I don't think Kanaga was extremely insensitive, he'd have worded his speech a bit better but it came from a place of good.

The root of that speech emanated from weeks ago when they first got paired and Tsatsii came to him to complain on how Ebubu feels left out and isolates himself because of his skin color and how people doesn't want to be close to him growing up. So, Kanaga told Tsatsii that he understood where Ebubu is coming from, having heard and had experiences with people like him. He encouraged Tsatsii to talk to Ebubu and be more close to Ebubu so he doesn't feel left out. That she'd tell him that they are all one and he deserves to be there as much as anyone.

He also told Tsatsii that he'd have talked to Ebubu about Ebubu isolating himself (Ebubu) because he feels the HMs don't want to associate with him, but it'd be like Tsatsii came to reveal to him (Kanaga) what Ebubu is going through and it'd amount to betrayal as Ebubu confided in Tsatsii in private about it.

So, Kanaga used last night to encourage Ebubu as he couldn't say it to him personally so it wouldn't feel like Tsatsii had told him of the struggles which Ebubu confided in her. So, he might not worded it very well, but he meant no harm.

The reason why I used the word insensitive. He didn't properly contextualise what support and encouragement means. By simply including him in your daily actiivities...giving a speech about who he is and not what his condition is...he would have given him all the encouragement he needed and made him feel included.

I am not saying his speech came from a bad place. But it was insensitive.

There was nothing wrong in what he said. He merely stated a previous or general misconception on Albinism and countered it with a positive view or better outlook. Don't misquote him.

There was everything wrong with it. He has lived with Ebubu over a month and couldn't make a speech on the guy's personality without mentioning his skin type. He basically reduced the guy to an albino, even referred to him being on big brother as helping his community? What community? Should there be anything like albino community? Isn't that marginalisation? Something Ebubu has been trying to overcome all his life....kanaga was extremely insensitive.....

It's okay to be upset with Yemi, but cut him a little slack. If Ebuka had not criticized his association with Blue, do you think he would have ignored Blue now?

Remember he gave Blue a cookie right in front of Khosi when his game hadn't been tampered with.

He is trying to be strategic because he now thinks viewers dont like his relationship with Blue (He probably thought of Ebuka's intervention on Sheggs and Bella issue last bbn).

He thinks ignoring Ebuka's hint would be bad for his game and foolish, as would any rational person in that position conclude.

He probably now thinks the way he played Khosi has made him lose fans to her just like in Shella's case so he's out to regain some market share by playing the faithful loverboy that looks past his partner's (Khosi) shenanigans.

He simply doesn't know what you know. So his annoying antics now is on Production. This is how they want it to be.

I pray something happens to snap him out of it. Be that as it may, no genuine fan of Yemi will withhold votes from him because of this when someone like Miracle is not losing his fans despite his shameless and childish instigations, or Phyna and Tacha with their uncouth behaviour. In fact, you stan harder in such moments!

Of cos, he has my votes till the end of the game. I am just venting ....lol

I was disappointed as well. He'd have mentioned Blue and be "cordial" with his speech for her. Meanwhile, Khosi will mention Thabang during hers. Watch & see. She does what she wants, but Yemi is busy trying "make things right" to her at the expense of his game.

My pet peeve is that Blue is in love with Yemi and can't see that she deserves more.

After much thought, I've come to the conclusion that Yemi messed up not on last Sunday, but the day he went back to Khosi that fateful Sunday for reconciliation.


Yemi should've stood his ground as "friends" with Khosi during his reconciliation with her. Once she emotionally caged him into "more than friends or nothing", Yemi lost the plot. I won't call him a coward coz I got a soft spot for him, but Yemi is not assertive one bit. It's not being able to be in control that made Khosi bend him to do what pleases her, same reason that made Nelissa go ahead to nominate Kanaiva when Yemi should've said no and insisted that Nelissa dare not nominate his two gees.


I really hope Blue wise up.
