good, now they're waking up |
Iamgrey5:You either know nothing about the battle or being economical with the truth. The Fulani were armed with swords, bows and arrow and spears. In fact, Afonja was shot down with a hail of arrows. I'm always amused the way you Yorubas twist history. I've done a lot of research in African history from Moors invasion to Zulus and I assure you that you're wrong. Without European guns, the Yoruba stood no chance against the Fulani invaders because the Oyo empire had already declined. That was why Afonja could rebel successfully against the Alaafin. |
Iamgrey5:Really? There were no European guns in the battle that stopped Fulani advance? Please prove that to me. I'm open to be taught. |
Iamgrey5:Wasn't suggesting there was an open battle between them my friend. I know the history well enough. That is why you read the adjectives Rebellious Afonja and Treacherous Alimi. That should tell you that I know the history perhaps more than you do. Furthermore, you should understand the metaphorical sense. Which is that the quest to conquer the Yoruba by Fulani is ongoing. It was temporarily halted, first by the Oyo Army, courtesy of European guns. This time, the Fulani are privy to the power of the guns that stopped them in 19th Century. The question is, will Oduduwa's children be sitting ducks this time? |
The final epic battle between the rebellious Afonja and treacherous Alimi is on. This time, not for peripheral Ilorin but Oduduwa heartland, the great Oyo empire. I know who I've got my money on. A quick poll: Like, if you think Afonja will prevail Share, if you think Oduduwaland is finished Like, if you think Oduduwa people will get their acts together and confront the misanthrope Fulani Share, if you think their pusillanimity (fear... fear) will be their undoing |
Corruption... This is laughable in a country where politicians and law enforcement agents drive against the traffic? Finally, people in government and their cronies have a new avenue to steal people's vehicles. Lazy folks always make laws that enable ease of wealth transfer to their own pockets. |
tamdun:What I wrote there is hardly politics. If you interpreted it as politics instead of the existential threat that it is, you'd either be Fulani or no less disingenuous. |
Levels1:Obviously, what the man is saying is that it takes lack of hindsight for anyone, especially Yoruba who should have known the antecedence of a supremacist Fulani to vote him. This is especially considering that Yoruba has been at the receiving end of Fulani conquest. It is lack of foresight this time that despite the looming danger, that Yoruba's response to the oncoming calamity is at best frenetic. Everyone has to face the fact that calamity is upon every non-Fulani ethnic group in this country and to a large extent, you two big ethnic groups in the south have a huge role to play in forestalling it. However, what we have witnessed so far is an irresolute Yoruba. Obviously because they still are groping at the straw of an elusive 2023 due to the belief that this is their government. Face the fact that if the status quo is maintained, 2023 would be too far, enough timeline for Fulani agenda to materialize. |
Too bad. Yoruba know the solution to the onslaught of Fulani against them and other southerners. They're hiding their heads in the sand like the ostrich because of what the belle would eat. They learned nothing from the loss of Ilorin. They still won't learn from the loss of Oyo. Africans awe me. We are the least strategic people on this earth. That's why North African are Arabs today, Hausas under Fulani and now, the time is ticking for the rest of Nigeria. Yoruba and what the stomach will eat. |
The finally have silenced a glimmer of hope they have against the bandits. |
We are aware. It is the same jihadi vision of Boko Haram. The vision is terror, more terror, cash in, more arms, invest in even more arms, then unleash more terror until the infidels submit or be killed. |
Finally, they've succeeded in distracting this man with politics. Yoruba are in trouble. Did you notice how apprehensive Fulani were over Amotekun which they have now proven is a toothless leopard incapable of killing a calf? This is an error these people should not have made. Fulani are opportunistic and would exploit the confusion among the Yoruba to grab more territories. If Yoruba knew Amotekun wouldn't be effective, they shouldn't have formed it. Discouraging the only Arrowhead leader that is ready to confront the lawless headon spells calamity for local communities there. The odds now highly favor the aggressors. You'll see that 2 years is a long long time to grab new territories. |
If there are ethnic groups that should understand Fulani agenda well, Yoruba is one of them having lost territory to them. Northerners, especially Hausa are another, having been conquered by them. However, if I tell you that I was not shocked in 2014 when I saw people from Benue, Southern Kaduna and some Yoruba campaigning to enthrone Fulani supremacy, I would be lying. I remember pointing out to the Benue lady the effect APC victory would have on her people in terms of increased genocide but she didn't seem to understand. We Africans should start having strategic insight and not live for our belle only. The reason Arabs and now Fulani are cutting wide swats in tears and blood from North Africa to the Congo basin is that we lack foresight. It is seriously dumb that in an age other Africans have realized this existential threat, foolish Nigerians are still empowering an ethnic group that plans to kill us all. |
solmusdesigns:I think you're getting it all wrong. The northerners can afford crises in Yorubaland and that is what will happen if you guys keep playing the ostrich. The reason they're not bothered about sending in the army is that they don't see Yoruba as capable of resisting the Fulani expansionist agenda as we are currently seeing with your inconsistencies. However, you're right about the Igbos, if you study their history, you'd realize that they bow to no one. Not the British, not even the Portuguese. They were among the most difficult slaves to manage during the transatlantic slave trade in Africa. I'm telling you as someone versatile in African history that the Fulani are quick to deploy troops against the Igbo because they'll never call their bluff the way they call Yorubas. In summary, they need full military might to subjugate the Igbo, while for Yoruba, well ... herdsmen are enough. |
Agadinaagwuofe:You're a dreamer my friend, if you sincerely believe co-existence with Fulani is a possibility in any locality. From what I've seen, Oyo will soon become another Kwara if Yoruba lack the balls to do the audacious. You all should get rid of greed and laziness and man up or shut off and become another subjugated Fulani vassals. It's astounding the a big race like Yoruba can't see beyond their noses. People warned you guys in 2014 when you were dancing against Jonathan. Even now, the same lack of foresight keeps you from seeing the calamity coming upon you. |
uBuNiT:People may call Yoruba cowards but do not forget this is existential threat. If you push even a coward to the wall, he'll react somehow. Even the Warsaw Jews reacted when it became obvious to them that the Nazis would exterminate them. At least, the handwriting is already on the wall with what has happened in Southern Kaduna and Plateau. I personally don't see them as cowardly considering their history. Unless they're not the children of their fathers. I did a lot of research on African history although I don't discount the fact that acculturation can change groups. Based on that, before you can classify modern Nigerian Yoruba as cowardly is if they lose more territories to Fulani as they did less than 150 years ago. Having said that, I think the calamity facing the ethnic groups in this country is accentuated by the lack of cooperation between the Yoruba and Igbo, the largest ethnic groups not yet completely subjugated by the Fulani. This is because these groups have different agenda. The fiercely independent Igbo don't want anything to do with Nigeria due to their enterprising nature. The Yoruba though not in love with Nigeria cannot resist the lure for the free oil money everyone shares from monthly. If these two ethnic groups can find a common ground, I'm sure there's no way what happened to Hausa, would happen to the southern tribes. You only need to look at North Africa, Dafur region of Sudan and even more recently, Nigeria's middlebelt to understand that it's getting late. |
I've been hiring for my company from this place for about 2 years and I want to share my experience. First, I think the main advantage of hiring Nigerians is the low cost of labour, but that's where it ends. I'll tell you the reason shortly. In comparison with hiring from other African countries, such as Egypt, Kenya and the Gambia, hiring Nigerians is quite laborious. I think this could be attributed to the high population compounded by low quality education that we have in the country. Hiring a Nigerian writer saves you tons of money but FINDING THE WRITER would take you tons of time. Here's my experience in hiring skilled labour and virtual workers from Nigeria and other places: If I put up an advert in a local newspaper in the Gambia for 10 openings, I may get 15 applications. It gets very interesting from there, because of those 15, it would be very difficult picking the best 10. Sometimes, we have been short of applications in those countries, but what is outstanding is the quality of the applicants. Most applications are from skilled applicants and you don't miss the quality. In comparison, if we have same 10 openings and advertise in Nigeria, there could be 150 applications, but it'll still be difficult sifting through to fill the 10 slots. At the end of the day, we may make do with 4 skilled workers and search elsewhere to make up. I've been around and I often hear people say there are no jobs. This happens all the time, but the reality is that there are lots of jobs but the average potential employee in this country are not really employable. I mean in comparison with many other African countries, talk less Asian countries. The fact is that with appropriate skills, there are jobs (whether virtual or otherwise) if you know where to search. |
If you hire people here for your projects, you should beware of one chap who is perpetually involved in writing scams. He claims to be a writer but he's more into scam than writing. He asked to be hired for our project. I did hire him but he was sending plagiarized content. I saw the first set of articles looking good and paid him not realizing that he was copying other sites (instead of rewriting). I think my mistake was paying him without checking the articles. When I wanted to use the said articles, they failed routine scrutiny, so I had to rewrite myself. When he sent in the second, that was when I realized that he intentionally copies published content and sells to those that employ him. I had forgotten about him but he showed up again as we are hiring this week with his usual tricks and I checked our records and found he is the same chap. Seriously, if you do not check the jobs they give you, people like this would ruin years of work for you. The community should be wary of this man and many others like him.
