Pepe clearly fouled Elche player in Elche's box, and the fouled player was penalised for being fouled by pointing to the spot.

The fact is, it was with the centre ref that they communicated the matter to. And of course he was the one to liase with his assistants for them to be aware. They actually didnt contact the assistant directly. The reason the main ref contacted the assistant was to tell him it would be less conspicouos and would bring about less media frenzy and scrutiny if the error calls were to come from the linesman as opposed to the centre ref. So, he (main ref) told him he would be the one to make those important calls (against Barca).

Imagine! May God bless the assistant ref. They have been doing it all these while, and now that their plot has been revealed, maybe we will have a smooth classico.
