The only explanation I see from using the basic things is switching the scores of listening and reading. If you switch those, you see huge implications. Maybe OP gave one for the other.

Even at that, you need 8.5 on listening to max out skill transferability.

@hephgirl, I think you should dive in as others have suggested. Maybe the following stats will convince you:

As at the last draw, the CRS breakdown is as follows:

601-1200 : 204 candidates
451-600 : 648 candidates
441-450 : 262 candidates
431-440 : 1398 candidates

Total candidates with CRS score 431-1200 : 2512
Total invitations at the last round :2757 (including people from other streams)

Now, for sure at least 1114 candidates (441-1200) have left the pool (i.e. got ITA). Since we don't know how many that replaced them, that's a big toss up. But looking so far at the projected CRS of people after the recent IELTS (data I got from Immtracker, nairaland and cav). It's safe to bet that the minimum score for ITA at the next round will be in the 430s.

Based on the above, I think you should dive in and besides what have you got to lose?

Good luck.

That's new! I thought the infrared headphones cut across all centers. So what happens when people murmur or make a noise and you miss out on a part? Do they rewind? cheesy

Exactly why I need a refund. On the bolded, I wish.

Not a recent development. It depends on the centre. Ibadan centre do provide a bluetooth headphone for each candidate.

Damn. BC owes me a 0.5 point refund on my listening test.

Interesting! I didn't know this. Where I did my IELTS, a DVD player was placed in front of the class. It was adjusted accordingly till everyone could hear clearly and then the listening section started. No headphones. Speaking test was also conducted same day.

Me too. Is the headphone a recent development because I did write write it in my post test survey.

Good morning house, help me assess this situation......

My current employer does not issue reference letter for immigration purposes, neither will they issue you a covering letter for your statement of account. I have read previous responses and gathered my offer letter, confirmation letter, JD and payslip along with a letter of explanation to cover up for this.

For the statement of account cover letter, I requested for a six months statement of account (part of my POF is in my salary account) and this is also backed by a LOE.

I hope I am good please......

I guess you are.

I thought GCMS is different.

Sorta. While VO request only tells you the VO your file has been assigned, GCMS details all your application history and details. Sorry, I didn't make that clear in my previous post.

Exactly why I don't understand why people bother in the first place considering it takes upward of 30 days after request to get your GCMS notes.

cochtrane:

Honestly the right position to take. The worst thing it can do for you is to make you confirm whether your file has ended up in the dreaded dungeons of the London office. And if that's not the case, why bother in the first place. I'm with you, bro.

Exactly.

Bros, it can be the fear of LVO o... But truly, when can one request to know? How do you know when CIO transfers your file to a VO?

I know but why give yourself high BP over something you cannot control. As for me and myself, Na siddon look I dey so, I estimated the whole process to take about 6 months and only after then will I start to get worried.

To answer your question, BG IP2 indicates your file has been successfully transmitted by the CIO and your case has been opened at the VO.

Please peeps,

For IELTS (Listening), is there a Transcript (written text) of the conversations/Monologues that would be played?

I'm asking because I saw a sample Listening question paper that had a Transscript section after each conversation/monologue. Although, the prepping materials online that I listened to didn't provide such transcripts.

Thanks in adv.

If that were the case, there would be no difference between Reading and Listening and people would get identical points for both. So, to answer you question. No, the transcript is only provided for practice purpose only.

Hi Guys! Please quick one. Initially, in my EE profile, I put 15,000 CAD as the funds i'd take with me to CA. Knowing that I might not have up to that amount (and just to be on the safe side), I changed it to 13,500 CAD. I'm aware that for single applicants, it is 12,300 CAD. Will 13,500 CAD be okay?

Thanks my people!

I also had the same issue. I modified my post ITA form to reflect how much I have currently (backed by my SOA) and submitted. I already got a message that I passed medicals. I don't think it's a problem but this is just my opinion seeing as my application is still in progress.

Fair enough but ITA has dropped to 413 before so nothing is impossible.

How much difference is there between 436 and 440? Are there not some rounds that go above 440?
Help if you want to. No need to make unnecessary mockery.

Go and tell that to the person whose CRS was 433 at the last draw (no offence, MippiShick). This is no mockery, one point could make or mar your Canadian dream. Be advised.

Sorry man, OND, HND (Diplomas in general) are out of my realm. However, based on what I've read on this thread so far, he/she/it would have been better off evaluating OND and HND as that would have given more points than just the BSc that was evaluated. Wait for the senior men and women to offer a more robust suggestions.

Sorry.

That question you answered is just to populate your fees. Payment is not immediately after that but the very last page. Once you’ve uploaded all documents, you’d see option to proceed after calculation of your fees is displayed. Then you’d be asked to pick what type of card you’re using then the page to fill in card details comes up.

I can’t recollect well but you surely can’t miss it. Just keep going, you’d get there.

AOR loading. N7m in Otunba’s akkant grin.

You are right. It is at the very end after signing the declaration form.

He is comfortably swimming in the post-ITA pool oh grin grin
That 5 points wont make a difference to his 461 CRS so he is better off removing all aspects of the application leading to stories that touch.

That's not the point Glitteringstar was trying to make. It seems a lot of people don't understand this.

The eligibility is like the foundation on which CRS rests. If your eligibility is faulty, then your CRS is null and void.

To explain, to be eligible for the pool (where CRS apply) you need to be eligible to apply first. So for instance, if his score was 70/100 because he answered that he has an uncle which earned him 5 points. Now if he doesn't show evidence for that, the 5 points gets knocked off from his eligibility score which now become 65. Thus, that means he wasn't eligible to enter the pool in the first place and he only got ITA because he misrepresented himself. I hope this is clear now.

Please everyone, kindly contribute your opinion pls, biko, ejo.

You certainly can, especially given that you got no point for it.

I just feel your pre and post ITA information shouldn't differ so much because you never know what the VO is gonna interpret as "misrepresentation". Again, this is my opinion and not a statement of fact.

Good Morning All/Elders,
Please i need your swift advice on this dilemma!
Pre ITA we choose that we have relationship in Canada to which the person is my grandmother younger sister son!-Uncle!!!
Find attached screenshots showing that we picked him as uncle.
Calculated score for EE profile we got zero (0) for relationship in canada despite picking Uncle and saying we have a relationship there in canada.
Despite the zero for relationship we got ITA.
Now post ITA should we include that we have an uncle or not since we got zero point.
However for my uncle he is ready to drop his pr card and birth certificate.
Will this be enough for our proof of relationship with him.

Thanks to you all.

Remember the golden rule in applications: Always provide more info than less.

If you can get your Uncle to send you a scan copy of their PR and proof of residency, then it won't hurt your application. You can simply explain the apparent discrepancy in your LOE.

Why at d bold? Some ppl want to leave after few months oh.

Because your medicals is the like a ticking clock, if it expires before you land in Canada, you have to redo the medicals and wait for the medicals to be approved all over again. So the idea is the later your medicals, the more time you have.

Congrats brother, please what's the secret of this your IELTS score?

When you registered for IELTS you got access to 40 hours of online practice materials. I would suggest you practice as much as 90% on all the sections. Try and compare your score with the global average to see where your level is at. Then adjust based on that. At the risk of sounding boastful, I actually had 8.5, 9, 8.5, 8.5 in LRSW and practiced for about 2 weeks only. By practice, I meant intense day and night practice like I last did during my university days a decade ago. So believe me when I say it's doable.
