For the kidnapping and banditry, it"s a result of cattle rustling prevalent all over the north were the fulani and those that own farms and raise cattle in the north lost a lot of cattle (If u follow the news closely this happened during Jonathan administration). The fulani due to the nature of job lack education and don"t go to learn any handwork. They depend on these cattle for everything i.e. survival. When they lost their cattle a lot of them simply joined in the rustling business and later kidnapping. Now a lot of their youth are in the bushes and with their knowledge of the bushes, the animosity between them and their host communities in the North were they are well known and the fact that they dont have any other trade other than cattle rearing, this I am afraid is not likely to stop now. May God help us.
In the case of boko haram, I dont know where u live but for those living in the North we all know we had road blocks all over in our cities and entrances to cities and despite that we still had bombings almost every week. Kano, Kaduna ,Abuja and Maiduguri were major centres of bombings then and a lot of LGA's in Borno I know were under their control. Now i know boko haram activities is limited to villages and soft targets.

I do not understand what the complaints are all about. If I find my self heading such border posts, i can not just open the border based on what i heard over the radio or TV. I will surely wait for written correspondence from my superiors to open the border.

Thank u please, Nigeria will never improve, until we Nigerians decide to change for the better . For any ruler to change Nigeria for the better he has to be draconian and be ready to kill anyone who stands on his way. This is because too many Nigerians will be ready to stand on the way to stop changes that will make Nigeria a better place. That ruler will also not be afraid to die for a better Nigeria.

This charge might be for the TELCOS. There might be negotiations with the TELCOS before implimentation.

This is actually a subtle insult and indictment on Nigeria. Here's why:

Her mum could easily have reported her to the police over there and they would have charged her with criminal assault.

Instead, her mum chose to send her back to Nigeria. It shows that in her mum's mind, being in Nigeria is a tougher punishment than making her face the American criminal justice system.

This is misleading.The author of the write-up is totally biased.Those pictures are not a true representative of North Korea. Even though North korea is secretive, but from time to time we do see some pictures of its streets and people.

English fluency may not be an established measure of intelligence in the large scheme of things. However, in a country like Nigeria where English isn't our first language and where most people are first exposed to English language in schools, when other yardsticks of measurement are absent, an individuals command of English language can be used as a first pointer to measure the person's intelligence/aptitude.

With regards to the corper girl with the appalling English grammar, I'm sorry to say but she must be dumb. After attending different levels of school for at least 18 years of her life, if she can't still string together a simple decent sentence, or spell simple words correctly, then her aptitude for learning must be very low.

Sorry, you failed to take into cognisance the environment she lives and the schools she attended. where i come from children dont speak English amongs themselves even at school not to talk of home. But yet we find some who do very well in all subjects but written or spoken English.

There are two types of primary election; Direct and Indirect. What they used here is the Direct type where all members of the party participate to elect their candidate. Under the Indirect system all members of the party select delegates who inturn take part in the partys primary election to elect the partys candidate.

No you might be wrong because some Muslims do hold that kind of opinion even in Nigeria here i.e. To do all household chores for their wives.

If the man is a muslim, well I know some muslims who do have that kind of opinion in Nigeria here. They fetch water and even wash clothes for their wives and children, some go to the extent of sweeping the house every morning. Some women would gladly accept that while some will not.

People should understand that the Governor is a politician. What politicians need are votes and Keke NAPEP operators have huge potential votes in Kano. The Governor is only trying to tap into those votes.
