Lexusgs430:But I have one question for you sha. Why exactly did you not buy Umidigi for your in-laws? Betterstill, since we are talking of MTK devices, why you no send money make dem buy Infinix, Tecno and the rest? ![]() |
eleojo23:If you actually read that my epistle very very well and you understand you no suppose dey ask this question again. NOTE: Some sellers add unnecessary made-up adjectives to distinguish their devices with different versions and models. Kindly go one step further and read item description and also user reviews. |
@nabeans, alot of people here still have a particular misconception about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Global version with Snapdragon and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X with Snapdragon too. The Global version is a better deal in all aspect, stop thinking the Note 4X is better because most people buy it here. It is in fact exactly the same phone like for like save for the additional 4g bands available on the Global Version, also the Note 4X is factory installed with China firmware(they may have started putting Global firmware though). In conclusion, if you ask me, get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Global Version, it is left to you to choose either the 3gb-32gb or 4gb-64gb based on your need for storage and your pocket. And to @nabeans, someone getting from china for you might result in getting the wrong version of the above phone. Patronise trusted sellers on this thread like @noobody, @protein0, @emaminaj, @holuwaxheun most of them have numerous testimonies on this very thread. |
Tnot:I use exactly same Earphone now. It is actually very good for the price, very bassy! |
nabeans:With all due respect you're just being paranoid unnecessarily, if my memory and knowledge are still serving me well, there is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 4gb ram 64GB Global Snapdragon Version Black variant. Xiaomi Online Store https://m.aliexpress.com/s/item/32808113973.html Eternal Team https://m.aliexpress.com/s/item/32802702957.html Mi Global Store https://m.aliexpress.com/s/item/32809785892.html Check Item description on each of those product pages, Global firmware and the additional 4g bands are listed. My advise when searching online for anything, place close attention to simple details, it will go a long way to clear doubts and confusion. NOTE: I had modify this post over and over again. To be fair on you, Aliexpress sellers are not really helping matters after considering the brouhaha Xiaomi have already caused on the naming scheme of different versions. Firstly, The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x 4GB 64GB that was first released was fitted with the MediaTek processor, not long after the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 4GB 64GB Snapdragon Global Version with global firmware was released which happened to cost cheaper than the 4X with MTK. Consequently, from my own little understanding, Xiaomi not wanting to rest on their laurels on confusion, they later released Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X 4GB 64GB Snapdragon version which has lesser 4g bands compared to the Global version released before it. This last one is supposed to be for the locals in China just like Note 4x 32gb is supposed to be, although, it is still sold by sellers who ensures they flash a global firmware before sending. Xiaomi no go scatter person head! Mehn! I need a cold beer! ![]() |
If you're the 'I want to take the safest path, I no want wahala' kindly buy your Infinix, gionee, tecno jejely. But if you are the adventurous type that is not afraid of 'change' try out the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 4gb 64gb Global edition. This phone is my daily driver and I can categorically tell you it is far better than phones in the same price range available here in Nigeria. Note: Xiaomi no be mate with all this brands in Nigeria, they are up there with the likes of Oppo, Vivo, honor, OnePlus, Nubia and are not far behind Huawei, Samsung and Apple. Check out the Xiaomi thread, one of the most recent bumbling thread in phone section: https://www.nairaland.com/3092803/xiaomi-thread |
Vicjay1:The smallest hole is a mic hole while the one beside is the Infrared port. |
fibonacci2526:I am not understanding ooo! ![]() |
Gptech:Well! I clearly stated one or two storage versions might be missing! And that blue Redmi Note 4x with 4gb-64gb strange to me. |
nabeans:The naming of their phones na real wah! Redmi 4a(2gb-16gb)*; snapdragon 425 Redmi 4(2gb-16gb); snapdragon 430 Redmi 4 prime (3gb-32gb); snapdragon 625 Redmi 4x(2gb-16gb, 3gb-32gb, 4gb-64gb); snapdragon 435 Redmi Note 4(3gb-32gb, 3gb-64gb)*; MediaTek Redmi Note 4 Global(3gb-32gb, 4gb-64gb); Snapdragon 625 Redmi Note 4x (3gb-16gb, 3gb-32gb); Snapdragon 625 Redmi Note 4x (4gb-64gb); MediaTek Note: Came up with that offhand. * indicates there may be one other storage version. |
noobody:WAWUUUUUUUUU!!!!! |
busuyi44:That thing na luck ooo, cover for my redmi note 4 SD came 2 weeks+ after the phone arrived. So, it took more than a month or thereabout. Though, Some pple here have received in record time(less dan two weeks), especially those in Lagos. |
lavenderjade:Link to tempered glass please, my present tempered glass no gree stick for edges! ![]() I use the same cover and it's actually the 1st cover have used more than a month on any of my phones even though it's a little bulky. The case is really strong and secure. Got mine back then for just $1.99 free shipping(china small packet). |
codeSavant:Screen-On-Time |
earthrealm:Yeah that receipt na fraud!(A particular receipt I collected was backdated) na house I come really notice. But as per jasi guy, I dey always do gentle broda for one SU-like lady for there. I actually payed #500 handling fee for my phone back in May or thereabout. |
earthrealm:Force network preference to 'LTE only' by dialing *#*#4636#*#* |
GrandMufti:I stay and work along sapele road, currently switched to 'LTE only' on Etisalat but na 'No service'. Will double check at work place next week. But I don't think it works around Satana Market. |
earthrealm:Etisalat 4G never enter Benin, I had to call their CC to inquire. Though, I ain't sure of GLO's 4G. |
GrandMufti:It works well with Snapdragon too. Though, it is only the 'Android Settings' that works. |
earthrealm:Chai! |
If you are having issue with Network preference, instead of having to dial *#*#4636#*#* every other time, download MTK engineering app on Google Play store. Just click Android Settings... Check attached screenshots below.

ollah1:After the backup, Open ur file explorer MIUI---backup---Allbackup(the backup name should include the date the backup was made). Afterwards, copy to an external source like PC or OTG device, with this done, you can go on with your factory reset. |
ollah1:Go to Settings---Additional Settings---BackUp & Reset---Local BackUps I will advice you backup only third party apps bcoz restoring system apps backup can result into issues atimes. |
OCTAVO:Baba stay on the version you are. I am still on 8.2.2.0, the same version that came with the phone, I have only had one ish and factory reset solved it. Except data is no problem you can go ahead, but from my point of view the update no worth am. Itz better you just wait for MIUI 9, though I personally will wait for atleast 2 months b4 updating myself. |
Kamaye:The emphasis is on 'Used' here, when was the last you used that same card? I have also used GTBank mastercard in the past too, but of recent I doubt it works. |
Lexusgs430:This is actually not totally accurate, you still have to checkout through paypal payment portal if you wish to use either mastercard or Visa. From my own personal experience paypal doesn't work with any card issued by Nigerian banks. |
busuyi44:You might probably be using file sharing apps like 'Xender' I might be wrong sha. Another thing is sharing hotspot, maybe your people they sneak use your hotspot. At the end of it all, you might actually be the one consuming alot of data. |
kelechiodo:It is actually a very good thing to test run this buying from overseas thing yourself from start to finish, it will be an invaluable experience for you. If you prefer not to go through the stress contact our very own @noobody, @protein0 or @emaminaj those are the people I can recommend based on other members' testimonies. Their rates are competitive too. |
kelechiodo:I don't think so, I am very sure of Access @375 and GTBank @385+(this one dey fluctuate based on daily rate). Maybe UBA, fidelity and recently Ecobank and some others, but ain't sure of them. Based on most recent development, Access has Limit of $200 spend per month while GTBank recently reviewed their's to $1000 spend per month. |
MizMyColi:Just save ursef the stress and use @noobody, @protein0 or @emaminaj. Their rate are also competitive. |
I think this is going to be a good buy. A win-win product for pple with large and small ear canal. Yeah! It might seem pricey but I will rather buy one very strong and durable Earphone than buy tens of low quality ones. This dollar to naira rate sha! ![]()
