Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane on Cristiano Ronaldo: "I don't know if there's a category for him. What you see Cristiano doing is really impressive. The goals, the way he finishes them, in such key, important moments," said Zidane of the No. 7. "He always knows when there's an important occasion, he's going to be there. It is out of any sort of category. There are few players who can to do what Ronaldo has done and we all know that." Barcelona boss Luis Enrique: "It will be difficult to lift my players up after this, but it will be easy to motivate them. We have the best stimulus that any Barcelona fan could ask for which is that we play against our eternal rival. There's no better place to go than the Bernabeu. "We have the chance to get back in the fight for La Liga in a six-pointer against the side top of the league. I love being involved at a club as ambitious as this." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/04/23/real-madrid-vs-barcelona-el-clasico-watch-live-score-la-liga/ Cc Mukina2 Lalasticlala |
It looks like Alibaba's. I recall seeing him in one on the Island sometimes back. |
BoleAndFish:The thing shock me ![]() I believe I understand Zidane's sentiments; he is French, just as Benzema and also a very patient coach. I also believe he can't afford to bring on Morata very late in the game tomorrow. And apart from the immediate resurrection of Barce when playing Madrid, they need the game more than we do, and worst still, a draw would do them no good. They just have to win and they understand that. Carvajal, I'm no distant time would permanently establish his game not just in the first 11,but also in the heart of every Madridsta. There is no greater feeling in football than seeing defenders utilizing flanks like Marcelo and Carvajal do I'm every game. Carvajal's full emergence is only a matter of time. |
BoleAndFish: ![]() @the emboldened, that is one strong 'South-South' belief ![]() I somewhat believe he'd pull through, despite knowing he would waste a couple of chances. For all it's worth, I sincerely hope Zidane would talk sense into his head tomorrow. We surely need those weird luck of his. Of all the players in our ranks, the only two player I don't have a single faith in is Benzema and Danilo. |
BoleAndFish:Honestly, I share your sentiment concerning Benzema. Ironically, the dude has this weird luck when playing Barcelona. My joy is that Morata would be on standby to see the game off, just as Bale. I'd prefer Benzema starts while Morata becomes the amazing super sub as always. |
BEST OPTA MATCH FACTS - Real Madrid are the Liga side that has beaten Barcelona the most often in the competition's history (72 times), while Barca (68 wins) are also the team that has beaten Madrid the most. - Los Blancos have not lost in the last two Liga Clasico clashes (won one, drawn one), their best unbeaten run against Barcelona in the Primera Division since March 2013, with Jose Mourinho as coach. https://img.uefa.com/UploadedMedia/1/10758/F101/GettyImages-1634367.jpg Monaco and Juventus have previous in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, the Bianconeri winning 6-4 in 1997/98 - en route to losing to Madrid in the final. Juve were 4-1 winners in the home first leg, progressing despite a 3-2 away defeat. |
Real Madrid host Atletico Madrid in what will be the first leg of the Champions League semifinals (Tuesday, 20:45 CET). Pepe, Coentrao and Gareth Bale are injured and won't be available, but otherwise Zidane has a fairly healthy roster and he will have plenty of options to choose from. The French coach is expected to start Isco Alarcon behind Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, although some reports from Spain suggest that Benzema could be dropped in favor of Marco Asensio, who would play on the right wing. However, the French attacker will almost surely be in the starting lineup unless he isn't fit enough to play. https://img.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Photo/competitions/Comp_Matches/02/45/99/95/2459995_w1.jpg Pre-draw thoughts: David Crossan, Monaco reporter Monaco are arguably the most exciting attack in Europe and a fearless, young side. They have no reason to fear anyone – they haven't so far. To ally insouciance with application is a rare gift and Monaco have it. Never has Franklin D Roosevelt's famous quote felt more apposite in football terms. |
https://img.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Photo/competitions/Comp_Matches/02/45/95/57/2459557_w1.jpg Pre-draw thoughts: Joe Walker, Real Madrid reporter This is their competition. The Meringues deal in silverware and they want to become the first side to ever retain the European Cup in its current form. Funnily enough, they will be keen to play Atlético in the final, given their recent hoodoo over them, however they might well be happy enough to see the Rojiblancos come out of the hat today. Monaco, after what happened at the quarter-final stage in 2004, and Juventus in 2015, both have inflicted recent scars on Zinédine Zidane's side. Mukina2 |
https://img.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Photo/competitions/Comp_Matches/02/46/00/16/2460016_w1.jpg Pre-draw thoughts: Paolo Menicucci, Juventus' reporter Cristiano Ronaldo has resumed scoring at his usual standards for Real Madrid and Monaco have never stopped doing this season with youngster Mbappé and Radamel Falcao in scintillating form. Still, I believe that Atlético are the team to avoid for Juve in the semi-finals. Juve proved that they can quite easily stop the best attackers in the world by not conceding in 180 minutes of football against Barcelona. The Bianconeri enjoy facing teams who play open, attacking football but a team with a completely different mentality could give them problems. |
https://img.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Photo/competitions/Comp_Matches/02/45/75/90/2457590_w1.jpg Pre-draw thoughts: Joe Walker, Atlético reporter For Diego Simeone this is the big one. The prize he craves more than any other, having lost in two of the last three finals. Watching Atlético this season you can tell they are craving another shot at lifting European football's biggest prize and so far so good. They will be desperate to avoid another final with city rivals Real Madrid - so would not actually be that perturbed to see them come out of the hat today. Just not in the final... |
https://img.uefa.com/UploadedMedia/1/10758/F101/GettyImages-670161272.jpg Ominous signs for Real Madrid? Remarkably, no team has ever won back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles. Four holders have reached the following year’s final – most recently Manchester United in 2008/09 – but all finished runners-up. Madrid bowed out at the semi-final stage on their last three attempts ... |
