dupyshoo: I did. Sorry I didn't make that explicit in my post. I still think if the lump sum is not so large as to skew the six months average, it shouldn't raise a red flag. Here is mathematical illustration of what I mean: Assuming my average balance for the first five months is 20k (e.g (20+20+20+20+20+20)/5) or any other permutations. If in the sixth month I received 40k instead of the usual 20k. My six month average will be 23k instead of 20k despite receiving double the amount in the sixth month. Don't get me wrong, I understand your point (e.g. a guy having a near zero average for the first five month receiving 90% of his POF in the sixth month would surely raise a red flag. But my point is someone who has about 70-80% of his/her POF over 5 months on average shouldn't raise a red flag because he receives a lump sum in the sixth month. Again, this is only for discussion purpose only and don't try to cut corners with CIC. Modify: Thanks Kontagious, you've pretty much covered everything. Sorry I didn't see your post before posting. 1 Like |

cochtrane: Just to add another perspective to the discussion. Like I already mentioned in my PPR rant, I only got a one page letter from Credit Suisse a couple of days before my ITA stating all my accounts, date they were opened etc (i.e. following the CIC guideline) and my balance on the day the letter was printed. Thus, in my opinion there is no way to know if I had a lump sum deposited a day before the letter was printed or not. Note to all. I'm not advising people to start circumventing the process (if CIC catch you and slam 5 years ban on you for lying, Santion1 no dey abeg). Just though I should enrich the discussion. 3 Likes |

vcole: Thanks madam vcole, I just got off the phone with the serviceontario people and she told me pretty much what you outlined above. I can only exchange a 2+ years licence (with eye test). Under 2 year, they'll exchange it for a G2 licence and upon successful completion of a G2 test I get a full licence. Sucks to be me right now. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Blackbuddy: Thank you Sir, I guess I'm gonna do as you suggested. It is just so frustrating that I had to pay through my ears to get the Swiss licence and I'm gonna have to pay again to for Canadian licence. By the way, thanks for the good work. I have benefitted immensely form your (and other senior colleagues) insights. |

Some miscellaneous things I forgot to include in my long PPR epistle: Status Change: I was actually into the status progression thing (I even made a long post about it which is now hidden) but I realised now that sometimes it's only an educated guess and can be misleading. I was expecting my additional status to change to "we do not need additional documents" but until this moment it is still showing "the additional you provided are being reviewed" and I have received my COPR. Note also that I never received any ADR so I don't know what "additional" document is being reviewed. Also, I have heard of people that received PPR while still in NA2. So don't fret if you don't see the usual/regular status that everyone gets. Passport photographs: Kontagious already alluded to this. You don't need to waste your money taking separate pictures for eAPR and PPR. I simply went to the studio and told the lady to take a passport following the CIC specification. After printing, I asked her to save the soft copy on my USB. I used photoshop to edit the dimension to the eAPR specifications and voila!!! The printed copy I used for my COPR. I hope this little tips help. 15 Likes 1 Share |

Hi seniors, Please I need your advice. I have a Swiss issued driving licence and we have a reciprocal agreement with Canada which means I can exchange my Swiss licence for the Canadian licence but there's a catch: My licence has to be at least two years old to get a full G licence otherwise I'll have to take a G2 test. My problem is I plan to land mid next year and my licence would only be 18-19 months old and I read that you have a maximum of 60 days after landing to exchange. Please what would you advice in this scenario? Thanks for your anticipated response. |

Owlette: Don't get me wrong. You can do it that way but I'm just letting you know the risks involved. Currently, the process is taking about 30 days on average for Accra VO and very few things are more dangerous in Switzerland than going a whole month without your residence permit/visa. I'm not saying it will happen but if you get checked during that period, the consequence can be huge. Also, to receive a package in Switzerland you need a valid address and you can't get one except you are a resident. If I were you, I'd make sure I send my passport before or after the Swiss trip but definitely not during. 3 Likes |

Owlette: Now, that would be dangerous. Except you have a valid residence permit, you can't be in Switzerland without your visa/passport. Just so you know the Swiss police sometimes randomly pick up people on the street and ask for their permit/visa (even Swiss and other Europeans). Usually around 30 days (at least for me). Also, except you are coming to Switzerland as a resident you'll likely submit to Accra not Paris/Vienna. 1 Like |

calalili2018: It varies from visa office to visa office. I learnt Accra VO is currently taking their time stamping passports. I sent my passport to Vienna and I received a yellow slip on the 20th that I should pick up my passport at the nearest post. The whole process took six days for me but some Accra (and New Delhi) applicants, the average is currently between 15-30 days. As per DHL or VFS. I can't help you on that. I personally believe it doesn't matter. They can't transmit your passport to you unless it has been stamped. So the VO mostly determines how long not courier service. I used swiss post which was the cheapest option available to me. cc Hamiltondreamer 3 Likes |

cochtrane: That's funny because that's exactly what I did. A couple of days after my eAPR, bitcoin fell to less than 4500 Euros. So I purchased 3 BTC for about 13,000 Euro. Today, those 3 BTC are worth about 22,000 Euros. Meaning I have earned about 9,000 Euros in about a month. If cic has an issue with that, that one na their own wahala. I simply couldn't let those kind of opportunity pass by because of what cic might or might not do. 4 Likes |

GlitteringStar: . Thanks ma'am. Patiently waiting for yours so we can close down the thread and start a new page. To be honest, I got the inspiration from cochtrane PPR announcement. While just listing timeline is fine, I believe providing some background details as to what's peculiar about individual application adds another layer of information which hopefully forestalls future questions regarding same (thereby leading to unnecessary lengthening of the thread). For instance, my medicals. I had no idea what impact hernia surgery would have on my application and despite the over 500 pages, I'm not aware of it been mentioned even once. So, I strongly encourage every PPR testimonies to kindly include any info that might be peculiar to their application as that might help others in their journey. 8 Likes |

Congratulations to everyone that got their desired IELTS score today. Following up on the happy mood, I received my COPR today. Below is the details of my application: WES: 20th September. (MSc Degree) IELTS: 23rd September (CLB 10) EOI Submitted: 24th September (CRS 496) ITA: 4th October eAPR: 5th October Medical Passed: 16th October BG IP1: 18th October BG NA2: 31st October BG IP2: 7th October PPR: 12th November Passport sent: 14th November Passport/COPR received: 24th November. As suggested by cochtrane. Itemised below is what is peculiar about my application: 1. Proof of funds: I submitted a single-page document following the cic guideline. I know some usually advised to even attach six months SOA. Personally, I think it is unnecessary so long you have a document from your bank drafted according to the cic template. My motto has always been KISS (keep it simple and straightforward). Also, a few threads earlier, someone asked if he/she should explain why the money is in US dollars. Well, my POF was in SFr. and it was fine. 2. Medical Examinations: A couple of days after I submitted my application, I went for medicals even without ITA (I was a bit confident I'd secure ITA at the next draw). During the exam, the panel physician thought I might have inguinal hernia and suggested I see a visceral surgeon. After running a couple of MRIs, the specialist scheduled me for surgery two days later. The operation went well and my health insurance picked up the tab including the medical exam which was kind of nice because the exam was about SFr. 700. The major take away of this point is that surgery (either new or prior) doesn't affect your application (at least in my case) as long as it is not critical. 3. Reference letters: I work at a university so my case was kinda weird. The HR gave me a reference letter that covers pretty much everything required by cic except job description. The HR personnel said they can't give me a reference with job description as they are not directly overseeing me and I should contact my advisor for that. Now the problem is I'm working on several proposals to secure funding for my Post-Doc and didn't want to jeopardise that. Here comes the important part, the LOE. Your LOE is perhaps the single most important document that you have absolute control over. Please use your LOE to your full benefit (even if takes you 100 pages to thoroughly prove the veracity of your claims beyond doubt). e.g. Part of my job description for my NOC includes "publishing findings in scientific journal". So I listed all my publications and provided links to the various online articles. All in all, please treat all info you get on this thread as "for educational and informational purposes" only as the only official channel (as Canadianfly and other senior members constantly advise) still remains the cic website. Finally, I can't fail to acknowledge the great efforts of the contributors and the e-friends I have made along the PR journey including (but not limited to) 40manlappy, cochtrane, perks, mummyjaygirls, GlisteringStar, Canadianfly, Hephgirl (I hope she's alright), Algbenguze, einsteino, elfmann, aig84 and numerous others I can't mention. Thanks and good luck to you all. Apologies for the long epistle. 66 Likes 4 Shares |

Canadianfly: Sorry if I wasn't clear the first time. If the passport is your current valid passport, then yes you have to scan all the pages with stamps and visa. However, for old expired passport, you don't need to scan it. Just listing it in your travel history will suffice. |
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by Santino1(m): 2:43pm On Nov 24, 2017 |
Abbylee: Your checklist is generated based on the information you input in the form. For instance, you are getting "multiple" for the PCC placeholder because you have indicated in the form that you have lived in another country for more than six months. Also as a consequence your passport will show multiple because you need to show you had legal permission to be in the said country by way of a visa or just stamps. As per name issue, yes uploading an affidavit in the appropriate placeholder should suffice. |
