I think this is a foolish thing to do. You only have your wedding once in a lifetime and it is only proper you treat your partner to the best of that day. The bride looks unhappy, like she was either forced into marrying the man or that they 'ruined' her day. |
victorazy:Perhaps, perhaps not. You can only tell if you see the name on one of the books, and possibly an address of the publisher. Either way, the governor is in trouble. |
darkckUSA:You and I both know that the coup was not what a typical coup would be like. It was clearly one-sided and I believe the North would not have had any issue if Nzeogwu had taken out his own people in government at the time. While the pogrom was clearly insensitive, the coup plotters did not stop with the coup, brandishing images of Northerners who were killed and how, coupled with the Igbos presumed lack of humility among other things birthed the coup which the Igbos returned by killing thousands of Hausas, Tiv and other Northern Tribes, forcing a mass exodus of Northerners from the Eastern Region. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966_anti-Igbo_pogrom The pogrom was not as one-sided as people imagined. |
Two things; either the mistake came from the graphics designer or the person who instructed the graphics designer on what to write. I see no reason why the governor should be blamed here. |
steppins:So you tactically dodged the blame on Awolowo this time and also failed to blame Ojukwu for the many deaths of his own. How interesting! Agitation is not the problem here. People have the right to association and the call for Biafra is not the problem here. I'm sure you have been hearing people blame the Yorubas, particularly Awolowo for the 'genocide' on Igbos while failing to dissect the event putting objectivity at the fore. Perhaps, the Igbos would have been blessed with a more sensible, diplomatic and people concerned leader who would have been patient for the sake of his people, rather than drum the beats of war without a plan. Unfortunately, chances of that would have been slim because an average Igbo man describes himself as either a Lion or an Elephant. Kanu has shown that he is a very horrible student of history and I pray we would not experience another highlight. |
darkckUSA:There was no such thing as tribal cleansing during the war. Ojukwu settled for war because he believed he was prepared. It was a war for crying out loud and not some charity organization where one party would feed the other with junks and laugh with them. Ojukwu should have accounted for the souls that were lost. The problem with the black man is that he does not understand what it means to be responsible. Ojukwu was grossly irresponsible and didn't value the lives of his people. He should have surrendered the moment his supply route was cut but no, he continued fighting a war he had lost. The so called foreign observers did not even step in until starvation had gotten to a whole new level. And sadly, rather than come out to surrender like a man, he fled disguising as a woman, interpreting the struggles of those he led on to mean nothing. The war could have been avoided but no, Ojukwu was a strong headed dreamer whose dream was to sacrifice his very own just so he could control oil. |
TheLordIsGr8:J.P. Clarke. The poem was on my mind while looking through the images. |
adeswagsdmj:Bragging is one thing, showing off your wealth on social media is another. Just before you finger the whites, ask yourself if you have ever seen Ronaldo flash huge sums of money before. The best you would see him do is upload pictures of himself and probably his girlfriend during vacations. The only thing he flaunts night and day are his specially designed boots and we all know those are purely marketing tactics. Every player in the world does so at some point. And as much as I hate the Kardashians and Amber Rose, we must come to terms that they are almost all models who found their way by chance while the latter set out as a stripper. Truth is, you would be forced to come to terms with Ronaldo not being a showman when you check out Mayweather's page on Instagram. While the problem is not totally peculiar to blacks, we are second to none in this regard and it is disturbing. |
LazyYorubas:So she is causing problems for 'us'. Minions! ![]() I love the fact that there is no small chest beater. When you want to beat your chest, you beat it big. So you mean THE WHOLE SOUTH SOUTH was on lock down today when Ebonyi was moving freely? Donchips:I'll enlighten you here. No other tribe practices ethnic chauvinism as much as the Igbos do. Sadly but true, and this is where the rants of pure breed Igbo and half blood/corrupted blooded Igbo come into play. Igbos (on a larger scale) are not good at making friends and when they do, then certain things are at stake. If indeed you were trying to make your children safe from extremism, restructuring would be your song and not secession. As much as I know today, baby factory cartels are fast Springing up in Enugu here more than ever. Does it make your children safer than what Boko Haram would do? The answer is no because the whole thing points to the child's life being ruined in the end. I was thinking you could reason a bit until you mentioned the Niger Delta. All we would ask for is restructuring true federalism. You guys on the other hand want to pull out. Sadly, most of keep seeing Biafra as a Noah's Ark whereby you all would get in and the perfect life would begin. Leave the Niger Delta out of your madness. We do wish to be saved if Biafra is your only avenue to salvation. And by the way, this is no Igbophobia. There are several Igbos out there who like me think Biafra is nothing but madness, coupled with delusion. Here is a very big secret, the Igbos would be held against their wish for donkey years so long the Yorubas are not planning or thinking of seceding. They are the string that binds the country. So until the Yorubas are ready, trust me, you could grab every available land and wait, you guys are leaving for nowhere. |
megareal:This had long been established. Biafra is an ideology by an Igbo man, for the the Igbos. The 'love and fellowship' as it stands, is sinister. |
igwebuike01:My recommendation to you is that you mind what you post. The emboldened could see someone from Rivers on here go from calm to something else. |
Amberon: |
Amberon:My dear, you just have to wonder who the unity beggar is in reality. The best part is, every true son and daughter of Urhoboland listens to the UPU, as opposed to how the Ohaneze Ndigbo is treated with disdain and sheer disrespect by its youths. There is no way a referendum would be conducted on our land because we are not mad. We are more bent on restructuring than in breaking away. If there are two or three Urhobos who fancy Biafra, they would either live in silence with it or relocate to live their fantasies. These are not just unity beggars but forceful unity beggars. You can't just help but laugh at how they call for referendum on other people's turf. |
DontForceUnity:If you were wise enough, you would understand that all I wrote up there is nothing but a thoughtful piece directed at you. I have never been to Akwa Ibom, but I have a couple of friends there. The same resistance you faced with Urhobos on here is what is about to happen with people from Akwa Ibom. You lack tact and you clearly don't have the ability to convince people to join your cause other than activate emotion and cuss like raving lunatics. The desperation on the part of so-called Biafrans here have come to make me believe that they don't have the balls to Secede alone. It's fast becoming tiring seeing you guys brand everyone who resist you as Afonja or a Yoruba Muslim (whatever that means). And just you know, a referendum is only tweaked or activated on a people when the majority say yes, mostly. A referendum is not census and you just have to understand that. That you want almost every part of the South South to join your headless campaign does not mean a referendum would be conducted in these areas. The way it works is very simple; 1. Before a referendum can be held a Bill must be passed by both houses of parliament or passed twice in either the House of Representatives or the Senate. This means that IF at all a referendum would be in place today, it would directly fall into the areas calling for secession and not where you want to 'point and kill' like a catfish in a pepper soup joint. 2. A referendum must be held no sooner than two months and no later than six months after the Bill is passed. In the four weeks after the Bill is passed, the ‘yes’ case is prepared by members and senators who voted for the proposed changes. The ‘no’ case is prepared by those members and senators who voted against the proposed changes. 3. For minority areas willing to join Biafra, IF at all there would be, their representatives in the chambers would make it known so that they can be included or otherwise. Know that representatives don't act in isolation. 4. A referendum does not necessarily mean immediately. EVEN IF one is conducted today, it could take another five years to see it materialize. Catalans had a referendum two years ago or so and majority of her citizens voted to break away from Spain. Today, Spain is talking about a second referendum and possibly a third. Brexit is almost a year now and no one seems to be saying a thing. 5. The Igbos are not united to fight for a referendum, which in turn would make it difficult to call for, all thanks to your politicians who are hell bent on keeping their seats in the HoR and in the Senate. They know calling for a referendum would put them out of business should Biafra becomes a work-in-view. My recommendation would be that you focus on getting a referendum for your five states before másturbating violently over 'minority tribes' in the South South. Save yourselves before thinking about saving others. |
DocHMD:I am always stunned at the fact that many of you believe you can speak for others. You guys are clearly disrespectful and rude in your approach at wooing others. You lack tact and diplomacy, and have been blinded into believing that everyone who speaks against you must be a Yoruba fellow. The sad truth is, you brand everyone Afonja while the minority kick against you. When they do, you turn and say you don't recognize them, whereas, you're the first to map them as being a part of your quest. Almost everyone in Niger Delta have come to believe that a hand of love or fellowship from the Igbos is sinister as oil must be their motive. Funny. A friend residing in Uyo Itam local government in Akwa Ibom told me earlier today that everyone went about their daily activity with the exception of some Igbo traders, but then, those who went about their activities must be Yorubas or Afonjas, according to you. You just have to understand that the sit at home order would be more effective in Igbo lands, particularly the five Eastern states than other regions and lands. It would be stùpid to assume or believe others would key into your quest just like that. |
hammer6:How come I'm just seeing this? This is so dumb! So you really don't know what a DELTA is? Like seriously? I can do nothing but shake my head. It is obvious most of you are not in any way sound intellectually and the saddest part is that you readily brandish that ignorance like it is some kind to be proud of. |
Yyeske:What brand of stupid did you smoke before putting down the emboldened? Who in his or her right frame of mind would compare the Aniomas to Urhobos, number-wise? |
The sit-at-home today is pretty serious but there are other angles to it. Vehicles are a bit limited as opposed to what it used to be like on the roads. The sad part is that the so-called day set aside for honouring the deads aka 'heroes' has no significance as the meaning is lost to agitators. I saw a couple of folks this morning downing beers as their own way of 'honouring' their fallen and it leaves you wondering if indeed the day is set out to remember or have a festive holiday. Truth is, the stay at home is impressive all thanks to fear. Fear of attack on innocent, non-compliant folks and fear of attack by military personnel. Either way, people have become wiser, which is laudable. To the truth now, the stay at home doesn't really make sense since people would end up losing in the end. Expected revenues for today is lost as it stands, and most importantly, for the five Eastern states. Eventually, everyone would pick their lives from where they left it and resume to their places of work tomorrow. |
Omooba77:Chelsea fans are noise makers. The club is one of the very few with less football quality and much noise. ![]() |
Suspect33:I'm telling you! Celebration is in full gear! Proudly Madridista ![]() Modified Factors that would determine tonight's match Juventus is no doubt a team to be feared. Regarded as Atletico Madrid version 2.0, the Old Lady are equipped in every department, particularly their backline and the legend between the goal posts, Buffon. However, there are several determinants that would dictate the eventual winner of this year's tournament. 1. The Buffon Factor: The Italian has conceded the least in the tournament and he would not be at his as always to keep Madrid at bay. And win his first Champions League trophy in his sight, motivation can't come in a better package. 2. The Marcelo Rampage: Juventus must pocket Marcelo if they intend winning tonight. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. The slippery defender is almost difficult to tame. A free Marcelo always translates into a free scoring Ronaldo and Juventus must avoid that at all cost. 3. Toni Kroos and Modric Team up: Juventus' pride is in her defence and they must ensure their midfield security is beefed up tonight as they must prevent Kroos and Modric from roaming in the midfield. Should this happen, Real would dictate the match with enough possession and that would mean more trouble for Juventus as they would mentally box themselves into blocking outside 18 shots at intervals. 4. The greatest defence in world football: Conceding just 3 goals in 12 matches is not only incredible but phenomenal. Real would no doubt have to worry about that. An excessively disciplined Old Lady would be seeking to draw the first blood before pulling the Great Wall of China stunt just as they did at the Nou Camp. With over 60 games of goal scoring record, Real would in no doubt score tonight and they would need a motivated Ronaldo to decide a whole lot tonight. While it is not clear on who starts between Cardiff born Gareth Bale and the world's best bench, Isco, Marcelo, Kroos and Modric must be tamed. I don't see Ramos doing his signature tonight except the Serie A are caught unawares. All the same, Real for the dozen. |
vayne:We have the oil you want to die for. How about that? |
GodIsBiafran:I guess life screwed you so much to come to terms with Yorubas being the only group in Nigeria other than Igbos. You, my friend, are a cretin. A huge one. |
GodIsBiafran:Serve your god some okpa for this great insight. The problem with the bulk of you lot is that you have no regards and respect for others. Not like I'm surprised to know this since you approach your parents with the sliding tackle. Ozighe. I am sure you are not referring to God because the god you worship clearly does not drop sense into your heads. |
Amberon:My dear, you don't need to tell anyone to think straight or otherwise. There is no difference between the males and their females when it comes to thought processes. |
GodIsBiafran:And he just had to use the word 'MIGHT'. Guess what, I am a staunch Yoruba Afonja from Ipetumodu. I expect that tag from hereon out. Fratermathy and Amberon are fellow Afonjas. I hope this makes you sleep peacefully now? |
EvilUnityBeggars:If this would make you sleep then I'll come to your level; I don't need to work with these companies to be fulfilled. An average Biafran's thought centers on oil, the same oil that killed over 2 million Igbos. That might be harsh but it's the truth. Besides why are you hell bent on oil wells in the Delta, what happened to the palm OIL in the South? Isn't that enough ![]() |
EvilUnityBeggars:I know most of you foot soldiers are blind, so I wouldn't mind helping you out. If the Niger Delta itself wasn't riddled with corrupt leadership, it would have been difficult for Northern powers to control the oil wells in their numbers. It is similar to why the South East leadership have been the greater cowards in the Biafran project. Unfortunately, I cannot show you we are free because it would mean I must acknowledge that we are in bondage, which we are not. I understand the Biafrian project won't be complete until the land grabbing tendencies materialize. You need the oil regions to fan your chest beating antics. Unfortunately, we don't share your dream. If you want the oils badly, declare a war and see what follows. |
januzaj:Ojukwu was not only foolish but mad. Unfortunately, an average agitator today thinks him a hero. He started the war, strategy took out his people and rather than surrender, he added to it by stacking his house with stored foods which was shared between himself and his generals; ran afterwards and pretended as if nothing happened. Rather than curse Ojukwu and his lineage, Awolowo has become their motivation. Another Ojukwu is in wait already and I pray their madness leads them to another bout. We'll be here to see. Crazy folks everywhere! |
EvilUnityBeggars:Corruption controls it. However, I'd like to know your reaction when Fulani Herdsmen sacked and killed several people in Awgu, Ezeagu and other parts of Enugu and Anambra. Tell me, did you fight back? |
RebelChip:There is just one slave in Nigeria today and that is the one who claims he wants to be free. If you don't, then by all means, take the idea of Urhobos from your discourses and thoughts. My friend, we don't know you as well. As it stands, we have no preference or soft spot for a particular people. The Isokos and Urhobos are only concerned with just one thing - and that is a call for restructuring, true federalism and resource control, just as the Yorubas. We are enemies to no one. For now, your agitation is only a joke since you are hell bent on seeking approval and reinforcement from others. |
RebelChip:I'm going to hold nothing back here! The Urhobos and Isokos you term as inconsequential far holds greater stakes in the Nigerian project, compared to the whole of the South East combined! And get it, there is nothing great about the five states you hold dear. I have been to every one of them and beyond and nothing, I mean nothing makes just one of them special! If you're wondering why no one takes you lot serious in Nigeria, I'd recommend you sit and do a self assessment. Other than peddling drugs and soiling the name of Nigeria abroad, the bulk of the Igbo Nation brings little or nothing to the table. My people don't do drugs and we don't run cartels of baby factory production houses. We are not hell bent on making money and we don't consider sacrificing someone in the family because everyone is poor! No! The inconsequentials you refer to today is one of the reasons Ojukwu led your people to their death several years ago. If your comment about Isokos and Urhobos being inconsequential is what would cause me to become a tribalist then I'm game. |
hammer6:Young man, get some education! While there is a huge variation between the Urhobo and Igbo language, there are certain words the two spell same way but pronounce slightly. Enu - Means up in Urhobo Obara - Means blood in Urhobo Biko - Means please in Urhobo Do - Means welcome or sorry So what is your problem again? |
