odilibe: I have previously experienced this on my strong receiver during multi satellite and auto-scan..back in the days of analogue services,there is this installer who converted c-band frequency to ku band to track c band frequency from my analogue box because the box can only deliver ku band frequency.. . what actually happened was that Your receiver have converted C-Band frequency to ku band frequency...using the ku band lnb settings on your receiving,you must have done auto-scan or blind scan on ku band satellite configuration ...below is the mathematical formular for converting ku band frequency to c band and c band frequency to ku are below....

converting ku to c band..

assuming frequency :11938 v symbol rate:27500
where lo frequency for universal lnb =9750
where C-Band lo frequency=5150
11938-9750=2188
now subtract 2188 from c band lo frequency which is 5150
i.e 5150-2188=2962
ku to c band conversion=2188..now add this tp on c-band satellite setting or configuration

Converting c band to ku band are below

arabsat jsc frequency @ 20east are as follow frequency 4054 symbol rate 27500
where c band lo frequency;5150 and ku lo frequency;9750
subtract frequency from lnb lo frequency
i.e 5150-4054=1096
then add 1096 to ku lnb lo frequency=9750
that is 9750+1096=10846
c band conversion to ku band for aljazeera @ 20east =frequency ;10846 v/h symbol rate =27500
if dish this is at 20east ..if you go to nilesat or any ku satellite setting and add this frequency it will be green

@ satmaniac, as @Sulieman3 said, the Gurus in Nigeria, especially from Lokoja, are better placed to assist. what I can say is that if others with similar dish of similar size are getting nilesat in Lokoja and you are not then likely one of the following could be true:
i. The dish may be warped hence not focusing all the signal on the LNB. Take it down, put it on a flat surface upside down and check that all sides are touching down.
1i. Your LNB is not sensitive enough for fringe reception. Get a better lnb such as a Samson or Fuji
iii. The TP maybe inactive. Make sure you are using a working TP. The gurus here will help you.
iv. Your Azimuth, elevation or skew maybe wrong. Go to www.dishpoint.com and enter Lokoja, Nigeria and select nilesat and press enter. A satellite picture of Lokoja will appear which you can focus and adjust until the green dot is over your house. The picture will show you the direction to point the dish from your house. At the bottom of the map you will see the azimuth angle, elevation angle, and the LNB skew angle which you should use to adjust your dish and LNB settings.

When Everything is correct at your dish start your hunt and you will lock on to nilesat.

I have a 1.8m in lokoja I want to track nilesat with it,have seen elsewhere in same lokoja 1.8m position on nilesat with d mbcs showing.
Since then have been trying to nail dat sat on my 1.8m dish,bt to no avail.
What am I doing wrong?could u or any other guru in d house put it down.

U re welcome @kunle.maximising the utility of ur dish and decoder is possible and all u need to do is follow d proven step of our mentor.
Have u ever heard of d term Multi LNBF combination i.e u can cobine 2 and more LNBFs depending on ur dish size,angular(elevation and azimuth) difference and ur technical expertise i.e ur skill.
To do that u need to take the following steps.
First step go to this thread''tips on how to track w4(36e),astra2f(28.2e) and W3c(16e)on a single 90 cm dish'' note d angular difference i.e 36,28 and 16 dat aint much.
Secondly read thru d thread b4 firing any question and make sure u digest what is in there.Reading thru d thread on dis section is encourage because d priest of satellite tv have put some gud stuff in d shrines(numerous threads) of dis section.put dat in practice and u wil thank me later.
Then d final and bold step put what u have learn to practice.''just do it''
U can always come back here if u encounter any difficulty.

@ganex u need to install another software with patch,to do that u can go to d following sat website_netkeysat.net,sat-universe.com,then download dis software 4669xiimytv africa304p,send it to ur flash and then unzip it.
And if u cant do dat luk for an original 69xii and do rx to rx data transfr,note dat d order reciever must have d option menu.
If u have any challenge dont hesitate to rush back here.

Good observation, yes, the jack is a 24inch heavy duty type and is too small for the dish. I was
unable to get a bigger 36inch type as at the time of installation but now thanks to my friend
obnelly in Lagos, he already bought one for me which I will install tomorrow.

the tv and reciever ,for me is best for illustration on this forum,as it is the common way of tracking among the noobs, you will agree with me that we have lot of members who are new to satellite tv tech stuff hence tey will find it very difficult to understand.

Basic: Initially I wanted us to play Ghana in the finals and beat the daylight out of them. I felt they needed to be taught how to learn to keep their mouths shut when it comes to football.
With the Super Eagles' current form, I'm sure we'll whip Ghana if we play them in the final.

So fellow satralanders what is remarkable about this year,what make this year memorable here in nairaland,satellite tv technology section? Answer is apart from the xperiment on the performance of those LNBF,obnelly effort at making this year worthwhile can not be 4gotten in a hurry(he construct dish that you can dissemble and assemble that's something for the memory. .
Lets encourage creativity.

i notice that after renewing my DSTV subscription after my subscription was off for some days, and after paying I went out without confirming if all the channels are showing, I was thinking if it will come back in a couple of hours but still nothing show up. And what was showing was only the free
stations and to go back to complain was another expense and some people who face this same problem and the paid through banks, ATM and DSTV centers. I discover a new way of
reporting errors to DSTv without calling them or going back.

HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM

1 => All you have to do is to send a simple text message

2 => send your RE DSTv decoder number to 30333

3 => eg: RE number is 123456789023 to 30333

This will work for all networks and instantly you will receive a response from them and in a short period of time your channels will be showing.[/center]
