Your gesture in placing this on the FP is appreciated.
May I suggest that those who are accusing Seun of bias be a bit more reasonable. There is no Nigerian alive who is not biased towards one party or the other and Seun is no exception. He however tries to do the right thing as much as possible and that's a very tall order - it is impossible to please over a million people. Even Jesus couldn't do it. Abeg, didn't you notice that the title of the thread has changed to "A Harsh Critique of President Goodluck Jonathan's Government", whereas the OP clearly titled it "President Goodluck Jonathan's Stewardship In Retrospect"? Why is a harsh critique if indeed they are timelines from his previous years in office? While the change in title?
Anyways, we have been under GEJ long enough to know he is just not the answer for us. The man has spent several years and has remained "I will do President". We have tried. We gave him the chance to prove himself but he blew it.

On a lighter note, I believe GEJ is aware of the 'feBuhari' chants and as such, he would not want to tussle on that day.

These men u call without respect have achieved what you can't achieve even if you have 300 more years to live on earth. Respect the great, and greatness will locate you! I tried restraining myself from the various annoying mentions I got from supposedly gullible Christians or those that are blind to reality. @the bolded, when a pastor claims he's been ordained by God to preach prosperity over the things of the Kingdom, then you ought to know there is a problem somewhere. Yes, I even refuse to attain their feats because most of them have their hands soiled and have perverted the word of God. I'm a Christian and my initial post which has caused most of you to flare is as a result of keen observations of the lifestyles and body languages of these pastors. They have their congregations at the tip of their fingers to manipulate and influence should anything come up. This explains why politicians will always make the church their first strategy when they need something from the people.
To help your gullible mind; Proverbs 17:8 ESV A bribe is like a magic stone in the eyes of the one who gives it; wherever he turns he prospers. I Samuel 12:3 (Samuel's Farewell Speech) 3 Here I stand. Testify against me in the presence of the Lord and his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed? From whose hand have I accepted a bribe to make me shut my eyes? If I have done any of these things, I will make it right.”
4 “You have not cheated or oppressed us,” they replied. “You have not taken anything from anyone’s hand.” Now Pastor Adeboye has come out, but the question still stands; HOW MANY OF THESE PASTORS CAN DO SO? |

The office of the National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan has blamed the Nigerian media and the international community for the setback in the Federal Government’s fight against insurgency in the country.
The NSA’s office however admitted that failure of the government to set up “the fusion centre or the counter-terrorism centre” headed by the NSA had been hampering the functions of the office.
The counter-terrorism centre, according to an official in the NSA’s office, Col. Bello Fadile, is supposed to analyse intelligence, coordinate the activities of security agencies and apportion tasks to the appropriate organisations.
Fadile said the Central Bank of Nigeria had agreed to fund the project and that a location had been provided for the project but that the final processing required for the take-off was still pending at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
He accused the international community of bias in its assessment of government’s approach to the fight against terrorism and the Nigerian media of non-nationalistic reportage of the developments in the war.
He spoke in Abuja on Tuesday at a seminar to raise capacity within the criminal justice system.
He said that the international community continued to make so much noise about rights violations in the North-East region, home to Boko Haram insurgency, but that the same international community only gave scant attention to more heinous rights violations taking place in some other nations that were also fighting terrorism.
Fadile said the Federal Government’s “soft approaches” strategy to prevent recruitment of more members for the insurgent group “is not being effective because we don’t have the media”.
“The media is one of our major problems. We have to be nationalistic. They (the media) can help us. Why do we have more attention on rights violations in Nigeria? Why the double standard from the international community? Nobody is talking of human rights violations in Syria and other places,” he said.
He wondered why it was difficult for the developed nations to block the posting of Boko Haram videos on the internet, adding that much more international attention was being given to ISIS than the terrorists in Nigeria.
“Why is that anything about Boko Haram easily gets online? Why can’t they help us to block it?” he queried.
The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke, noted in his keynote address that “striking a delicate balance between the demands of human rights and national security” always constituted a grave concern in every nation that fought anti-terrorism war.
Adoke, who was represented by one of his Senior Special Assistants, Prof. Peter Akper, however said “the arrest and arraignment process, including the question of remand of suspected terrorists require a delicate balance between constitutional liberties and national security.” Source: http://www.punchng.com/news/media-international-community-obstructing-anti-terror-war-nsa/ |

micolaj: Many pastors have exchanged their CALLING for MONEY, my God is INDEED a SILENT Judge (ADAKEDAJO). The problem is that most of them are not even led/called by God. This explains why it's easier for most of them to take sides in politics. Pastor Bosun Emmanuel's (of CAN) message comes to mind. After delivering what seems to be the truth, he rounded off his documentary with politics; saying that Nigerians should not vote APC because they have an agenda, that God had 'sent' Jonathan to deliver us from Islamization. Yet, the same president was the first and only president to have attended the OIC. As if that wasn't enough, the VP of this same president is now saying Northerners should not vote the APC because it's a party made up of Christians. God is watching most of them in HD while their whip has been submitted to the devil for repairs. |

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared a former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, and his son, Abdulazeez Murtala-Nyako, wanted.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said this in a statement sent to our correspondent, in Abuja, on Wednesday.
In it, he said Nyako and his son were declared wanted for offences bordering on economic crimes.
The statement partly read, “Former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, has been declared wanted by the anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Also wanted by the EFCC is the son of the ex-governor, Abdul Aziz Murtala-Nyako, a retired naval officer.
“Both are wanted in a case of criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.”
The EFCC had in July last year given an indication that it might declare Nyako wanted because he failed to honour the commission’s invitation to answer questions on how money meant for the running of the state were spent.
Uwujaren said then that the commission was opting for the strategy to declare Nyako wanted because he had been elusive since he was impeached from office.
“Since Nyako, was removed, he has been elusive. So the commission has devised a strategy to declare him wanted. The commission is planning to declare him wanted,” Uwujaren said.
Reacting to the development on Wednesday, Nyako said he was not in the least surprised by the latest turn of events because the present administration had shown a disdain for honest people.
The former state governor and retired Chief of Naval Staff spoke through his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Ahmed Sajoh, in a telephone interview.
He said, “We are not surprised but if it is true that they have done that (declared Nyako wanted), it is a good development.” Source: http://www.punchng.com/news/efcc-declares-nyako-son-wanted/ |

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has warned that pastors collecting bribes from politicians risk the wrath of God.
The renowned cleric said this on his official Facebook page on Wednesday while reacting to allegations by Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, that the Peoples Democratic Party had bribed some pastors with N6bn to work against the All Progressives Congress and its presidential candidate, Maj. Gen Muhammadu Buhri (retd.).
Adeboye, said, “I read in the newspaper this morning that one of the serving governors in Nigeria said that some pastors in Nigeria collected N6bn from politicians for the purpose of influencing their members to vote a certain candidate in the coming elections.
“May I humbly request that if there be any pastor or pastors who collected such money, they should please return such as quickly as possible before the fire of the Almighty consumes you.”
Amaechi, had on Tuesday, told his supporters not to be deceived by pastors, whom he said, were campaigning against Buhari because he was a Muslim.
He had said, “Some pastors collected N6bn and they are circulating document and telling you not to vote for an Hausa man; not to vote for a Muslim; that they want to Islamise Nigeria. Tell them to return our N6bn.
“They gave them N6bn; they should return it to the Federal Government coffers. They will tell you that Buhari wants to Islamise Nigeria; tell them we are too educated.
“I am a Catholic, but no Catholic priest has told me that story right now in the Catholic Church because I will ask him how. If any pastor tells you that, tell him to return the money.
“Nobody can Islamise Nigeria; they have commercialised Jesus Christ. They should stop commercialising the Christian faith. You know what Jesus Christ did in the temple? He chased them away.” Source: http://www.punchng.com/news/adeboye-curses-pastors-collecting-bribes-from-politicians/ |

Like i said before, your father or anyone in your family cant be smart enough to be considered to be the president of Nigeria. Dont beef a man that is already in the history books as a man that was once the president of the most populosepopulous black nation on earth, a feat your generation and the generation yet unborn cannot reach. PDP are insults, you cannot separate the two! By the way, we cannot all ascend the presidency throne. One person is only lucky enough to fill it at some point. Anyways, it's GEJ's time and it's almost expired, and I'm glad you agreed with it. I have no grudge against the man because he's the president. My only ish with him is that he's failed to live up to expectations of the common man, robbed us blind while his wife runs amok; our economy, her prime target. Except you're blind, stupid and a robot, then you wouldn't confirm these things. Unlike you, I'm not given to pity over incompetence. I'm tired of the situation of things, just in case you are. Are some Nigerians so brainless to wish that GEJ continue as President, How can any sane human being pray for the continuation of this fraud of a Government. You're welcome . Honestly, I'm terribly scared to the point that I find it hard to believe how well corruption has become romanticized in almost every sector of the polity. This is day-light robbery and it's just a shame most Nigerians will overlook this and claim it has been in existence long before now. Jonathan and his crew are robbing the country blind. I'm only praying that electorates put aside their ethnic/religious/tribal sentiments and vote a man whose presence is a terror to the perverted rich in the society. We honestly need the tide to turn. We need a change. |
