LordReed: LoL @ not mapped out that way to hear from Him yet. There is no mistaking the One who knows the end from the beginning. The One who knows the secret things. When God reveals to you the secrets of another person's heart what other setup do you need? When the things He says will/can happen start to happen what other setup do you need?
Bro I have seen the dangers of people acquiring visions of who God is supposedly asking them to marry. I won't advice anybody to seek a vision of who is their spouse rather I will ask them to do what Solomon did and that is ask for wisdom. Visions ke? I experience them from time to time but it is never advised to apply visions to choosing a partner because at the long run one could blame God for failures whereas infatuations brought about their visions. |

Just like she jokingly told you she's coming to chase those girls, joking tell her her boyfriend might not fancy her idea of visiting a 'friend'. Trust me, the remnants you're still calling love is not love but some painful part and bits of your affections which are not enough to sustain the relationship. LordReed: I understand and I am also going by my own experience. The times I have sort God for leading concerning who I want to marry I never got a "marry this or that person" from God. What I got was a revelation of some personality traits and future events. My experience has showed me that God is more interested in what you do with what He tells you than in Him telling you who to choose. He never even revealed that this is a good or bad choice He just showed me what would happen. I know this will be different for different people but in my opinion the bottom line will be make your own choice. I agree with the bolded and I love the idea behind it. Concerning this part; "I never got a "marry this or that person" from God" it could be that you haven't mapped out that way to hear from Him yet. I'm sorry if you find this part offensive though, I mean no harm. God speaks to His own from time to time, just that most people cannot tell when God speaks and when their heart tells them things. I had that issue and it was confusing because I couldn't tell my heart from God's. Not until I read "Tongues beyond the Upper Room" by Kenneth Hagin. It became so clear and I could tell when He leads me from when my heart and head would love to do things on their own. Your bolded concludes it for me too |

LordReed: I beg to differ. God leads He DOES NOT choose. You rightly stated that He lead Isaac and others but He did not force them or compel them. Those men still had the power to do whatever pleased them. That you have an idea of who you'd like to get married to does not stop God from leading you but it will hinder your ability to follow God's leading. Please look at this from this angle; when something is chosen for you, it means the person has made a decision on your behalf. Hence, the power to accept or reject decision rests with you. 1 Cor says 'there's a more excellent way...' and even when the way is chosen for you, you could make the final decision by accepting or rejecting it. I understand that the concept of leading is the gap here. When God, for instance, directs a man to become an Evangelist, He has chosen for that person. Still, the power to accept or reject the offer rests on the man. I hope you understand this. |

This also explains why I said we're in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit. He walks with those who are ready and is willing to make the choices for you. The power to reject or accept falls on the fellow, not God. |

Aybee92: I agree with you to some extent BT mind you God did not choose eve for Adam as a wife he only brought her the way he brought oda creature to Adam to be named.study genesis 2:20-24...I still stand on God don't choose for us he only directs remember God created man and gave him a free will. Gen 2:18 " And the Lord God said: it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him" Note the word 'help'. The Hebrew word is 'Ezar' or 'Ezer' to serve as a companion. God created all creatures in two but not the man. Let's go back a bit, shall we? Gen 1:28 "And God blessed the man and said to him, be fruitful an multiply; fill the earth and subdue it..." Please note that God had not formed the woman then. He did so in Gen 2:21. Now note Gen 2:23 "And Adam said: This is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman for she was taken out of a man." Gen 2:24 was not Adam's statement but note, "Therefore shall a MAN leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his WIFE and they shall become ONE FLESH." |

ammyluv2002: Wow ... Imagine this scenario, years back, parents would choose for their kids because it was the norm and tradition supported it. After several years, most people of marriageable age kicked against the idea of choosing for them because 'they want their maximized happiness'. While it must be noted that nothing is wrong with the latter, as a matter of fact, it's far more better than the first but could the same be said of God? Civilization and the inability to understand the way God works has caused many to be that it's only when they find that true happiness can come. God is our Father and by adoption we enjoy the full benefit of Sonship. Now imagine this, if perhaps you tell this Father to give you someone to settle with, do you think he will give you just anyone or send you someone that will make even dark days seem bright? James states that "Every good gifts and every perfect gift is from above..." while God asserts that "I know the thoughts I have towards you; the thoughts of good and not of evil..." With these, we should know what God has in store... |

Aybee92: God don't choose for us he only directs us so we don't make the wrong choices and for you to be directed by him your lyf has to be pleasing to him Ecclesiastes 7:26. If you read the book of Genesis 2:20-24 when God created the woman he brought her to the man (never impose her on him) and the man accepted her. you see God brought and man accepted dats direction
and the bible also says he who FINDs A WIFE has found a good thing and shall obtain favour from the lord....u see God has no business finding or choosing a partner for us but he only directs us...hope my answer helps Sorry to say you're wrong! God can and that is IF you place your hopes on Him in getting one, rather than have a mindset of who what the lady should look like. God always chooses for His own. He has been in the business and He is still in it. Many will claim He stopped since the days of Adam because Adam blamed God for his misfortune "The woman that thou gave to me..." Regardless, He led Isaac, Hosea and several others. True, the Sriptures says "He who finds a wife..." but that still does not imply that we must never ask Him to decide for us, hence, the prayer "let your will be done" comes into play. Most people today already have a picture of how they would love their spouse or partner to be like and they would never allow a thing to compromise that perfect picture of they have in mind. Such persons may never find the right one because when God sends that person who would compliment them, they may overlook God's choice because they perceive it's below par. God will always choose for those who throw everything to him, particularly in this dispensation of the Holy Spirit. |

Thats the way Ibos are and u can never change them. Ibos are contesting in Lagos today, go to Ibo land and try it as another tribe even if u have lived there for centuries. I lived there before and I can write a book on them It's just too bad. It would be right to say we're our greatest enemies because we often believe people hate us and do not want to associate with us. For me, everyone is equal and it's high time we saw each other that way. I don't belong to any of the three major tribes but I'd be willing to fight for one of their people should they feel cheated. The present government understands your assertion perfectly and they're using it as a tool to tear us apart. Worst of all, some of us are giving them the chance to. |

As I type, lots of igbos have not been given their permanent voters card in lagos. Is APC afraid of something? All this while, they have been shouting that Igbos are inconsequential in lagos, why now sieze their voters card?
Besides, Apga is just a joker in the lagos gubernatorial elections, It's between PDP and APC. So, let the lagos state electoral commission in collaboration with the independent national electoral commission release the permanent voters cards of igbos in lagos. What is even their fear self, after saying igbos don't have the numbers and are presumably inconsequential. In as much as I believe we're all one and the same, i think your assertion is untrue. You're not the only one left out. My Yoruba and Igbo friends are still fighting to get theirs. I got mine without hitch last year, just before Christmas and I believe the reason why it is stiffer now is because turn-outs are now higher than the INEC officials. Funniest part is, my friends and I all registered and used our TVC at the 2011 elections but they stalled deliberately, believing that they would collect theirs without stress prior the elections.
PS: Stop the sentiment as they would lead you nowhere. You allowed your ignorance lead the way when you claimed "lots of igbos have not been given their permanent voters card in lagos. Political thugs attacked the residence of the immediate past caretaker Chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, Alhaji Azeez Awolokun, on Wednesday evening in Igede Ekiti, dragging his 82-year-old mother at gun point. Awolokun, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress told reporters on Thursday that thugs suspected to be loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party stormed the place at about 5.30 pm came in two Toyota Hilux vehicles and a PDP branded bus with the portrait of a House of Representatives candidate. The former council boss said the thugs did not spare his 82-year-old mother whom they beat to stupor after they had beaten him and other members of the household. Awolokun said the thugs destroyed all the posters and billboards of APC candidates, adding that innocent passersby were not spared while the attack lasted. “My house was attacked by these thugs and it was God that saved me, my household and my 82-year-old mother, Madam Omorin Awolokun, from the thugs who did not even care that she is an old woman. “They were shooting guns and destroying all banners and posters in my house at Igede. They destroyed my DSTV dish and cord, all the cartridges of their guns are with me. They dragged my mother at gunpoint. If something like this is happening before election, I wonder what will happen on the day of election. “In fact, we have an information that some of us have been pencilled down for arrest before the election day and any moment from now, they will be picking us one after the other.” Awolokun revealed that the incident had been reported at Igede Police Station. When contacted, the Ekiti new Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Alberto Adeyemi, confirmed the attack to our correspondent on Thursday. “The case was reported at Igede Police Station but has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for investigation,” he said. They expressed reservations that Jonathan and Buhari, the major presidential candidates, had not entered into any form of agreement with Ndigbo on the four cardinal issues they outlined.
The four cardinal issues, according to them, are security of lives and property of Ndigbo, infrastructural development in Igbo land, reparation for atrocities and war crimes against Ndigbo at the level recommended in the Oputa Panel Report, as well as what would become of Ndigbo after the tenure of the would-be President by 2019.

Politics › Ohanaeze Faction Opposes Jonathan’s Endorsement by Sanchez01(op): 9:53pm On Feb 05, 2015 |
A faction of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the foremost socio-political body of the Igbos, has rejected the endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan for re-election.
The Chief Gary Enwo-Igariwey led national executive of Ohanaeze Ndigbo had, at a meeting in Enugu on Tuesday, announced the body’s decision to endorse Jonathan for another term in office.
But a faction of the organisation, including members of the caretaker committee, led by Chief Ralph Obioha, on Thursday, distanced itself from the endorsement.
The faction, which is also insisting that the Enwo-Igariwey executive’s tenure in office had elapsed, argued that it would be “counter productive to commit Ndigbo to any form of blanket support” for any presidential candidate.
Addressing journalists in Enugu, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo faction stressed that it would not be endorsing either Jonathan or his main challenger, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, for next week’s presidential election.
Besides Obioha, other members of the faction, who jointly addressed journalists, include the secretary of the caretaker committee, Dr Zed Chukwujama, and Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, chairman of the organisation’s Elders’ Council.
The faction asked Igbos at home and those residing in various parts of the country to vote according to their conscience.
They expressed reservations that Jonathan and Buhari, the major presidential candidates, had not entered into any form of agreement with Ndigbo on the four cardinal issues they outlined.
