xxxoladevoxxx: There are Yoruba moslems abi, dont dey lie on the floor when greeting an elder
True, I was born and bred and I'm still living in the S/W but I think I understand Kestolove95's point; he was referring to the idea of kneeling before a pastor. To him, he believes the people kneeling are doing it for the pastors. And about the Yorubas, it's expected that their males prostrate before an elder. This is regarded as a sign of respect. Whereas what is needed elsewhere is only to greet an elder in your dialect without bending or prostrating. Cultures differ and they're not in any way affiliated with religion.
You TANoids should take out the 'SAI' each time you mean to support him. The word became pronounced under GMB and if I'm right, intimidation is what has caused most of you to adopt it.
BTW, it's meant to be used for a man who means business and not for a clueless man. Ask the Ijaws on the forum to look for something similar to 'Sai'
anonimi: Thanks for confirming both parties are distributing, if we assume the rice in that warehouse are meant for that purpose.
So why do you think APCheat is pretending to be holier-than-thou saints like Abacha whom Buhari said did not steal our money
I hope you can respond. Cheers.
One thing is this; almost every politician out there woo electorates with gifts. Some section of the populace enjoy it when they're gifted with things. I find it insultive though because most politicians understand you live life below expectation and they understand that dishing these items to the masses would mean automatic vote. Worst of it all is when these gifts are shoved down the throats of the people and are only given if you do their bidding. An example is this; www.nairaland.com/attachments/2093546_1422984933332_jpeg248480329249b85a9d251ff225f8f3ad
PDP on the other hand, have been dishing things that are quite disturbing of late. Imagine the case of a water tanker(s) being given to people in Kogi or so, and the poster of Jonathan/Sambo is wrapped around the tanker! Nothing is more disturbing than that. Something as minute and important as water should NEVER be used as campaign tools. I wouldn't be surprised if they start using 'free air' as campaign strategy henceforth.
kestolove95: sanchez..am a muslim, seriuxli I will like if u educate me on dix...nd if it is stated anywia in d bible..cox if u kneel for man of God what will u do for God?
I would have loved to threat this here but we both know this is the politics section. Regardless, lemme try...
In Christendom, pastors are seen as vessels used by God. Hence, when a TRUE pastor prophesies, he does so based on guidance and revelation. The same way their curses are more effective when they're uttered because we believe them to be oracles of God. Hence, when I kneel before a man of God/Pastor in the course of prayer it implies that I'm not kneeling before such pastor but I respect the call of God on him and I realize that he is a vessel used by God.
Conclusively, kneeling does not mean I see myself below such pastor but recognize that there's something greater in such person that makes him stand out, and that is the anointing; God's call on them.
Scriptural Reference:
Philippians 2:9-11 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Ddy: Sometimes i wounder why people don't follow politics well.As far as the election will not hold this Saturday,APC have loosed out.Quote me on this.
Na which kain English you type for up there, abeg?
RomanceLander: That's very very true.... exactly what I'm scared of
Yeah... I'll also advice you have a heart-to-heart talk with your mum (this depends on how close both of you are though). This should best be done when your brother goes out. That way, it would give mother and daughter time and all the space needed. It's one thing to talk with a raised voice, and it's also another to do so calmly. Talk to her and try making her see reasons where it's unhealthy for her to indulge in such a thing.
This is normal most times. I saw Dracula Untold sometimes last year and later read some foreign reviews of the movie, only to be disappointed because the movie never really depicted the real life tale of the Impaler. Turks took offence and threatened all over.
RomanceLander: Hmmmmm prayers, isn't that taking it too far? Anyway thanks shaaa. one point noted
Trust me, she'll become addicted almost instantly if she wins because she could believe the bet is indeed easy. Sometimes sacrificing little things in the course of a greater one is highly expected.
Recreating it may not help. She'd get help recommendations from people who would want to do so and may likely be mocked. The most important is for her to get help.
OP, how old is your brother? I think that could help understand the situation better. If he's well above 18, then I see nothing wrong with it. The law, I believe, recognizes football bets. I'm a huge fan of moral uprightness, I mean a big fan. But that does not imply I condemn those who gamble just because I don't.
Your mum is only enticed by the winnings of your brother, which I believe is normal. However, the dangers are quite huge though and could be problematic when it arises. She could be lured of parting away with valuables if she's convinced that a particular game entry is sure to yield. Unfortunately, there's little or nothing you can do at this point other than pray that she lose her bets consecutively. That way, she'll easily be discouraged from carrying on.
And if perhaps you have an older brother or sister, it would be right you tell them so as to caution her.
mrrock: That's all part of a huge propaganda mission to deceive people. There was no audio recorded secretly anywhere. It was done in a studio!. Unfortunately, you've bought the propaganda hook, line and sinker.
I can't help but marvel at how you arrived at this insane conclusion. You mean to tell me Fayose, Chris Uba, Omisore, et al. did all that in a studio with the hope that electorates would detest the President or the party. You're very funny.
"So... don't allow people to spoil your mind, you young people (the shouts subsides). I've noticed that some people here, infact, 0.0% of you have been infiltrated by those who don't like us (pauses).
anonimi: How do you even know the man is not an actor, an impostor paid to act like a soldier? Why is that not a possibility for you to process?
Simple, he has shown his face in the video by granting Sahara Reporters/Sowore an interview. Let the military arm come out to say he's not one of them or that they don't know him, then we'll see if he is an impostor or not. Most of you reason like your brain is in your anu.s
This is perhaps the funniest campaign of President Goodluck Jonathan, after the 'Jim Nwobodo stole' saga. The President rounded off his campaign in his state but met with disappointment as he wasn't motivated to talk longer like he is used to. Below is a full text of the President and his wife in Yenogoa, the state capital of Bayelsa.
Please note that some of the misspellings in the text is as a result of the way those involved pronounced the words...
Patience Jonathan:"...Who has ruled before (probably referring to Gen. Buhari), for donkey years, is looking for Villa again. The new generation should take over Villa, not old analogue. Is not meant for us. So we're using this opportunity to tell the whole worlds, that when you leave Villa, leave Villa forever. And leave it for the new generation. Don't look back! That thing you're looking for Villa, take it to the time you were there. Don't come back there again! The young shall grow!! The youths shall grow!!! Is ya day... So Bayelsans, once more I thank you. The train has move. The train has reach. The train is ya train. So ride the train as much as you can. Thank you and God bless you.
Goodluck Jonathan: "PDP! (The crowd chorused 'power!')... Ashawana! Ashawana!! Ashawana!!! (The atmosphere was obviously charged with the salutes and it was obvious the President managed to touch the right button on the people. There was an outpour almost immediately). The rains are showers of blessing... They are showers of blessing. (The president observed and greeted almost every dignitary around as he turns to see them before mentioning their names and offices...) ... And then (he continued), let me recognize the person I call my boss, D.S. Alamieyeseigha (the crowd and those beside the president let out shouts as they honour the president's 'boss').
"Alamieyeseigha is my personal boss (the president continued), and permanent boss. He brought me into politics. (the president continued in recognizing some other politicians who were also with him on the podium).
"My National Chairman said before and my wife mentioned, we're not here in Bayelsa State to campaign, because we have no reason to campaign. I'm here personally to thank my brothers and sisters, and especially my children (pointing randomly to the frenzied crowd) from Bayelsa State (it was obvious some section of the crowd were displeased for something the president said as they could be heard shouting 'No! No!! No!!! However, the president seemed undettered by their shouts).
"I contested with Alamieyeseigha in 1999, and you voted for us when Alamieyeseigha became the Governor and I became the Deputy Governor for 1999 elections.
"98/99 (the president corrected himself quickly). Then again, I ran with Alamieyeseigha as his erhm... Deputy Governor candidate in 2003 and you voted for us massively. Again in 2007, I ran as the running mate to the late President, Yar'Adua, and you voted for us. We got 100% of the votes of Bayelsa State.
"2011, I contested with the Vice President (turning left and right to locate the VP who was all this while standing on the right hand of the President), Namadi Sambo, as my running mate and you voted for us.
"So we are here to thank you... We have done a number of things, which I wouldn't want to bore you. But let me reassure my children, especially the younger generation of Bayelsans, that we'll even do more and we'll make sure that everybody, in one way or the other, taste the fruits of democracy (background shouts of 'no, no' continues)."
"I know you love me, you like me and I love you, I like you (with this, the cries of 'no' had gained more support as it was obvious others have joined in the chant while the President pauses for a while, salutes someone on his right with his staff raised and continues...)"
"Let me use this opportunity to make it very clear that for me to work very hard than ever before, I am working with the Governor of the state, and you must make sure that you support... (shouts of 'no' rents the air again but this time, it was louder than before) ... to make sure... (the President tries to pick up from where he stopped as the handwriting of shock and displeasure was clearly written on his face) ... to make sure that those who don't like the Governor don't like me... (the shouts have obviously gained momentum but the President was not willing to stop his speech, not for the crowd) ...Because I'm hearing stories some people are coming to spoil your mind (the president is seen saying this while his staff is pointed to the crowd in an authoritative way) ... some people are coming to spoil your mind (he continues). If you don't like leadership we put in place then you don't like me... (pointing his staff and his hand at the crowd simultaneously).
"So... don't allow people to spoil your mind, you young people (the shouts subsides). I've noticed that some people here, infact, 0.0% of you have been infiltrated by those who don't like us (pauses). Few of you have been infiltrated by those who don't like us, and I'm telling you that you must work with the Governor of this state (again, the 'no' chants fill the air)... You have to work with the Governor of this state (shouts continue).
"For you to benefit from us... We're together, we work together, to bring dividends of democracy to this state... And don't allow anybody to deceive you... (pointing his staff at the crowd again)... don't allow anybody to deceive you (he reiterates as the crowd continue in their 'no' campaign). I am telling you, as your father. I am telling you as your uncle. I am telling you as your elder brother (pauses). And we must work with the government to make sure that we develop this state... You have to work with us to make sure that we develop this state. PDP! PDP!! PDP!!!
Dear Jesus! How great thou art !!! God please rescue this nation
kaleidoscope: A Nigerian 'Military Intelligent' officer talking so 'un-intelligently'... He could actually tell his story without giving out some Nigerian military operational details that hitherto should be clandestine.... Listening to him speak from beginning to the end, you could detect some military operational information that in no way helped to buttress his point rather than making him sound 'un-intelligent'... He came out in the open to leak this secret tape, which is a good step in the fight against corrupt practices and a service to the Nation, while on the flip side he gives out Nigeria military operational and signal operations in his "few minutes of fame" on air.. This leaves me wondering if his palms were greased or sentiments were involved in the whole video thingy...
I know nothing of the military though but I believe making this video is a huge step, since he had not been heard from before now. You may choose to be bitter and refer to the recording as few minutes of fame but I'll tell you I saw a man whose life is threatened. Our military arm has been compromised and as terrible as it is, the heads use the ones beneath them to carry out their shady acts. I heard the Captain's brother was caught, tied to a bed for many months and was fed earthworms just because they wanted the Captain to come out of his hiding place. You still think this is fame?
1. The OP is a Paid PDP agent on the forum. 2. We know who This Day works for. 3. Almost everyone speak on anonimity - our reports, particularly in prints are sinister. 4. Every attempt to discredit the INEC chairman has been put in place ever since the umbrella party claimed they don't know where JEGA designed and printed our cards.
We are not robots and we refuse to be deceive. Jega has said it before now that the INEC is ready.
Caseless: I have said it that something bigger than the usual controversy shall befall GEJ before march 28. If he does not get incapacitated or taken out of public eye due to an unknown illness, Or he shall face what Laurent Gbagbo faced very soon. He's going to wish the elections weren't postponed when the trouble starts for him.
This one is too much o. Haba! Let's allow the law play its part and even if he finds a way to go about the disqualification (which I would prefer), he'd still lose to GMB at the polls.
blackjack21: Cool down, jega can't be sacked by the president. Desperation! It will always backfire for Mr. Clueless Spreme. MARCH4BUHARI. #THE BRINGER OF RAIN.
Lolz... GEJ is trying everything to stay afloat and not sink and wouldn't mind taking the country down with him. The man is terribly scared of prison
myhoodlink: God bless President GEJ. Politics should not be a do or die game. That we don't support one candidate should not make us enemy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYhohX9msbM Yes, it would be nice if you could GEJ that and also remember to tell Doyin Okupe who almost had a nervous breakdown while shouting at the top of his voice saying that "he (GMB) will never become the president, NEVER!". For all I know the PDP camp has been the terror squad since the start of the campaign. It'll all be clear soonest. Watch that video and ask yourself if GEJ is a clown or just clueless.
A coalition of women and youth groups, including persons living with disabilities, under the aegis of Harbingers of Change for Buhari on Saturday in Abuja said government of the All Progressives Congress would address the plight of vulnerable groups in Nigeria better.
Representatives of the groups expressed their views during a rally organised in support of the presidential candidate of the APC, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd).
The rally was coordinated by the Buhari Support Organisation.
A medical outreach sponsored by the BSO to take care of vulnerable groups and the less privileged in the society was also organised in Kwaita-Tsoho and adjoining communities in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
The groups said youths and women had been abandoned for too long while the welfare of the persons living with disabilities in the society had been neglected.
National Coordinator of the coalition, Hajiya Hasiya Suleiman, said although the present administration had done its best, it was time for Nigerians to embrace change.
She said, “Buhari represents the change that vulnerable groups in the country had yearned for in the past 15 years of democracy in Nigeria.
“We remain committed to achieving our target of supporting Buhari till the results of the elections are announced. We have already mobilised and would keep sensitising vulnerable persons in Nigeria to adopt the new wave that would genuinely transform Nigeria.”
Suleiman said members of the group in the 774 local government areas of the country had mobilised resources to ensure that their destinies and future were safeguarded.
She however urged supporters of the Buhari presidency to eschew violence and avoid taking laws into their hands before, during and after the elections.
Also, the leader of the Virtuous Women International, a non-governmental organisation, Hajiya Fati Muhammed, urged women and persons with disabilities to support the APC ticket in the 2015 elections.
She said the group’s conviction about APC’s capacity to deliver dividends of democracy to Nigerians stemmed from its track record of achievements in some states of the federation.
She said Buhari might be old as touted by his opponents but that “his focus and integrity were some of the strong points that have stood him out among the other candidates.”
Muhammed said the group had mobilised women and disabled persons with ethno-religious backgrounds to support the Buhari candidature at the polls.
