I love to study architecture,but now I am been given building to study in one of the federal university.how lucrative is building compare to architecture with Nigeria current economic situation...need your candid advice.

I'm an Architect but its not about what course you study, its about you knowing 'your way' - and maximizing your education / knowledge.

The advantage Architecture has over building is my certificate allows me a direct admission to study any advance course in building while a builder cant study an advanced course in Architecture.

eg - If my first degree is in Building, I cant do a masters in Archi; but if I have a first degree in Archi, I can do a masters in Building..... (except the education system has changed and i'm not aware)

In summary: GO FOR BUILDING and be the best builder ever....

Ogundamisi was disgraced as his lies were exposed by facts Reno gave. Even the interviewer had to reprimand Ogundamisi for lying’ .........interesting watch

Insist on doing business in his office. This way you know where to find him should you need him again in future. When in doubt or not satisfied contact the Surveyors Council of Nigeria or Nigerian Institution of Surveyors.

Remember, the survey plan of your property is one of the most important documents you will need regarding your property. It shows and confirms your ownership over the land. Make sure that its made to the highest standards.

yes.. but are planning to achieve the best quality so we introduced columns to tie the slab to...... actually we've done a foundation that can go a floor more......

I thought the slab was suppose to connect with the concrete for raft?

That's why we initially have about 20+ columns to tie the slab to the beam - Its another structural method of design... i.e

1. All beams
2. Beams to a level above the water level, then block - (remember the reason beams were being use was because of the water - so now that you're out of the water, you can go to using blocks)

lol.... luckily i'm a Muslim and i don't do Asalatu..

The depth is 900 + 225 (225 coming later)

Ring Spacing is @ 250mm c/c as designed in the structural drawings

Why ground beam sir for a 3bedroom bungalow...d land no good or e dey very slopy?
& are u proposing concrete fascia for d build based on d ton of reinforcement?
Is the tons of sharp sand & granite for total completion of d building

1. Its a swampy land close to a natural canal and on a bad soil - so its raft foundation we using.
2. there is no concrete facial, but the rebar are meant for the foundation - finish in the entire project, lintels, columns etc
3. Yes, for total completion
4. In Ajah-Epe axis there is the China truck which is used, its about 40 tonnes; i also noted that that 10 depends on size of tipper used - if she uses the smaller ones, we cld go 20 -30 trips or more

Note: the wood quantities have been reviewed thou.
