather the lack of an innate progressive mindset. Why should someone’s racial identity be determined by a third party? Even if Igede and Idoma combine politically and every single eligible voter supports a consensus candidate, Tiv will still win elections based on their overwhelming numbers. So I have to ask why all the noise? Looking at Yala that is 90% similar to Idoma (Igede is at most 40%), Idoma call Yala people “Yala-achi” meaning bush Yala and you expect such people to associate and want to be with you? Igede are generally looked down upon in the state by both major tribes so any complaint of marginalization by them is the same as they give out. I don’t blame Fulani/Hausa/Arewa and the political elite who cling to power after all, they have the numbers (fudged or not) to legitimize their claim. TLDR: Benue is the worst and most backward state in this country. 1 Like |

advanceDNA: That’s the worst part imho. Laying back and believing it’s doa will further lead us down this rabbit hole. An example: Most organizations (mine included) don’t have cessation clauses to their equality policies which means they never expect to achieve it and will continue ad infinitum. No one has said we will stop once we achieve x,y and z, so why stop? What is pandered online and what happens in reality are very much at odds with each other. Switching the discourse to equity allows them to continue pushing equal outcomes knowing that their initial push for equal opportunities has been achieved. Goal posts will always move. 1 Like |

Gender equality/equity or whatever term is currently used has been hijacked by male haters to achieve their objective of subjugating men. If we are talking about personal lives then there are certain cultural realities that we have to acknowledge. My major problem with the movement is its application in the profession world. No man is given an advantage while growing up. We rather have it rougher but when we are able to surmount all of that and compete professionally, the odds are firmly stacked against us due to perceived marginalization from females. No organization would normally choose a less performing male over another except there are irregularities but for female it’s normal and even expected these days. I could go on and on but I’ve come to accept that the world is headed for the edge if we continue like this. If I suffer to build an empire tomorrow through hard work I’d be expected to hire 50-50 regardless of if some are not up to my standards just because. I blame the men in high positions that have allowed this destructive narrative to continue unchecked for a long time. They’re all scared of losing their positions so they accept it and even further the movement. God help us all! 1 Like |

I really do not understand people. If I am able to get the same utility and durability out of a cheaper item, I should be happy as a consumer and not the other way around. Hello all. I need help with my Samsung UE55HU7200 Curved 4K TV which recently auto-updated to the latest software version. It continued working well for a few days then started boot-looping (restarting) after every 20 seconds and showing the Smart TV logo only. I also hear a click from the power board when it goes off. While on, it does not respond to input from the remote or the button at the back. I've visited the technicians around me and they recommended a new board but being a little IT savvy I followed some instructions online to reset the eeprom. After opening it up and shorting the SDA and VCC pins, the TV remains on indefinitely but does not respond. Upon power off, it reverts to its 20 second boot-loop. There might be some other issue asides the eeprom but i'm at a loss to what to check next. I also disconnected the wifi card (and bluetooth too) as some others had luck doing that due to excess power draw by those components but mine had no effect. Any tips? |

MrBrownJay1: You listed celebrities who obviously make a lot more than the average man and will find it difficult if they narrow their search for a partner to those who earn about the same or more than they do. Women do not like "dating down". They only do it out of necessity or "love" and the mainstream media also actively discourages them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9_cJ99Uyk4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOM8oYqG-4c&list=PLHzUxtHfOop0f6YQqVa9DwyinTVuaT99a&index=22 http://upscalemagazine.com/successful-women-should-stop-dating-down/ https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/nov/10/dating-gap-hook-up-culture-female-graduates The second link I shared has a celebrity (Chili from TLC who wrote "Scrubs" saying if she has to contribute to a vacation, she has to be going with her girls. Her man will have to sponsor the trip by himself. Just imagine what a wealthy women is saying in public yet we have gender equality (or is it equity, it's difficult keeping up) policies in almost all developed and developing nations with quotas in favor of women. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: Fuel Price Hike: Depot Owners, Marketers Rake In N4.2bn Extra Profit In 3 Days by Samunosuke(m): 11:48am On Sep 06, 2020 |
SweetJoystick: What kind of statement is this? Are you speaking from a different planet or what? When the price was reduced, it took over 3 weeks for them to reflect the new price. Their mantra then was “old stock”. I was badgering the petrol stations around me daily for the new price after I read the news online. The opposite occurred every increase - I get to the station and discover a new price almost before it hits the news. No more “old stock”. I will continue to proclaim that the problem with Nigeria is Nigerians. Our leaders aren’t picked out of a different dimension and rise to power by their solitary efforts. We are all culpable either actively or passively. |

I hope that they continue finding new ways of taxing us. Why? Firstly, so that those who always retort that those leaving to better countries pay a lot in tax will realize why people would decide to do that. At the end of the day, they see the benefit of the taxes in infrastructure, healthcare systems, security, insurance and all the tenets of a functioning society. When we start paying comparable taxes and still do not have the basics like good roads and stable electricity, I hope those people start using the little intelligence they have to realize the folly of their words. Secondly, the average Nigerian is corrupt and narcissistic. We only think about enriching ourselves and are willing to go to any length to protect what we cherish. When corrupt politicians steal the nation's wealth we don't react not because we can't but because we feel it does not affect us personally in any way. The nation is a vague, transient and nebulous concept in our mind which seems far away. Such direct taxes that are visible and clear to see will erode our laid back attitudes and make us pay more attention to the policies politicians propose and eventually hold them accountable to their promises. I recently read about the French revolution (la guillotine baby) and the resonant effect it had on other nations (itself being an effect of the American revolution). Baby steps but we will get there eventually. |
