Not true. Urhobos have a funny way of blending or mixing English words with the Urhobo language, mostly when they are not with their kinsmen. The accent is so strong that you would think she's your everyday Urhobo woman.

And as for Özil. Agreed he's still Turkish but he's also German as he was born and raised there.

the fault is actually from our parents, you can hardly seen an itsekiri youth that can't speak there language, are we not in the same warri together? , in fact itsekiri always name there children with there itsekiri language but that can't be said with urhobo, uvwie is the worst, hardly do you see someone speaking it, only the elders but I can hear very well but can't speak the dialect.

this is wat development cause, almost all of urhobo land is fast becoming town, from warri to orerokpe to abraka to agharo to sapele to ughelle etc so they think the only way out is to master pidgin and forget about our root.

cc: fratermathy
You're very correct. A portion of the blame goes to the parents. I heard Uvwie is worse truly and you have just confirmed it. It's sad.

which Cristiano Ronaldo are you talking about? Stop talking nonsense, sir. And Khedira is not of Turkish descent. Even Özil is 3rd generation Turkish so 3 of his generation were in Germany b4 he was born so to call him Turkish is tosh
The same Cristiano Ronaldo. His parents moved from Brazil to a small town called Madeira due to hardship.

I even made a mistake with Khedira. He is Tunis, and not Turkish.

Biko, which one is 'third generation'? Till date, Ozil still familiarize himself with Turkey despite playing for Germany. I do hope you know that he had the option to either play for Germany or Turkey before he chose the former? Third generation báwohuh Ozil's father's name is Mustafa, so how on God's earth is he third generation bornhuh

Lol. Sadly, he is not alone. Many Urhobo youths barely understand the language. Speaking it is even a different thing entirely.

We are working hard to undo the damage done to us by colonialism and negative attitudes towards our language.
Warri as a meeting point for all Deltans have played a more destructive role in this regard. The annoying thing is seeing them give excuses like 'I was brought up in Warri and you know the only embraced thing is pidgin'.

It's a sorry case, particularly when the only thing such persons carry us nothing but just the name, and can't even dialogue in Urhobo for two minutes stretch before falling back to some other language.

How many Asians represent white people? name one prominent Asian representing Europe or America in anything?
Asians go to Europe and America to acquire knowledge and opportunities and go back home. But black people never think about home.
Of all continents, na the rigid, myopic Asia you see mention? I have given you several other examples. You can Google them out to find out.

LMAO! That Algeria is 'finished' does not mean the likes of Benzema and Zidane are useless. My point exactly is that most of these folks were naturalized all thanks to emigration.

Cristiano Ronaldo is Brazilian by origin but was naturalized a Portuguese.
David Olatokunbo Alaba is a Nigerian by Origin but he now plays for Austria and Bayern.
Ozil and Khedira are Turkish, yet they play for Germany.

The list is endless and it really has nothing to do with Nigeria or Africa.

Trans-Atlantic slavery is over but blacks are into deeper slavery of mentality. Representing white people in Olympics and prestigious sport is shameful.
If we have the right strategy and love our race, we can make it in a world stage.

Nigerian press and society are not helping the matter at all. We celebrate mediocrity like BB naija, tonto vs churchhill and forget about real National heroes.

where is Okagbare? where is that US based Anambra girl that represented us in rowing? nobody talk about her again until Olympics. Where is Chioma Ajunwa? where is James Peter's (aka Nigerian nightmare)

Chierika Ukogu shocked the world in Olympics. Represented Nigeria with her resources and nobody cares but mummu governors now sending private jet to carry BB naija contestants as if they have special talent or discovery.
Biko shift! It's not by force to comment. What do you mean by 'slavery of mentality'? Should they kill themselves because the sporting body of Nigeria is not equipped enough to manage them? Since you are vast in' slavery related topic', perhaps you would say Algeria is doomed because the likes of Zidane, Benzema and other Algerian born players play for them.

You can wonder for all I care, there are more religious groups in Rivers state than the rest of Nigeria put together. The priest you see up there is very renowned in Portharcourt and have billionaire followers, go to their place of worship at Rumuigbo and see the quality of the structure they erected, #100m should be peanuts to him.
I understand you from the angle of chest beating but honestly you have made no sense and here is why:
1. There are MORE RELIGIOUS GROUPS in Rivers that the rest of Nigeria: How did you arrive at this conclusion? What is the entire population of the whole Rivers as against a typical Northern state who also practice religion?

2. The priest up there is renowned and has one billion followers: This is just insane. I'm sure you didn't think this through. Judaism is alien to Nigeria. That said, Nigeria's population is estimated to be about 180 Million. So where did you get the one billion followers from? You're saying he has 1/6 of the world's population. Like seriouslyhuh

3. My concern was never the money, but the fact that Jews place a whole lot in beards. How then is a 'Rabbi', a Jewish priest without beards? What happened?

Two things; they should get approval from the police before 'shutting down' Nigerian, and also avoid roping Kanu into this. Anything short of this would see Buratai at his best.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has called on its members to ensure that all roads leading to South-East zone were blocked on 30 May, a day set aside to honour its members who lost their lives during the civil war.

https://d19lga30codh7.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Screen-Shot-2017-01-20-at-11.20.29-e1484908805398.png

This was made known to newsmen in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful. However, in its statement IPOB, ordered every Igbo person to sit at home and remember their heroes and heroines past.

According to him, “We should not be discouraged by the court ruling of April 25, 2017. rather, we should be focused on May 30, 2017 remembrance day, which is the priority of every IPOB member to ensure that no movement of any sort, both human and vehicular, across Biafra land on that day, will take place.

“We must make sure that all areas occupied by Biafrans for the remembrance and honour of our heroes and heroines, who laid down their lives during the genocidal war are shut down.

“Our leader (Kanu) has been in high spirit since his arrest in 2015 and we cannot afford our spirit to be dampened towards the liberation of Biafra because of conditions attached to his release.”

why do they keep taking drugs to Asia knowing the death penalty?

whyhuh
Simple, drugs are ten times the value in countries where they are strictly forbidden. It explains why they would rather choose death than to live.

They should pray that the Malaysian justice system should give them the clemency to live again.

or the consequence of their action could be DEATH BY HANGING OR FIRING SQUARD

Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia etc all have death penalty for drug offenders.

They should pray hard to God for God mercy to be forgiven to live.

If God hear their prayer they could be given life jail sentences or longer years sentences as the case could go.

You are wrong bro. There is this video that is currently trending on SM--although I have seen it some years ago--about a Thai Police man interrogating an arrested drug peddler. The Police man specificaly mentioned the tribe ''Igbo'' has being the ones responsible for the cocoaine trafficking business in Asia. As an Igbo man myself, I was heart broken when I saw the video. It further confirms the general believe that we Igbos are the black sheep in Africa and the whole world
I just saw the video now, courtesy LordOfNaira and it's mind boggling, to be honest. I believe this would open doors to a whole new level of Xenophobic attack, which, quite unusual, would be selective, particularly the moment Asian folks are able to distinguish between Igbos and other Nigerian/African tribes. I couldn't even believe the Thai Policeman was specific.
