“I am puzzled about the conducts of some politicians in the country, especially their political intolerance. Is politics not supposed to be service to the people? If you get into any political position, you should be there to serve the people.

“Therefore, if the essence is for you to serve, who are you going to serve when the people you want to serve die in the process of election? I want to use this opportunity to appeal to our politicians again that it is not a do or die affair.

“Let us remember that election will come and go and Nigeria will remain. So, let us play the game according the rules. I appeal to your conscience and to your heart. I watch television; I see how a lot of people are being maimed and killed. Let us do what is right so that Nigeria will remain Nigeria.”
Ayo Blingz, talk to your cash cow and his bouncers (Fayose, Tompolo and Dokubo) in the SS to allow for a free and fair elections. I'd also recommend you call the likes of Okupe and Omokri to order. What am I even saying sef? I've forgotten this man's altar is at Aso Rock.

BTW, I thought he'd come out to assert that the anger of God will be unleashed on pastors who, perhaps, have compromised their faith, just like Pastor E.A Adeboye did?
Politics › Oritsejafor Warns Politicians by Sanchez01(op): 1:04am On Feb 09, 2015
The President, Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, on Friday in Abuja expressed concern over what he described as political intolerance ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

He said politics should not be a do-or-die affair.

The association therefore advised politicians to shun any act capable of causing violence in the country.

The President of CAN and Founder of World of Life Bible Church, Oritsejafor, threw the challenge during a retreat organised by the National Christian Elders Forum, held at Divine Love Retreat and Conference Centre, Lugbe.

He said if truly the intention of politician was to serve the people, they would always eschew activities capable of causing harm to others.

While urging them to play by the rules, the CAN President stressed that while election would come and go, Nigeria would continue to exist.

He said, “I am puzzled about the conducts of some politicians in the country, especially their political intolerance.

Reacting to the alleged political intolerance in the North, the CAN President maintained that it was wrong for anyone to prevent others from identifying with any candidate of their choice.

Also speaking, the Chairman of NCEF, Mr. Solomon Asemota (SAN), stressed that the meeting was called to enable Christian elders to brainstorm on the various challenges confronting the nation with a view to coming up with far reaching recommendations.

According to him, a communiqué arising from the meeting will be sent to the Federal Government.

A Christian Youth President, Daniel Kadzai, urged the youths across the country to be steadfast in choosing leaders that would protect not only their interest but also the entire nation.

This will be easy to get over giving the tyrannical nature of the GEJ. Except APC steps in and play dirty, an unknown Nkemjika stands no chance against the president in a corruption-entrenched judiciary system like ours.
You're very right and I agree with you. However, let's just keep our fingers crossed and expect the tyrannical president of ours to waive this off. March is quite close but far for GEJ whose actions keep cutting down his hopes for a return. Let him send Obanikoro and some military officers to the judge. We know what we want.

The plaintiff argued that Jonathan’s second term in office would end on May 29, 2015, because Section 135(2)(b) of the Constitution that determines the tenure of office of the country’s President, did not make any provision for a Vice-President to complete the unexpired tenure of office or unexpired term of office of a deceased President.

He contended that Jonathan would have been eligible to further contest this year’s presidential election if he had won an election overseen by the Senate President in 2010 in accordance with the provision of Section 146(2) of the Constitution.

Section 146(2) provides that: “Where any vacancy occurs in the circumstances mentioned in sub-section 1 of this section during a period when the office of the Vice-President is also vacant, the President of the Senate shall hold the office of the President for a period of not more than three months, during which there shall be an election of a new President, who shall hold office for the unexpired term of office of the last holder of the office.”

The plaintiff urged the court to nullify the nomination of Jonathan as PDP’s candidate for the forthcoming presidential election in view of the provision of Section 135(1)(b) of the Constitution, to the effect that “a person shall hold the office of President until he dies whilst holding such office.”

Politics › Disqualification: Court Orders Service On Jonathan In Fresh Suit by Sanchez01(op): 12:46am On Feb 09, 2015
A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered that President Goodluck Jonathan be served with court documents in a new suit seeking to disqualify him from seeking re-election in the forthcoming poll.

There are two pending suits seeking Jonathan’s disqualification from participating in the presidential election, now re-scheduled to hold on March 28, before Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

There is another one pending before the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

Justice Mohammed, to whom the new suit was assigned, on Friday, granted an ex-parte order directing the service of the court papers on Jonathan.

The judge ordered that the court papers be served on the President, either through the office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation or that of the Attorney General of the Federation.

The judge made order for substituted service on Jonathan following the complaint of the plaintiff, Nkemjika Nkemjika, in his ex parte application that it was impossible to effect personal service on the President, who resides in the well-fortified Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

The President, the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Peoples Democratic Party are the defendants in the suit.

Nkemjika asks the court, in his suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1112/2015, to determine whether, having regard to the provisions of sections 135(1)(b) and 135(2)(b) of the Constitution, President Jonathan was qualified to contest this year’s presidential election.

Justice Mohammed has adjourned further hearing in the case to February 26.

Na una fault o. I dnt want to brand it illiteracy or ignorance. You can imagine telling a yoruba person that you are a deltan or from akwa ibom, they will say : 'Omo ibo', all of you are ibo na. you people are the same thing'. Shuuuuuuuu!! You are telling somebody your tribe, the person is arguing with you what your tribe is. What is that supposed to mean na? Your tribe people no dey widen out to accomodate the knowledge of different tribes except they are very well travelled and have many friends who are from other tribes. Your people that stuck to staying in the west all their lives are the ones that have this problem. Thats very bad o. I just got to say it o. Abeg use this thread as a means of knowledge biko.
You're so on point. I've lived all my life in the South-Western part of the country and I still end up explaining to educated illiterate Yoruba folks that I'm not Igbo. I hate it when they see me as one and the annoying thing is that the more you try to argue with them, the more they make you look stupid. Most Yorubas believe there are JUST three ethnic groups in Ngieria. Hence, you must be Igbo if you're not one of them or do not belong to the Hausa group.

Listen honey I am talking about way more...

Would you say Fashola is one the best Governor in Nigeria?

I am sure your answer is yes, all APC is programed to point out the change in Lagos, as the talking point for proof of progressive from the members.

I will let you answer me though first so I can point out the numerous frauds perpetrated by Fashola and his Baba.
Mind you, APC is a party and the politicians therein are diverse personalities who could be regarded as a reflection of their party. I'm not inclined to any political party, just the person.

As touching whether Fash is Nigeria's best governor, I believe that is very debatable. From my viewpoint, I'd say he's the best administrator among all the Governors we have in the country. He may not be perfect but he is by far active.

Every administration is either flawed or marred by either incompetency, corruption, inability to meet up with set targets etc. Still the factor of God-fatherism plays a significant role in Nigeria's politics. Fashola may not be a saint but he has led Lagos to a point where Lagosians would see him and smile over his 'little' achievements.

No,dummy! What it implies is that the APC has not taken undue advantage of the disgrace the PDP has subjected themselves to. The APC will not settle for cheap propaganda in a bid to win the heart of electorates. More and more people are seeing the desperation of the PDP with each passing day.

Politics › N70m Presidential Campaign Fund Tears Bayelsa PDP Apart, To Remove State Chairma by Sanchez01(op): 9:39pm On Feb 08, 2015
Palpable tension is reported to be rising among members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State over a plot to remove chairman Col. Sam Inokoba (rtd.), over his alleged diversion of N70m provided by Nigeria's Minster of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Deziani Alison-Madueke, to support the party in hosting the Presidential campaign.

Sam Inokoba, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Gusau of the PDP National Headquarters, Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Seriake Dickson and his Deputy
Inokoba, who collapsed during the PDP presidential rally in Yenagoa has reportedly diverted N40m out of the N70m, and also took a substantial share from the remaining N30m, unknown to the members of the State Working Committee of the party.

The motion to remove Inokoba is already creating tension among his loyalists and aides of the state governor, Seriake Dickson. Some of those calling for the removal of the accused PDP chairman, as our sources reprort, attribute Inokoba's collapse during the presidential rally to the pressure created over the alleged fund diversion.

The discovery that the sum given to the party was N70m and not N40m was made during the PDP Presidential rally, which Minister Alison-Madeuke attended.

Attempts to get the state PDP publicity secretary, Barr. Osom Macgbere, and the personal media aide to the Party Chairman, Mr. Nelson, proved abortive as they refused to respond to text messages or telephone calls.

It was gathered that the plot to remove Inokoba has received the endorsement of the state governor, Seriake Dickson. The governor, according to sources, has had a difficult time with party leadership under Inokoba, especially during the party's recent primaries in the state.

Col. Inokoba, according to some aides of the state governor, is accused of questioning Dickson's leadership during the State and National Assembly primaries, which led to the upholding of the policy of zoning initiated by Dickson.

Though the governor successfully won with his 'restoration boys' winning party tickets, the actions of the party chairman then exposed him to ridicule. Inokoba and Dickson were reported to have traded words over the choice of candidates during the party's primaries in the state.

Inokoba's alleged action, according to our source, led to the positioning of King Serena Dokubo-Spiff as the deputy chairman of the party. The former deputy chairman allegedlt was lured away from his position within the party with the State Assembly ticket of the Nembe constituency.

According to the party source, the newly-appointed deputy chairman of the party, Dokubo-Spiff, would be expected to emerge as acting chairman of the party if Inokoba is removed.

Dokubo-Spiff is a well-known legal practitioner and the lawyer that delivered the landmark judgement which led to the sacking of former Bayelsa governor D.S.P Alamesiegha in 2005. Dokubo-Spiff recently launched a campaign organisation known as Brass Restoration and Actualization Vanguard (BRAVO) to support Governor Dickson's administration in the state.

Babcock University has allegedly announced the official sanctions for students who engage in Public Display of Affection often referred to as “Dorcassing” by the students, in the university premises.

This is contained in a new memorandum which was obtained on BlackBerry Messenger via a student of the university, and addressed 'To all Students'. The missive says any student who engages in open or inappropriate display of affection such as cuddling – during the day – will have his or her merit points deducted and immediate suspension from the school for a semester.

Night time cuddling and public display of affection however will see the student being suspended immediately – for an academic year.

What do you think of the school's stand - appropriate or overkill?
