dayokanu: Of what importance is that game? A meaningless friendly is what it is
It has the same value as China 1 France 0 Well according to stats, every game the German team plays in their country is fuckin important. |
Sports › Re: Why Are Some Nigerians Self-haters? by Sauron1: 10:20pm On Jun 13, 2010 |
HNIC: Forget statistics, bla, bla, bla. Just imagine, if the chance that fell to Uche had fallen to Martins or Yak and the match ended 1-1 How useful will your stats of one shot at goal been.? I have seen Arsenal had 24 shots on goal and 30 attempts and the match ended 0-0. The scores are the most important. Nevetheless, its foolish to judge Lars using one match I will appraise him after the group matches. But from what was displyed y'day, the tactical discipline was there and we saw the same players who under Amodu strolled around the pitch, ready to spill blood for fatherland. That's what we require Meaningless statistics wey nor make sense. How many shots on target did Barcelona cop to eliminate Chelsea @ SB in 2008/9? At what point in the game did they even cop the shot on target? |

dayokanu: Some teams are meant for meaningless friendlies and some are for tournaments Explains why one has 3 world cuos and 3 Euro cup while the other Obviously, you only support Germany on the armchair. . . .U know nada about the team's history. Until that autumn night in Berlin, England became the first team since Brazil in 1973 to beat the Germans in Berlin. It is a tradition they have kept so well until Michael Carrick decided enough was enough. This was what your clueless manager(Joachim Loew) said after the game. . . . . "England were better, period," admitted Loew. "We were caught on a bad day. We deserved to lose. "We had no organisation, we lost too many balls; our passing game was bad, we were not aggressive, we did not cover well. "They were always dangerous in dead-ball situations. Our USELESS players did not have the maturity to beat England today." |

dayokanu: How old were you in when Italy won?
2010-1982 = 24yrs? Who cares whether it was 500 years ago. The fact that it has happened before suggests it can happen again. Beating Australia 4-0 does not mean you will win the world cup. . . . .U can as well go and hire Anini and Shina Rambo to go steal the cup and deliver it in Munich. |
Sports › Re: World Cup Group D; Germany Vs Australia [4 - 0] On Sunday 13th June 2010 by Sauron1: 9:56pm On Jun 13, 2010 |
dayokanu: Italy won the 2006 after winning the opening game 2-0
Brazil won the 2002 after winning their opening game 2-1
France won the world cup after winning their opening game 3-0
Brazil won the world cup in 1994 after winning their opening game
Show me a world cup winner who didnt win their opening game in the last 24yrs Italy drew all their group games in Espana 82 and won the world cup(using the Germans as their sanitary pads in the Final). |

dayokanu: And staring poorly like England ends where? Argentina started with a loss in Italia 90 and reached the final. Italy started with a loss in USA 94 and reached the final. Bulgaria reached the semis in USA 94 after getting sodomised by Nigeria. . . .They still had guts to destroy Germany later in the competition. Since when have the results in the group stage meant squat in the grand scheme of things? |
Sports › Re: Nigeria Vs Argentina: [0 - 1] On June 12, 2010 @ World Cup by Sauron1: 9:39pm On Jun 13, 2010 |
debosky: Tactically I can say there were changes - Amodu just seemed to throw players on and expect them to make it up as they went along. He threw em on with few minutes to full time(even when the onus is on him to get goals). I cannot believe Amodu still has fans clamouring for him. The players have spoken their minds that Amodu's coaching is archaic. Its like comparing a student that worked with a 4-figure table to another student that is working with a scientific calculator. |

debosky: Mama-gee in sports?
So Amodu's problems are simply because he was black?
Saga get real - the guy was clueless in the ANC and deserved to be sacked. Lagerbeck has taken on a very difficult task, making a team out of a motley crew of players with little form or shape, and all in a few months? Anyone would struggle, so it cannot be an accurate reflection on the coach.
That said, the players were too respectful of Argentina, and afforded them too much space. I woulda done better than Amodu at the ANC. Cheese n Rice. . . . . .I have seen more intelligent Silverback Apes. He even failed to accomplish the simple tasks of substitution and smart selection. |

But even in Nigeria it seems the past cannot be buried. Very sad![/quote]What are you chatting about? dayokanu: USA is a country known for baseball and basketball.
Football should be like the 5th sport behind
Basketball, Baseball, Ice hockey, American football, Track nd field USA have proved their mettle by beating Spain. They stopped their unbeaten run. . . .The same Spain that outclassed Germany without their talisman(David Villa)!!! Tell us one decent team the Australians have beaten in the last 1000 months. |

proudly9ja: Its why I blame Amodu, he had enough time to build a team! He just lacked ideas on how to. Let him go and prove himself with Enyimba or 3SC or any other team and stop brandishing 90s FA Cup with BCC lions and Elkanemi. Even Okey Emordi and Kadiri Ikhana have better records |

Altidore relegated with Hull
Oguchi Onyewu was injured throughout the season and didnt kick a ball
Jay Demerit plays in the lower division and has even been sent out by Watford
Robbie Findley plays in the MLS which is a very poor league
Yet the stars of England huffed and puffed Endlessly The stars of La Liga did what? The same Spain that sodomised the Nazis were given proper football lessons by the Yanks. dayokanu: Was this a grade a game? tkb417: Leave Saga to his own opaks On Amodus page on wiki, they said he was sacked for his technical ineptitude Osaze said the team was not properly coached Etuhu has just said the same thing NFF sacked him for bringing our standard to such a low level. Even Amodu himself knew he was a joke
3 months with Lagerback, I think the eagles will be back to their best in little time Amodu is the worst National team manager Nigeria's ever had. . . . . . .There i said it!!! He lacks the technical/tactical nous to manage a national team. U can tell he has no tactics. . . . .no formation, no technical input. He just rolls out 11 men on the pitch and he expects miracles from them. The last ACN was the worst i have seen Nigeria play since i was born. I could not pick any single match we played like the Nigerian team of the yesteryears. In a country like Korea or China, Amodu woulda been in Prison for treasonable felony |

If you are not a slowpoke, you should know Germany/Australia is a MIS-MATCH. dayokanu: I thought England played USA yesterday not Brazil or France either So you think this gutless German side will beat the Yanks?
