Nice! But I totally disagree. Lil Wayne is nowhere near Em, yes! You did not include what I really wanted to see in your write-up; rap and hip-hop are both considered to be genres of the black culture. In that regard, you hardly see a white guy making headway and competing with supposed legends of such genres. Em has proven to be a rap king and a rap god overtime. He might not be the love type and I can say it authoritatively that Lil Wayne is no different from him in this regard. Slim's lyrics are 'worded' and his songs are deep because they often bother about things that happen in day-day activities, this is a true mark of a legend; unlike putting up gangsterish outfits with loopy choruses, shallow subject matters which regularly revolve around drugs, se.x and money. Em might not be a fan of love songs but his collabo with Riri on 'Just Gonna' in particular is an indication that he is extra-ordinary. I have watched several videos of Em dropping freestyles but I have never been privileged to see any of Lil Wayne's. Each time I watch Em, I end up saying 'this guy is a walking rap C4 explosive waiting and willing to explode each time he has the opportunity to'. https://assets5.capitalxtra.com/2013/41/eminem-rap-god-1381822954-article-1.jpg |

From the little I know about ladies, if they want to do a runs, they won't even tell you where they are going. At least I don't live with her.
But I view this as insurbodination.
I won't talk to her till she explains. @the bolded, I believe your relationship bloomed before you guys took it further. Still, opening up after staying as friends for three years shouldn't be a fuss. I'd assume that she wasn't willing to talk as at the time you talked but I still find the 'family issue' privacy thing questionable. You know her than everyone dishing advice here. I recommend that you know the family issue she is bent on addressing, particularly if she'd be staying there for days/weeks/months... And based on the way you tabled this issue, it seems you guys have an on-going quarrel; it would be best if you try figuring that aspect out, I'm positive it would lead to an eventual resolution. |

Nelson Mandela: Google Doodle honours former South African president and anti-apartheid revolutionary on the 96 anniversary of his birth
It is 96 years ago today that Nelson Mandela was born; a revolutionary who would become the face of magnanimity, compassion and wisdom, and “father of the nation” for South Africa.
Google is celebrating the anniversary of Mandela’s birth with an interactive Doodle. Starting with an illustration of the former leader, visitors to the site can click through a number of his most well-known quotes, coupled with illustrations depicting stages of his 'Long Walk to Freedom'.
Mandela was born on the 18 July 1918 and died last year, on the 5 December 2013, after suffering from a pulmonary infection. Politically an African nationalist and democratic socialist, he became involved with the African National Congress, or ANC, and later became its president. He served as president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999, following 27 years in prison, charged with convictions of sabotage and conspiracy to overthrow the state.
Whilst in prison, Mandela studied law and learnt Afrikaans, in order to be able to speak with the men who were guarding him. Google’s illustration of Mandela’s imprisonment on Robben Island shows him reading, accompanied by the quote: “Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world”.
In 1980, the slogan “Free Mandela!” began to spread, leading the UN Security Council to call for his release. However, South Africa’s cold war allies, including Margaret Thatcher, viewed Mandela as a communist terrorist and opposed his release. It wasn't until 2008 that ANC members were officially removed from the US terrorism watch list.
Mandela was finally released following the fall of the Berlin wall, and became an important player in the negotiations that led to the end of apartheid.
He famously said: “No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” Source: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/nelson-mandela-google-doodle-honours-former-south-african-president-and-antiapartheid-revolutionary-on-the-96-anniversary-of-his-birth-9613686.html |

Two of the suspects arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for snatching cars at gunpoint in Igando, Lagos State, have identified themselves as a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, and a Postgraduate Diploma holder from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
While the first suspect, Ifeoluwa Coker, said he was a student of Biology Education in FUTA, the second, John Odu, said he bagged a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Sciences from UNIPORT in 2001.
Our correspondent also learnt that Coker finished from FUTA with a second-class lower division grade.
PUNCH Metro had reported on Monday, July 14, that some suspects were arrested by the operatives of the command’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad for snatching exotic cars and reselling them to unsuspecting Nigerians in the Igando area of Lagos.
Our correspondent learnt that after the police had arrested one Ismaila Kareem, who is said to be the gang leader, Kareem confessed to the police that he had sold a stolen Toyota Camry to Odu for N290,000.
Odu, 39, from Ahoada, Rivers State, when arrested by the police, had confessed that he resold the vehicle to a friend, Promise Nwoke, for N400,000.
When asked why he ventured into buying snatched cars from the gang, Odu lamented that he needed to make ends meet.
He said, “I had relocated to Lagos from Port Harcourt after I was laid off from work. I was previously working with a construction company in Rivers State before most of the workers were laid off. I came to Lagos and I needed to make ends meet. I knew the cars Kareem were selling to me were stolen. He had only sold two cars to me.”
Kareem also said he sold another stolen vehicle to one Desmond in Akure, who was staying with Coker, and that Coker had been the receiver of the vehicle.
However, in his explanation, 28-year-old Coker denied any knowledge that the vehicle he received from Kareem was a stolen vehicle, adding that Desmond had simply sent him to receive the car on his behalf.
He said, “I do not know Desmond has been buying stolen cars. We were living together and he has been a good guardian to me since I gained admission into the university. He sent me to receive the Toyota Camry for him. I do not know anything about the robbery.”
Our correspondent learnt that the FUTA graduate was a cultist while on campus, though he claimed that he never went with them on any operation.
“I was in the Buccaneers Confraternity I joined them when I was in 200 level. But sincerely, I did not go with them on any operation. They liked me because helped them with assignments in class,” Coker said. Source: http://www.punchng.com/metro-plus/police-arrest-graduate-pgd-holder-among-suspected-robbers/ |

Politics › President Seeks $1bn Loan To Fight Boko Haram by Sanchez01(op): 11:20am On Jul 17, 2014 |
President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday forwarded a letter to the National Assembly, asking the lawmakers to urgently approve a $1bn external loan for the Federal Government to confront the terrorist Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
The letter dated July 15, 2014, was read on the floor of the Senate and that of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, by the Senate President David Mark and Speaker Aminu Tambuwal respectively.
In the letter, Jonathan explained that the external loan was urgently needed to upgrade the equipment, training and logistics of the Armed Forces and security services in order to enable them to confront the insurgents more forcefully.
The letter titled, “Tackling Ongoing Security Challenges: Need for Urgent Action”, read in part, “You are no doubt cognisant of the ongoing and serious security challenges which the nation is facing , as typified by the Boko Haram terrorist threat. This is an issue that we have discussed at various times.
“I would like to bring to your attention the urgent need to upgrade the equipment, training and logistics of our Armed Forces and Security Services to enable them more forcefully to confront this serious threat.
“For this reason, I seek the concurrence of the National Assembly for external borrowing of not more than $1bn, including government to government arrangements for this upgrade.”
The National Assembly had in the N4.6tn 2014 Budget provisions, appropriated N968.127bn for Defence on account of the Boko Haram insurgency.
The request may be considered today (Thursday) on account of its urgency because both chambers of the National Assembly may embark on their annual long recess today till the end of September 2014.
Also, speaking at the inauguration of the Theophilus Danjuma-led Victims Support Fund Committee, the President said he promised Nigerians that the government would be victorious in the war against insurgency.
“We owe Nigerians nothing but victory over terror. The life of every Nigerian is precious and we will continue to work round the clock to put an end to this insurgency,” Jonathan said.
The President said the country was confronted with individuals whose minds had been so twisted and tutored to believe they were doing God a service by killing and maiming.
He said the inauguration of the support fund was to kick-start the process of providing succour to the people who had been directly affected one way or the other by acts of terrorism in the country.
The President said, “The year 2009 appears to be a tragic turning point. Boko Haram, an assemblage of heartless individuals, took it upon itself to bring evil upon our country. They have, in their mission, turned women to widows and reduced children to orphans.
“They have killed and maimed and struck fear into law-abiding citizens. They have destroyed villages, attacked property and terminated people’s livelihoods without a care in the world. They have engaged our security agencies in a meaningless warfare that has wasted unimaginable human and material resources.
“The reality today is that we are confronted with individuals whose minds have been so twisted and tutored to believe they are doing God a service.”
The President said those who have been victims of terror needed comfort and succour.
He said, “We cannot replace the life of a child that has been snuffed out. We cannot replace the lives of men and women who have been killed. We cannot return broken limbs to their original state. We cannot take away the trauma that people have been put through.
“Their memories are scared, some for the rest of their lives, over what they knew nothing about. The best we can do in this circumstance is to offer them a shoulder to lean on and to stretch out our hands of fellowship to them and tell them we feel their pains and share in their sorrow.
“The Victim Support Fund Committee is part of our ongoing efforts to provide a comprehensive solution to the menace. This Government is determined to resolve this crisis.”
Also at the occasion, the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), said Danjuma was not the first senior Nigerian that would challenge the government on the insurgency, saying some former Heads of State had told the President the same thing.
Dasuki said the government was ready to draw the battle line.
“I assure Nigerians that we will win the war. But there are some very hard choices that would have to be made. We have so far been more concerned about the lives of a few versus the condition of a few million. The decision has to be made soon,” he said. The Fifa president said this year's competition was better than the one four years ago, but reacted angrily to corruption claims and vowed to stamp out racism in football
Fifa president Sepp Blatter believes Brazil 2014 was a better World Cup than South Africa 2010 and gave the tournament a mark of 9.25 out of 10.
The competition came to a close on Sunday night as Germany beat Argentina 1-0 after extra-time in Rio to claim the trophy and bring an end to one of the most exciting World Cups in memory.
"The World Cup was a success," Blatter said at the closing press conference on Monday. "We have improved on four years ago in South Africa.
"This was my 10th World Cup and my fifth as president and what makes this so very, very special was the quality of the football and the intensity of the games."
And he added: "We consulted all our computers and our Facebooks and decided on 9.25 out of 10 because perfection does not exist in football."
However, the 78-year-old did call for increased efforts to stamp out racism in football.
"I am not at all happy with the way we fought against racism," he said.
Blatter was also asked about corruption in the organisation of the World Cup, but reacted angrily to the question put to him by a Brazilian journalist.
"Listen lady," he snapped. "When you speak about corruption, you have to present evidence..." Source: http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4105/world-cup-2014/2014/07/14/4959076/brazil-2014-better-than-south-africa-2010-says-blatter?ICID=HP_BN_10 |

ollah1: Funny comment. Did Messi flop in this completion? His goals were vital for Argentina, without Messi Argentina would be nothing. Sabella took over from Maradona few years ago, low has being German's coach for over a decade(assistant to head). If Messi has truly passed his peak and Ronaldo hasn't, how come he couldn't help his team pass group stage? Messi took Argentina to the final and Argentina even created more clear cut chances than Germany.. Messi plays deeper in Argentina cos they don't have any creative midfielder besides Di Maria who didn't even play lately and made it more difficult for him. No, Messi did not flop in the competition. He failed to stand up when he was needed the most. Hence, he failed. His goals were vital, yes, but Messi did not carry the team, rather, Angel Di Maria did carried the team more than Messi, everyone knows this. The Sabella/Maradona/Low's tale, to me it's only an excuse... Ronaldo couldn't perform at this World Cup because the La Decima fight and the 'La liga fight to the end' took its toll on him. He played the Champions League final with his injury and was declared 'unfit' for the World Cup before it started. @the bolded, I don't know what kind of a TV set you watched the match from. Germany dominated from the start to the very end and it was obvious. @the highlighted blue, you ended up nailing yourself. Messi and Argentina depended heavily on Di Maria to make the difference. And finally, that a player is past his peak does not mean that he won't score goals, no. It solely means that he won't be able to create the sparks he used to. The present Messi is not the same as the 'genius' he was claimed to be... |

Hardbody, I have just one word or piece of advice for you; STOP posing as a nuisance. Fine, you claim to earn some amount people don't believe and you result to cussing and cursing some of those who made fun of your perceived lies. We should respect ourselves even if others don't respect us... That's the highest form of respect we can ever get; self-respect. Unfortunately, you don't have it, you demeaned yourself in the quest to 'fight back', which I consider irrelevant. To say the truth, you handled the whole thing like some 14 year old. In summation, people believe what they wish or want to believe. True, this a faceless forum but unfortunately, your aggressive rebuttals have proven your claim otherwise... Nothing is wrong in dreaming big and if people don't believe a Nairalander cannot earn up to what you claim you earn, then so be it... And as much as I tried finding some truths in what you had earlier put, all I found was... https://blogs-images.forbes.com/peterubel/files/2013/02/truthlies.gif |
Sports › Re: Germany Vs Argentina: World Cup Final (1 - 0) On 13th July 2014 by Sanchez01(op): 11:20am On Jul 14, 2014 |
seyema: Argentina National Team is the test on whether Messi can be great with a lower quality side rather than a cog in a collection of superstars. The World Cup is the ultimate test, because money cannot buy quality here, you have to make do with what you have. Maradona won trophies with Napoli, almost singlehandedly. Maradona inspired Argentina to win the World Cup singlehandedly too. Barcelona, on the contrary, did fine when Messi was injured. At the end of the day, what determine greatness is whether your presence matters when it count the most. Messi failed, just as he failed with Barcelona last season. He may have peaked sooner than we thought. Spot on! What most people don't realize is that there are two MAJOR kind of athletes; the late developers and the early bloomers. The other is a rare one, you hardly find players who start off strong and also end up strong. The late developers tend to become a nuisance in there prime and they're never regarded. They become better as they grow and their potentialities blossom even as they age; examples of this are largely Italian players. Pirlo, Maldini, Iniesta, Seedorf, Kanu, Beckham, etc, are classical examples of this kind of growth. Then on the other hand are the early bloomers; players or athletes who start out with sparks of geniuses and wonders. They come on to the scene, make a huge impression and die like a leaf in autumn. Most footballers fall into this category. Ronaldinho, Mikel, and even Messi belong here. Most people argue that Messi's performances are not as they were while some argue otherwise... The truth is, Messi is past his peak, and so is John Mikel Obi... I guess I wouldn't be wrong if I say CR7 is not an early bloomer, neither is he a late developer. He has so far, maintained his feat right as he started and even growing stronger as he ages... |
